  1. I'm too used to SRK, I guess Can someone clarify what 5B> command grab meant?
  2. Wouldn't it suck it the rest of the cast's buffs counteracted hers and made her worse tier-wise than before? Here's to jinxing things.
  3. Keep up the good work on this blog dude
  4. Oh yeah, how was her Command Grab changed?
  5. Platinum looking pretty sexy right now.
  6. This video game shit needs to always look professional though. SRS BSNSS
  7. J.C could hit behind her? As in cross-up options?
  8. I took a stab at it With regular missile, 5C> 5D> JC> JD> DJ JC> something 6C FC> JC> 5C> Mamisa> 5C> 2C × n still works, still raises the concentration of salt in the room. 5A can only be chained 3 times , of course, and they say it has "compensation"? Cat hammer is stronger and has more minimum range (no more will it whiff at closer ranges, but why the fuck were you using it close up to start with? I digress.), but has "compensation" Also launches on CH now. Cue more salt and hatred towards Platinum. She can combo off the Super Bat in the corner. At least one person didn't seem to find this worth the meter still iirc. More importantly, her regular bat launches on CH, just like in the loketest (or something. Correct me if I read that wrong) [*]Sounds like she can do a Hammer Loop with the Super Hammer at any height (as opposed to only after a Lvl 3 superjump). So no more bootleg delays in the air. [*]"With Special Hammer Mami> 5C> J.C> J.D> 5C> J.C> J.D" [*]At least two people said that they felt 5B was a superior poke to 5A now. I support this. Horizontal range on a bitch. [*]Mami> 5C> Standing pan> 6C> j.236C> JC connects in the corner [*]Sounds like CDT is a little harder to combo timing-wise [*]Stiff 5A is stiff It's pretty rough, that's all I could really get. EDIT: went through it again and fixed some mistakes. It's more accurate to the source, which I hope to god is legit. My overall opinion: I think Platinum could have come out a LOT worse. Damage nerfs aplenty, but lots to make up for it. If her 5B is good enough to compete with Litchi's or Ragna's, I think it could give her a huge boost in most matchups. I'm thinking the devs wanted Platinum to shift more from a fast rushdown/unsafe mixup character to a (still-annoying) passive-aggressive character with above-average spacing options who also has some unsafe mixups to throw out once in a while. Y'know, like what they intended her to be to start with. Please do correct me if I'm wrong on any of this, guys, I'm a scrub for a reason. Hope this helps.
  9. Stay free, Tager
  10. I can believe see being low-tier to start with. Remember when CS 1 was new and everybody thought Litchi was low-tier because they hadn't figured out how to use her right? Here's hoping everyone doesn't start tier-whoring with Tao.
  11. LIES. Another thing to watch out for, Litchi can do a staffless 2D cross-under (just like Plat 2A cross-under) after any air combo that ends with a Chun (236C). It's like Platinum's except better, safer, and faster with more options afterward...actually I think I just described Litchi in general.
  12. This is true. I'm probably a biased source anyway.
  13. I wouldn't say impossible. At least it isn't invisible like some of Rachel and Jin's mixups. Litchi's overheads are pretty seeable imo, and the average Litchi player is just going to do something fluffy like 6A 5 times anyway. btw, Litchi can do a double overhead staffless (i.e. during Daisharin) 6A > Chun. Watch out, that shit is Pringles if you don't expect it.
  14. Not strict so much as it's not what it looks like visually. You're probably doing it too early.
  15. Welcome dude. Check out the Beginner Forum section for answers to a lot of your questions, and never be afraid to ask questions.
  16. Thanks peeps, I was thinking I was the only one having problems. I do win pretty often, I guess I just get frustrated when I realize that all but 3 or 4 of her matchups are massive struggles. Getting stuck on defense for half a match is fucking irritating too, right now I need to find ways to break out of Bang's blockstrings of salt and Rachel's corner strings other than blocking for 30 seconds at a time. You're right Urichinan, Extend is right around the corner, so there's no real point in dropping her at this point anyway. And I had never thought about using 5A in her pressure like that. Actually I'm not sure what you mean here. TL;DR I'm still a scrub and Platinum is a dirty, dirty cocktease
  17. Guys, I'm seriously thinking of dropping Platinum as a main. I've been trying to level up with Platinum for a while, obviously, and I feel like I've come a very long way. But the more I get into actual high-level play, the more I feel like Platinum just isn't viable at all. From my experience, Plat really has no sure way to make a good opponent respect her offense that I can see. Swallow moon? 6B? Jump cancel a move? Try to do a stagger? All of these lose to most, if not all, characters' 5As alone. And it goes without saying that higher level players will see through all such gimmicks most of the time and know how to stop them cold. And I see no way to 'condition' opponents who know what they're doing into respecting those moves. When I try to look at Platinum videos for some inspiration, but oftentimes I see Japanese Plats having what looks to me like similar problems. It's just as irritating not being able to control the flow of matches most of the time. Anyway, I guess I just posted this cuz I'm salty to see how you all felt about Platinum's viability in high level play. Do you know how I feel or am I just bitching? Is Platinum worth sticking it out with? It's not like there's a lot of top players who bother to play her besides for the lulz. It's not like I just HATE Plat or I lose 100% of the time. In fact I win more than I lose, but against strong players with more solid characters it's a hugely uphill struggle. Or is it? I want your opinion. Am I just not being manly enough for teh loli?
  18. If you time it right (wait a split second) it will beat it out.
  19. Not sure if this is known or not but 2C will either trade with tk hotaru (I think that's his reversal move) if done early and allow you to hit Hakumen with 2A or it will beat it out completely if you wait a split second. And his tk overhead move (2147C) will get beat out by 6A.
  20. Her staffless normals chain into each other faster than in CS 2. And her ground Chun attack will have a big knockback effect now, sort of like what they did to her forward throw and her 4D in CS 2.
  21. Does 2C beat all her drive moves or just certain ones?
  22. Dash 2B beats any of her Lobelias clean.
  23. Okay, in order: I actually forget the rest of the combo as I was typing (the end part wasn't what gave me trouble anyway) so I just put something, and FADC is a Street Fighter term. My bizzle yo I just learned that combo 20 minutes before you posted it, lol. It's good shit.
  24. Quick question. I'm having trouble with this combo. It's a combo into Super Missile: Heartcar 5C 2C 236236D 6C 22C 5C j.CD land dash 2C 22C 5C FADC into saltiness Anyway, I have two questions here. Is this even the optimal combo in this situation? And if so, how do you guys time the 6C consistently? It kills me.
