Yeah I'm pretty sure there must be some limiter to it. But activate seems pretty safe as of right now, I've seen people attack on their way down from it. I don't mind honestly, as long as they aren't stupidly safe/good and just add to mid-combo mind games like Burst. (Edit: Yeah I see them get punished more now that I'm looking for it, they are unsafe, just not as stupidly unsafe as Burst is in GG). This game's systems do seem really cool, I'm just still not digging the moves-set. The card abilities seem alright, but the character moves for a large part just feel very canned. Maybe I'm just sick of the "loli girls emulating characters/moves from other fighting game series" after Queen of Hearts & EFZ. I'm beyond sick of the 'Buster' throw being in every fucking fighting game ever made. Seriously, you could write a list a mile long of all the fighting games the Buster throw is in. Edit: I updated the first post a little bit. I might add more later, I might not. Someone tell me what those Arcana's names are. Okay well it looks like in addition to getting new moves and supers with your Arcana, you also get an "overdrive" super. I guess you need to be in activated mode in order to do it, and it drains all remaining bars you had left. The fire-fox Arcana, for example, gets all this new stuff: Air Fireball (diagonal Downwards), Ground Fireball (diagonal upwards), Close range fire stream (air/ground), Super Fire Explosion Attack (short range blast, does a LOT of damage, maybe dashes forward like Mishio's?), Super Fire Stream Attack (like the normal but bigger), Firefox summon overdrive super. So yeah, you get a lot of new shit with your arcana choice. Effectively you get 2 new specials and 3 new supers with the Firefox arcana.

Cancel Super into Super. Good times. With 9 super bars I don't know how that won't end up being silly. Apparently you don't even need 1 bar to activate Super Heat Mode, I've seen someone do it with 0. It SEEMS to increase damage overall but it might depend on the card you choose. You also seem to get all of your boost bars recharged when you activate it. Being able to just escape combos that frequently seems ... eh... Well, maybe there's some extra requirement on it that we don't know about. Attack clashing is pretty much verbatim Guilty Gear style. Apparently on the HnK style blowback attacks, there is guard point (or at least on the Miko).

Well, the thing is that if you can force them to block a normal, you can probably continue into a mixup or pressure from there because you are already on the advantage. Why give up the advantage when you have it? Not saying that there aren't cases when you would want to do this though. Run away characters could use long JCable pokes to IAD backwards safely. -
Yeah it's fairly slow. Kira does look pretty stupid right now. Also VERY derivative and boring. 3x levels of SPD, Nitro Hook style throw, Heat Knuckle style throw, Final Atomic Buster throw. I wonder which move has 1-hit super armor and moves forward. This is actually the first time in a long time I've looked at a cast for an upcoming fighter and not thought anyone looks interesting at all. Mei Fang is the only character I have even remote interest in and she doesn't look very exciting as of right now.

Uh, he was just letting her get thrown, it wasn't a real match. Probably wanted to see all the different throws or see how many it takes to kill. But yeah, Kira does look pretty stupid right now anyway.

Techable means you can air tech out of it. Untechable means you can't. You can never tech standing on the ground in normal situations, but there are glitches that let you. You can also tech in some situations if you are hit OTG. Breaker Hits are just unblockables as far as I remember. They aren't unblockable in Slash though. Guilty Gear 1 is not considered part of the series anymore actually, so nothing from it really matters at all. You can't jump install in the middle of the air. If there were, it would have to be done on the ground, so it really wouldn't apply to that situation. -
You can flick the Razor move (where he sits reletively in one place and spins) and the 'attach' move that makes the yoyo target and stick to you. You can't flick the punchy one, but you can kill it by hitting it with the FDB physical hit.

I don't think you are ever invincible to throws after air teching. Normally on the ground you are invincible to throws for 5-6F after hit/guard stun (it actually changes depending on if it's a hit or guard). -
Akatsuki's f.B is a better poke than half of Fritz stuff and it hit confirms into 40-60% life. So yeah, I don't see what's very good abou Fritz.

What the hell does he do? His EX moves don't seem to do anything, his dashes are kinda laggy to do much with... and he can't cancel any of his normals other than his c.A which doesn't provide for decent rushing potential. His ABC overdrive is pretty good considering it seems to be unblockable. I guess his normals are stupid fast to come out... but they don't lead to good damage. Akatsuki is the same as always, although his projectiles changed their look slightly. ElektroSoldat is Guile. He's pretty cool... has some pretty basic combos in the corner, his projectiles guard break like a mother. Safe DP with [1] 7A 9BC. Lotta other random stuff. I like him.

Bump. New version of the game is out now (v2.01). I haven't tried it yet so I can't say what's new, but 2.0 sounds like a big step up from 1.0. -_-

T5 is a Japanese style and that's how GG is.

My Rei is probably still better than your Rei just because you never play the game. But seriously though, given how infrequently you and every else gets to play, it's no big deal. I just happen to have played it probably the second most of anyone around here and I just happen to learn new characters fast. When the console version hits, it's going to be a whole 'nother story.

All hits have a Level associated with them, which defines how much guard stun, hit stun, hit pause, and other things the move will cause when it hits. It has nothing to do with HOS's charge levels or anything else. It's strickly an internal mechanic. -
Yes I agree. But Pote is almost top tier in Slash anyway so I guess you can't really argue.

4r5 thought that gattling cancels happened on the first frame of recovery of a normal, but they actually happen during the active frames of a move when it connects. -

Jump Install you never actually leave the ground, you trick the game into giving you the jumps/dashes you'd normal get when leaving the ground. TK you actually leave the ground and do an air attack. The idea with BDC is that you cancel your BD into a jump and when you do that, the game doesn't take away the invincibility time you got (such as what would happen if you RCed a VV) even if you cancel the jump into a move. Of course, you CAN BDC with TK too... such as doing 442147K to do a TK Whappy thing. So you can do both JI and TK with BDC. Usually though, it's done with JI, such as with BDC Mappa or BDC Bite. -

BDC is JI, not TK. You have to leave the ground to TK. -

It was promo fanart done back when X2 was coming out. There was a ton of it done for Gamewatch. They knew the characters but not the new key layout, and such. Anyway, there's some really funny shit in this thread, and there's this loli shit. Keep your off topic loli crap out of this thread, and keep the funny stuff going.- 2,057 replies

The second combo in that is good yeah. The first one is terrible though, you wouldn't want to do that one. If you've got boost and hit 2B you might as well do... 2B 2B 236CE 6CDE 6, D 236D > IAD j.C |> 236D > IAD j.C |> 236D > IAD j.A |> 66D 236D > IAD j.D |> 236236A Or on the characters the close IAD j.C doesn't work on (Shin/Thouther/Raoh and a few others) you can do the j.A version. -

The times that combo is useful is if you start off a setup where you don't get any stars, you can get 3 OTG hits for -1 a piece. An example is if you connect 2B at mid screen against a standing enemy when you half less than a full boost bar. 2B 2B D 236D > j.C, j.D |> D 236D > sjc.A B A B D |> CD 236CE 6236AE Or I think you can do (as tian suggests)... 2B 2B D 236D > j.C, j.D |> D 236D > sjc.A B A B D |> CD 236236AE, 623A If you don't have IK mode active you can probably shortcut that as 236CD236AE. It's also useful off the DP setup: 623CE(3) 6ABE, D |> 236D ... etc. -

They've been doing that for a while, just not often.
