You're so... wrong. Sword Iris is the very definition of controlling the battle field. Bang isn't that hard to keep out. "Taking it in close," against Bang is the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
-
Actually... I'd say somewhere below. So. Cat chair. Faster? More invulnerability? What's up with it?
-
CT Bang had good mix-ups.
-
That first round. The Rachel tried so hard... only to get GIGANTIC TAGER'd That's like saying cat chair is a spot on tactic for defending against a scrub noel's drive spam. Yeah, it will work. Until a good Noel comes along and frame traps your ass and defends against your gimmicks properly.
-
Bad opponents.
-
Well... Noel can still get big reward for outplaying you with riskier options. She has pretty decent tools for every situation, it's just that none of them individually shine and 6a's nerf kills her. Tsubaki has solid pressure, a solid anti air, a DP, a projectile DP, a projectile, decent air to air, range, and has the potential to do big damage with charge and heat. What sets Rachel SO far below these two is that she doesn't have ANYTHING that gives her any significant reward for being the better player. She doesn't have that potential. She just doesn't. She can't do something super risky and get 4k. Her damage is just too insignificant. What's worse is that she can't mix-up really well to compensate.

But is getting the pumpkin out worth it? It's not very good this time around and I'd think it might be better to set up some more poles between the opponent and myself. At least then you can stall their approach with sword/air iris and possibly set down another frog and keep stalling. Time out tactics ftw.
-
First round. Combo started with george. 50% heat and a wind. 3.5k. Ended air combos with j.2c and canceled it into 236 a to punish rolls. Interesting.
-
Yep. Well I guess I'll just sit in Player and pick Unlimited Rachel.
-
They could of at least buffed the umbrella swing so that it fell allot slower. =p It would be lols.
-
Which is why meterless Tsubaki and Noel's playing it safe aren't in Rachel tier. They're damage isn't great without pulling off some crazy shit, but they still have options to pressure. Oh... and they CAN fall back on going for crazy shit. Rachel has nothing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnaO0Dmg_7E 1:24 ~ CH 3c in the corner into 5b -> BBL Looked really cool. 3:06 caught my eye. Really interesting set up. Mid screen 6cd into 5b -> cdc -> frog -> 3c -> a lobelia -> cc -> whiffed a lobelia -> 3c. It all combos and sets up 2 poles for more potential damage during oki. 4:08 ASTRAL HEAT XD 6:56 back throw -> 5b -> BBL -> frog -> 3c -> 3c 7:08 Rachel GETS AH'd >_<
-
Same here. And if they end up jumping and the 6c hits you can still mash out 5d and react quick enough to drive juggle. I play allot of "flying" Tagers...
-
I wasn't too fond of her character design at first, but seeing from vids has changed my mind. I'll give this chick a shot before I make any decisions though.

Super BB:CS
-
Well I thought the problem in CS was that summoning pumpkin after took too long and didn't reach far enough so it ended up with her in a disadvantageous position.
-
TD not having invincibility is stupid as fuck.
-
On that Rachel vs Jin match... Round 1 when Rachel got jin into a corner frog combo she managed to land two lobelias during the frogs duration. If only that BBL would have landed >_<. I think if he would have replaced the 5b -> BBL with 6a BBL it might have worked. Yeah... Rachel got shut down at the end when Jin started poking from a distance.
-
I vote all Rachel players stick with CT and demand a patch or we won't move on to CS =p
-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_O3jgBYQk3w Rachel was so close >_< Pumpkin's hit stun doesn't seem to be THAT nerfed. We can still wind pumpkin to rush in and land a 5b. What I'm more concerned about, is if we can still 5b -> 5cdc -> summon pumpkin -> (short delay) 5d -> 5b -> corner combo from midscreen.
-
Didn't he only play Rachel because of the tier list? I recall him dropping Bang do to difficulties in a tournament setting. With Bang being high tier now... he has no reason to pick Rachel.
-
Your comment isn't exactly backed by substance either. There is allot to be examined. Shit, we don't even have frame data yet.
-
I wouldn't put too much faith in these first few weeks of analysis. Remember Carl was considered low tier when CT first came out.
-
At first I picked Rachel, but I couldn't do anything with her so I dropped her. Switched to Noel, who I had a natural affinity for. Picked up Tao because I played through her story and loved her character. Eventually dropped Tao because I quickly got sick of only doing CH 5c, throw, and 3c combos with no variety. Kept up with Noel for a while. Started to dabble in Rachel with more success than before. An here I is.
