Alternating between human and wolf form during combos is pretty difficult , at least for me, strictly human combos like 236d in the corner is fairly easy but his full length combos as you alternate between the two was kinda difficult for me. Not enough variation that I don't have to do sj.2a. I'm not saying there isn't any variation, just not enough for me right now is all. And it doesn't mean I don't love this series to death but I'm looking forward to that Kishin/OD lab work is all, like how you have so much variation in GG thanks to frc's. (Waiting to get blasted by someone for putting "GG" "frc's" "BB" and "OD" all in the same sentence)

I'm not complaining about his execution level, I don't want a main who has the execution level of Valkenhayn lol. I just want combo variation and varied combo routes depending on your positioning on the screen. Hakumen shouldn't be a character who has high execution since he can't outright destroy other players the same way Valkenhayn or Eddie can in their respective games. Easier combos, easier to use than they are, but at the same time not easy use effectively nor straightforward strategies to win either.
-
While his execution is obviously easier since he uses more specials in his combos compared to before, because you his increased meter gain, the need to avoid Same Attack Repeat. I feel his combo routes aren't so straight forward which is something I like, A LOT. Since you always knew what combos to go for depending on your screen positioning and stars. Close to the corner? j2a loop Midscreen? Bnb corner carry combo/enma combo Grab? Staple grab bnb combo Counters? Strict counter combos Counters in the corner? Corner counter combos Kinda boring and linear for my liking.
-
I've actually rather grown to dislike his combo system (gives me at least some level of carpal tunnel, when I play him for extended periods of time). But I see this changing with his OD combos and the new BB combo system coupled with Repeated Same Attack forced proration forcing you to be constantly aware of the moves you used, what your starter was how much time do you have left in OD, screen positioning, and how many magatama you currently have.

My inner blackanese always wanted to see a combo video done to this song: Also I'm glad his CSEX version got a combo video to Holy Order III since that is my favourite song to my favourite main. I think I remember what you're talking about, Spark partially used these combos back in EVO 2011 correct?
-
he had corner carry combos in cs2?
-
I'm down for this as well, people hate on all my mains. So I'm already #FGCBased. Also what's with all this nonsensical talk about mAc being the counter friendly player when I've trademarked Yukikaze™ since CS2 (when I could effectively play on stick)? One man's terrorism is another man's well served justice.

[CP] News & Gameplay Discussion (Old)

Her combos are still (seems to be by design) and limited options and mixup (also by design). I do see more potential in Izayoi, but not so much in Bullet. -
yea I remember this happened to me once, so safe to say it's an xbox port problem. Loops like both ports have their share of issues :P Lol ArcSys with their #NorthAmericanDeadGames.

Yea he's been one of the best hazama players since I think CS2, though I only heard of him since CSEX. You'd be surprised by how many of the dominant players in BB used to be dominant GG players. I love SNK Engrish, the only Engrish that tops ArcSys Engrish: EDIT: My fav ArcSys Engrish images: Followed closely by -
OK just tested it, the game doesn't freeze on Slash A.D 2172 on the xbox, it's just the ps3 that seems to have this problem. Btw is GGR still supposed to be released on consoles next week?
-
Huh? That's also what I'm referring to when I say they did a shoddy job on porting the game on ps3. I feel like there's more bugs to discover on the ps3 port for this game than the xbox version.
-
Fun fact for those of you who are hella sadlife with it. Slash A.D 2172 on the ps3 causes the game to freeze up, regardless of the characters you're using. Tested it 4 times, going to recheck on the xbox version later today. I feel they did a shoddy job on exporting the game to the ps3 compared to the xbox.

It's all good tuesdays it is, I'll be free after next week for Gundam, GG . -
Superman is exactly what I thought he would be, a hybrid between Hakumen and Ky. Although I don't own the game (yet) I love the way he plays from my limited experience with him.

No that's exactly my point, a broke/dumb character will body your shit most likely ocne you make a mistake once the player using them has a relatively good understanding of the game/character. Kirbster makes it sound like Hakumen is hella dumb and hella easy to win with when if we look at the statistics between us I've only been able to keep up with him back an forth is because I needed to get pro advice on how to use him. that's not what a dumb character is about, so obviously what I'm getting at is that it's not that easy to use Hakumen optimally in every match up and against every player. You're more reliant on fundamentals, footsies, and simply outplaying your opponent. Instead of crazy mixup and anime rush down tools. Yes compared to the stronger CS1 cast members: Litchi, Bang, Hazama, Tao, he wasn't that great. I'm not saying he wasn't a step above CT, it's just that he was nowhere near as solid as his CSEX/CP counter parts, mixup and stronger neutral game is what I'm mostly referring to. THANK YOU. No it's fine this issue would've come up anyways, people have been bitching about him since he's potential was shown when Kakyuu did that 9k combo in a-cho. And they complain about him everytime he's not completely ass. But no one bitches about Tao (whose been amazing in every version of the game except in CT I think), Valkenhayn (with his lolmahvel pressure), Hazama (and his easy combo route and obnoxious neutral game). It's actually quite obnoxious how he's always hated on whenever he's good but these characters I mentioned above have been in the top 5-6 characters in every game this far. And hakumen regularly loses to them or has bad matchups with them. Burstable high damaging combos, aka Mugen aka the worse install super in the game? Keeping in mind he loses A LOT when you burst out of his typical combos, supposing they do nerf his OD. It would take a HUGE hit on his damage potential, already landing Zantetsu (his best starter) in a combo is really rare outside of OD, because as soon as people see the animation they burst out of it. When that happens Hakumen loses meter almost equivalent to a super, his spacing, and is forced back into being at a disadvantage. No one does that anymore, OD with 10% health after using in the beginning of a round is only useful if your opponent is careless and doesn't flat out destroy you before you can even use the OD in a combo. It's his method of being a game changer, and burst hurt him a lot, the only other character that loses more from bursts is Azrael, and you could see how that caps his damage potential most of the time. it's why his combos have become significantly burst safe since CSEX, because once again, CS2 that also gimped his damage output. Losing your potential damage, oki, and meter while being reset back into neutral hurts his gameplay. Hakumen's character design is fucking genius and without proper management he could easily become broken, why do you think he was so ass in CT? They were afraid they gave him too many powerful tools, but in actuality it wasn't enough when put into a match, and they had to rework these tools to be more practical. EDIT: Smart players with any character are scary, look at Goro with Makoto/Jam or Kuresu with Tsubaki/Izayoi. Or better yet Dora with Bang and Mitsurugi and Hazama. -

Did he win the match? NO ultimately, Suzume lost to a better player who was using a weak character. Unless Hakumen si on Kliff pre-GGR level he's not that strong. He always has high damage output it's what he does, without ti he's shit because he's slow as fuck and needs to capitalize on his opponent's mistakes. When he has shit damage he's shit, cs2, where almost everyone had higher damage output than him and better mixup. I would understand your argument if Hakumen had a godly Valkenhayn/Millia Rage like mixup with the damage output he's had in every version of BB outside of CS2. But he's not unstoppable, it's Misturugi who's at the top of the DAN rankings and every and their mom who plays Hakumen. How often do these scenerios even take place? It's not that often. Without OD his dmaage output barely even peaks at 6k anymore anyways, which he could easily break through with 5-6 stars in the corner, now he needs OD to do that. CS1 Hakumen wasn't THAT good. I remember I was watching some replay of CS1 Hakumen and I realized apart from his damage off anything his neutral and mixup game was still lacking compared to his CSEX/CP counter parts. Pretty much http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=oLnijHinbDs#t=74s ^that wouldn't happen in previous versions of BB. Well that's because they want to make the game more offensive and faster paced, so obviously defensive tools/characters had to be adjusted, but doesn't take away from the fact that he still follows the defensive arc-type. I'm cool with it, because it's very difficult playing this character when your opponent doesn't really make mistakes on defense, like teching every grab and blocking overhead attempts. Damn! It's that bad bro? @Kirbster, if Hakumen is THAT autopilot and OP, why don't me and Nolan regularly body you for free? If you guys feel he's that easy to win with (keeping in mind no one in Japan has jumped on him extensively because he's a strong character), why don't you guys sub him and prove me wrong? Though more likely you'll see what I mean about his weaknesses, he has weaknesses just learn to exploit them instead of hoping for him to get patched into CS2 mode where you have nothing to fear on offense/defense/neutral. Which defensive arc-type's are supposed to be scary on defense, hence why they're defensive types. -

I'll be done exams by then, I try to show up for that. Learning Cherudim, the poor man's Strike Freedom. I suck too much in this game to use 3k gundams. I was thinking somewhat the same thing since this is my last semester for my bachelor's degree. This is coming from a guy who has a high damaging character as well lol. Hakumen isn't that strong. I haven't been watching new anime, I've been actually going backwards if anything. Watching old shows that get a lot of hype. Anime Hylia is an amazing site to download anime btw. He's not that strong. And they won't come out with a patch unless something or someone in the game is broken. Not really. He's not not some herpaderp unstoppable force of destruction. You mean where he still somewhat sucked? Yes he's just a very solid character, he can't autopilot his way to victory. And no Tager NEEDS you to make a mistake to win, so long as you don't take excessive risks and optimally capitalize on tager's mistakes you can win. Pretty much, CP he's looking good with actually cool/fun looking combos instead of AC x n>GF for every combo lol. That confidence? glad to see you intend on avidly playing this game now. -

I would actually like to see this, I'm surprised they announced terumi as a playable character, I guess that could also explain why they've maintained the name "Hazama" on the character select screen despite the more informed cast members outright referring to him as Terumi. But I would really love to see Trinity playable, especially since I don't like Platinum's design. I hate charge characters as well, i tried to learn Axl and to some level Hulk in the older Capcom games and said fuck it. I want to sig this. I thought that official translations said kagura was a girl? i was surprised to see Kagura is a guy. -
It's a way of saying "make them respect you and your pressure/oki", by default most players don't respect you nor your characters oki/pressure. SO they try to get out of it or knock you out of it as soon as it is initiated. Your job is to make them realize that they must block your pressure and oki otherwise there will be greater consequences for not doing so for mashing or trying to jump out.

I'm bringing a copy of both gundam and BB, but secretly hoping for some more GG crack, still not satisfied. -
Eh-sama I would like to ask for a write up on the dreaded Baiken matchup and Venom as well. Though I basically follow your matchup template of Axl to deal with venom since essentially you must blitz both of them, due to their stronger zoning/keep away tools.

Haven't had time to finish it up yet, but you feel I should exclude GG references? And any other input besides that?
