I'm sure you've played any number of games on XBL within the last 6 years, I'm sure you can understand why some people don't like dealing with mics. Not to say there aren't people like that on PSN, but the less of it the better imo. Now if it is someone you know or someone you're friends with, it makes sense.

Do those work if you actually "hit confirm" them first or do they only work in a "just do it" scenario? 5C>j.A isn't something you would normally be doing since it would either be 5C>2C, 5C>5D, 5C>6A or 5C>6B, so that's why I'm asking. 5C>2C, 5C>6A, and 5C>5D combo so just doing them makes sense since you can hit confirm into a combo or recognize he's blocking. 5C>6B is of course a double overhead and you're basically looking for a CH or at least 6B is only -1 if they happen to block it as well. But 5C>j.A just seems like you would need to just throw it out there because if they DON'T block 5C (now in crouching state) I can't imagine j.A actually connecting and being able to go into anything. I guess what I'm asking is, is it worth it to even go into that considering all the other options available? 2D>j.A is a little more understandable because 2D>j.A combos at least, although you wouldn't be hit confirming whether that 2D was a CH or not since you are just defaulting to the non-CH combo anyway. So even if they do block 2D, going into j.A seems plausible. But even considering that, 2D is one of the few moves you actually have all the time in the world to hit confirm the difference between non-CH or CH (or block), so going into j.A immediately seems to forgo that and you're sacrificing stuff again. I am however getting ahead of myself because I haven't tried it out personally but those were my thoughts when I was thinking about it. I guess if I spend a little time on it I can see for myself how it works by comparison.

LOL I saw that the other day and that was one of the first things that came to my mind.

-Noel's 3C is -18 on block. It's practically a free punish if you throw it out predictably (without RC). So watch out using that too much since I got to punish you for it a lot. If it is spaced really far you might get away with it but I doubt it. -You delayed tech or didn't tech at all A LOT. I was reading it most of the time and that's extra damage + heat even if I continue a blue beat combo off it and you get knocked down again anyway. And if you delay and try to roll, it's easy to punish and actually "reset" into another combo anyway. The rolling / delay teching IS unfortunately apart of this game that I hate, but 90% of the time you really need to just neutral tech+block/DP. -Some of your bursts were in relatively bad spots. Against some characters those kinds of bursts will be easily baited or punished. -I would mention the D moves but they are stupid in general, but you still can't just go crazy with them cause you will get punished. 2D and 4D are especially "good" at catching people. -I would say work on combos and figure out what you should be doing at neutral but all that just comes with time / practice, so that's a given. You'll get there eventually. Just some things to think about.

GGs, let me know if you'd like some advice about things I noticed.

I never stopped playing on there, lol. I just play less on there than I do PSN, which isn't a lot already. Most of the time if I get on 360 it's cause one of my IRL friends asked me if I wanted to play something.
-
I'll play you for a bit since you're from MD.

Thank you. I've been saying the same thing for a while now, glad to see someone else noticed it too.

Matches from the "East" Danisen League Battle #3 have been uploaded: EDIT: Lock was requested since I'm done updating the rankings and posted the videos, not because of the conversation going on. Just wanted to make note of that in case anyone got the wrong idea once the thread does get locked. -

The longer you play in the league (and everyone else), the more accurate the rankings will be so that the more skilled players go into the higher ranks so the lesser skilled players don't have to play them anymore. Of course they might need to pick new characters who may or may not be better than your main anyway but regardless that's still more people to play and sooner or later that skill curve has to match up with your own rank (not speaking about you personally but in general). The chances of EVERYONE getting to 3rd Dan and above and staying there so you have no one to play against is slim. Not only that, new people could join or like I mentioned people could have to pick new characters. If anything you could tell other people about the Danisen League and maybe get more people to join, particularly any "new" players you come across who are within your skill level. Another thing I should mention is that the league has been happening once every two weeks. That is a lot of time in between league nights that a person could be practicing, but how much time you spend on that is entirely up to you. So if you're stuck in Kyu and want to get out, you should take that as a sign that you might need to step your game up IF you care enough to not be Kyu. But at the same time it isn't something you should be worrying too much about because you always have to play someone within your rank anyway. Of course the other person's rank might not be accurate if they are "new" or picked a sub and started over, but that's why this is good in the LONG RUN, unlike a tournament. Regardless, this is just another way for people to play BlazBlue together one night every other week for a few hours, so maybe that's all you should really look at it as. Hopefully no one gets too discouraged about their rank, and if they do and care enough about it, they should do whatever they feel they need to to step it up and not be at that rank anymore. EDIT: I just want to add that even if everyone somehow managed to rank up to 3rd Dan and a Kyu player or two had no one to play against the "rules" can be adjusted. I could just change it to be +/- 2 ranks of your own rank. As long as it is possible, I prefer to keep it at +/- 1 rank of your own rank because it preserves the integrity of the rankings. It doesn't allow some much higher ranked player to just beat up on the lower ranked players to rank up. Even if someone ranks up twice off "less skilled" players, if that rank doesn't reflect his actual skill compared to the league as a whole, the better skilled players who get to that same rank will proceed to demote him down a rank. In other words, getting your rank now is more about you earning it and keeping it. For reference, in some of the Japanese 3rd Strike Danisen Leagues which is what I based this on, they have it to allow 1st to 5th Dans can play each other. So imagine if we did that..... -

Rankings have been updated! Thanks again to Mirage for hosting the other room and giving results. Special thanks should go to Psykotik for stepping up and running the "West" League these last few times. Videos will be uploaded within the next few days at www.youtube.com/BlazBlueDanisen Next League Battle is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, June 16th. I haven't looked at the Events section to see if anything is going on though. The rankings are starting to get fleshed out. So I would like to see a lot of the 2nd and 3rd Dans sign up/show up for the next League Battle that way we can get more 4th Dans, and from that be able to have the 5th Dans play to open up the chance at 6th Dan and above. -

I haven't been playing in any of the new Danisens so I haven't had to deal with that problem, lol. But in the past I'm sure there were times when I wasn't concentrating good enough or wasn't completely focused on the match cause I was worried about how the other rooms were doing due to whatever might have come up in the chat. As the organizer and keeping track of rankings, I couldn't exactly leave the chat during matches to remove that distraction. Just one of those things I'd have to deal with and try to just play my game regardless of what was happening. -

Yes. I don't know if you remember but I made 1 (2 really) back during CS1 at least. And it is something I have thought about doing enough to the point that I have in fact kept the matches from the last 2 Danisen League Battles. That way I have them if I choose to go back and make a highlight video. I thought about making 1 for each month but since we probably only end up with 2 or at best 3 league battles per month I've held off on that. So I may decide to make 1 for each "season", so at the end of summer I could put 1 together for all the hype moments that happened. So yea, I've been considering that. -

Thanks to everyone who signed up, showed up, and played for the "East" league. Sorry for the weather delay and extended time, but we ended up playing more matches than we usually would so I guess that's good. I'll post a full update tomorrow. -

Just to update, the weather seems calm for now and no more tornado warning so I'm still going to go on with it. Anyone who still wants to play can get online. I'll be starting it at 7:30pm EST now. -

Just thought I'd let everyone know, they are calling for thunderstorms around here and it does look like it is going to storm. So if I don't appear online within a reasonable time of when the league is supposed to start, that is the reason why and the league will not happen tonight IF that happens. If everything is fine and we do get the league going, but later my power goes out in the middle of the league we will have a few choices: 1) I will use whatever rankings I had (hopefully saved) right before my power goes out. 2) If others are keeping track of the current rankings we can go by whatever they have when my power goes out. Meaning if my power goes out but the rankings on the computer aren't those current ones when it happens. 3) Someone else can step up and handle running the league for the rest of the time if my power goes out, IF they have all the current rankings accurate at that time. So I would like to request that at least 1 other person try their best to keep track of the rankings during the league in case this situation comes up. It doesn't matter who it is and the more people that do it the better just to be safe. -
Lol, honestly I don't really think about it cause it becomes pretty clear while playing. It is more like a statistical hypothesis if that would be the right term for it. If someone beats me 95 times out of 100, it'd be pretty stupid to consider myself on their level. But I don't have to worry about that cause I'll play whoever as long as the connection is good.
-
I'd like to think I'm pretty good at judging my own skill level compared to others, and could quite easily "group" certain players into that group, for me personally at least. If anything I'd say that "group" is the largest group for me, but I'm not him so maybe it is harder for him.

There's a reason why, consider it tentative. -
It's ok, I'd still play you if I was online.

Apparently Relius has a prosthetic "left" arm and "right" leg (or parts of it at least) going by his electrocuted sprite. Kinda interesting. EDIT: And for those who haven't looked before, Arakune = nothing special Bang = loincloth Carl = small Nirvana in the hat, connected to Carl's head Hakumen = "orbs?" and "circuits?" in the suit, so you don't see an actual skeleton. Hazama = ghost form Jin = nothing special Lambda = nothing special Litchi = nothing special (panda is getting electrocuted too) Makoto = nothing special Mu = nothing special Noel = nothing special Platinum = nothing special Rachel = nago / gii get electrocuted not really rachel Ragna = his "left" arm is different for obvious reasons Tager = radioactive symbol on torso, mechanical body obviously Taokaka = fish in big sleeves Tsubaki = the hat has "bones", the book gets an X for the eye and tears Valkenhayn = 2nd "sprite" is wolf form, but I don't know if that is just it's own electrocuted sprite or if they switch on purpose since everyone has 2 electrocuted sprites for animation but he only has those 2.

It's very annoying. I read that they aren't going to tech and even if I try to delay 2A or 2B I still get blue beat combos so I can't blow them up for it as bad as I should be able to. I'll take the extra heat and damage, but it's like oki doesn't even exist. I guess I could look into the most I can get out of the blue beat combos from them not teching and still end in another knockdown.
