PSN/XBL - Ranked Character Usage / "Popularity"
zeth07 replied to zeth07's topic in BlazBlue Online Play
I never had the PC version but if it works like the other games then the numbers would just be the total that have at least played the game online. Now if you actually looked at the monthly thing (assuming it's there), that's a different story, and would be surprising to me at least. The leader boards never reset to my knowledge for these games. So if you go to Rebel Points or whatever they were called in CT and go to the last ranked person, that would be the number of people who have played online on PC since it released. -
, and everyone that I played on Ranked. I really like using Bang online, people just don't want to block him. This infuriates me. Not so much if they DP, but 2A. I mean I don't expect people to respect pressure all the time, but 2A mash just pisses me off when I get hit by it.

PSN/XBL - Ranked Character Usage / "Popularity"

Cause Calamity Trigger was a "brand new" game/series so interested people bought it to at least see what it was like. PC getting 100k is reasonable compared to PS3s 500k and 360s 300k, so it's not that surprising. Continuum Shift getting lower numbers isn't surprising because the "average fighting game fan" already knew what to expect because of CT and it was no longer "new". So only people actually interested in the game would buy it by comparison. Extend pretty much took this a step further because on the surface it is "just another version" of CS, which means you REALLY gotta be a fan of the game to have a reason to buy it compared to the others. That's just the way I look at it though. And let me rephrase my previous post about CSE not being more active than CT. What I meant was CSE NOW isn't more active than CT WAS when it first came out / before CS1 released. Just so there's no confusion that someone might think CT even NOW is more active than CSE because I doubt that, or at least it'd be really weird. -
Isn't H4NZ0... ?

Here you go: raiza, feux, stayfree, lord_cruxis, iw2ma, GGJ, Shin (I think he subs Bang right?), Star-Demon, Skye (if he still plays on PSN), AXIS (if he still plays on PSN), catgrenade (random Bang player). That should cover a wide variety of skill levels / playstyles.

For what it's worth, when I went online for a minute there were actually 11 people on my friend's list playing the game. But I guess that doesn't really help you.
-
If you can get it from at least mid-screen "starting positions", it will be 6k+ and build it's own meter for Ashura. In the corner it was up to 7k. But of course if you are far from the corner or have your back to the corner you'll only get that lower damage without meter. Just wanted to clarify the "mid-screen" part so people aren't sacrificing big damage off the punish.

You mean the icons for the rooms? I think that's just a preference thing, it won't actually disable them. Unless you mean something else.

Logically speaking I would say no. -
What you said is not a rule. What I said is the rule, there's a difference. The issue is I explained it to you for why you can't use 2 characters, not only on here but also in the chat as I said. There's no reason to question me when I already explained it. Rule: -You can only use 1 character per night.... That's all you need to worry about as a player. It is the rule, that's what you go by, there's no need to question it because that's how it is. It explains itself very simply. -.....unless told otherwise by me. This then means if something comes up where a person may need to change characters for whatever reason, I as the organizer will let the player know. So with that said, and putting it together as the rule, it is very simple to understand and there should be no need to question it. For the reasoning of "WHY" you can only use 1 character, I specifically told you this in the chat room. Me being "rude" is because you clearly didn't take the time to read the rules to begin with, even outside of this example. So excuse me for not treating you with "respect" since you failed to treat this with any. Just to make it perfectly clear, I will further explain this "situation" in the rules so there's no excuse next time instead of just going by what I say. I don't know how much good it will do if people don't read them to begin with. I would like to enforce some kind of punishment for failure to follow the rules but that seems like something I shouldn't even need to do and is over-exaggerating. But maybe people would then take the time to actually read the rules for the event they are participating in.
-
Because that's NOT a rule and no one can "max out" a character. The rule is perfectly clear for what you as a player need to know. If the situation came up like it did for the West, it would've happened the same way. That's the rule. So if that situation came up, the part about "unless told otherwise by me." would've taken effect. ^ This was posted to YOU right after you signed up. Again I posted this to someone else. AND I even explained it to you in the chat room.

Just press buttons. But yea I'll play you sometime I'm sure. FRKZ combos are actually very easy and not complicated at all, they just seem complicated "on paper". In the corner I just go for CS2 Challenge #10, cause it's easy and does like 7k anyway. Then you just adjust it depending on the starter. Mid-screen, you just do the loop combo, 3 or 4 reps depending on the starter, still relatively easy....but maybe not on netplay. Majority of the time they'll be practically dead anyway so you can even simplify it, not even do a loop, and still get 5k.

There you go. After playing those matches with Toan, I honestly feel like I can't even give any form of real advice about Bang anymore.

No, I just took it from the PS3's numbers. -
Relax. I don't watch your stream or any matches of you playing, so I don't see anything. I'm just going by what you're saying, and if months worth of practice isn't getting you anywhere than I don't know what to say. But seeing Moy post a video of you still doing All Green like that after being told not to numerous times, I can't help but feel that anything anyone says is wasted on you. Sorry for actually trying to give you advice again, lol. I promise I won't say another word to you about this game.
-
I've said it to you in the past, but taking time to practice is important if you want to get better. And I mean ACTUALLY practicing, not doing dumb shit. Playing countless matches before you know how to "actually play", isn't going to get you far or it is going to be a long learning experience. Quote from the "How to Read Frame Data Article" "Any of you ever heard of Buktooth? Let me paraphrase him: "Match experience can replace knowledge, but knowledge can often let you come to conclusions that would otherwise require match experience."" This sort of applies to you in this case. I'm pretty sure at this point you've played more matches than me on netplay, and yet if we're being honest you probably wouldn't be able to beat me the majority of the time. Why do you think that is? You could spend countless matches trying to learn the game, or you could spend time in training mode and at least get some solid ground work for your character at least. But I've said all these things to you before, so this will be my last time.

Combos are important. Knowing how to play at neutral and being able to land a hit is also important. Knowing what to do after landing a combo and getting a knockdown into oki / mixup is important. Knowing how to defend against other character's oki / mixup is important. The difference between all them is that combos are the EASIEST thing to practice. You should know how to do a PROPER combo off each possible hit you may land at neutral. Another way to look at it, You could have perfect understanding of your character's neutral and even the opponent's neutral and how to land a hit. But if you can't get a proper combo off that hit you aren't going to get anywhere cause this isn't SF where basic attacks and fireballs in neutral tend to add up in damage. Now let's say you have ZERO understanding of neutral and just be random as fuck, if you know how to hit confirm into combos off whatever random hits you land, you might actually be able to win a round. The messed up thing is that this is the advice given to me by "good players", and much to my disdain, tends to actually work more than I think it should. My most recent matches with Toan were perfect examples of this. But I'm only saying this just so you realize doing combos are the easiest thing about this game, so there is no excuse for not being able to do the most basic and proper combos.

You can either upload them to your own channel or you can upload them to the BlazBlueDanisen channel. If you do want to upload them to the BlazBlueDanisen channel, please try and edit the matches together so that you aren't just uploading individual matches at a time. Depending on how many you recorded, you can make 1 or 2 parts. I got the upload limit removed so the length of the videos is not a problem. You also don't have to worry about the title or description since I can just go back and edit that myself if need be. Or you can wait til I upload the set I have and just follow the same format I used. You don't need to add any extra stuff like I did for mine though, you can just keep it simple. You can PM me if you want to upload to that channel and then I'll PM you the password.

Rankings have been posted: https://sites.google.com/site/blazbluedanisen/rankings Thanks to everyone who participated and those who helped with rooms. Thanks to Psykotik for running the league for the West group. Match videos will be uploaded within the next few days. Congrats to howling-_-moon for becoming 5th Dan with his Rachel and currently the top ranked player. Next Danisen League Battle is tentatively scheduled for May 19th, around the same time frame. Some other notes: -If your connection is terrible or you know people are using your internet at the same time, please remove yourself from the league for the night as no one wants to put up with bad lag. It takes away any enjoyment possible from playing these matches. -READ THE DAMN RULES. -LISTEN to me and the other hosts of the room and follow the directions given to you. If this was an offline tournament the tournament organizers would not let this kind of stuff fly. So out common courtesy and respect for myself and others taking time to do this, you should at least do this BARE MINIMUM asked of you in this case. Those are things I really should not have to even be saying.
-
Yes, they'll be uploaded to the Youtube account "BlazBlueDanisen" as I want to use that strictly for the Danisen League and hope that it eventually becomes more like a community shared upload page within the league. But I will be posting links for the videos after they are uploaded anyway. That's good to hear. I'll PM you the password within the next few days, I still need to increase the upload limit but can't use my cell phone anymore cause I apparently used it "too much" by using it twice for activation lol. Gonna use my brother's or something then I'll let you know it's ok to go. Psykotik whenever you get the chance you can PM me the rankings or just post them here and I'll put them all together.

GGs. At first I took your word for it about being "new to BB" and you were lv.1 so I backed off but that obviously wasn't the right choice. After that I automatically think you're someone's alt / someone who doesn't play online much and would've guessed someone in particular, but i'll take your word for it lol. And GGs to Toan for netplay matches. I swear half the blue beat combos I was getting hit by I was pressing buttons but whatever.
