  1. I mean, you can disagree all you want, but facts are right there. "i just don't see how I'll ever get that good" The problem is right in front of you.
  2. No. Just xcopying in general is bad. There's no "taking too much without knowledge", as taking any of it will disrupt your game. You're forcing yourself to do a specific tech into a style that you are not familiar with. They might open a different perspective, but no true information is obtain. If you wanna get better, go to training mode, practice whatever setup you think works. Then playing people online or offline, see what you're hitting them with, and capitalize on that. Otheriwse, you and flameice are living proof that videos hurt more than help.
  3. I guess I got lucky, that or maybe it's a typo. Play-asia shipped mine last night and ETA is tomorrow morning. I found that hard to believe, but every hour it keeps updating to a new city. Looks good from here.
  4. Thing is, this shows in your abilities when you play as well. Your Valk has those 2 styles, and it's very obvious when you go for X moves. As people would state, remember how people would complement my abilities in "reading" you? I'm merely just punishing your movement when changing to style 2 (one that isn't your own). Thus, with no plan B, you did not take in the factor if that trick would've worked on me to begin with. Watching YouTube can be a very, very poisonous thing when trying to improve.
  5. How do you go about canceling her bullet move, or whatever. Like, I've seen players charge, have her get next to the opponent, then go for high low mix up.
  6. Problem with that is, no one knows how to figure that out and try too hard to implement that trick into their game, giving way when the players attempts to do it. It's hard to say what goes for a player's style, sometimes not watching videos ever is usually the best. Sure, at times they give you a "grasp" on things, but to use match videos as a tool to help educate yourself on that character aside from the basics will only make you worse.
  7. That's 100% not true, since in the past my previous opponent has been hsien and no one else, yet that was all we needed to gain a status. Most players here think they're are better than they are, which is very apparent in flameice's case hence why he has yet to improve since day 1. Other players have also gotten cocky or have obtain bad habits and refuse to listen to advise from those with plenty of experiences. Naturally, these issues will continue until that "reality check" has been dealt with. Watching videos +8 hours a day does nothing to your game since you're merely trying to adept tech that does not effect your style nor the opponents. Try to play at your own pace and figure out the best way to optimize that situation. It's funny how people say I have a good read among my opponents when I play, when in reality, it's obvious to see someone's style change completely. 1 style, being their own, and the other style over takes their youtube abilities into play. Which, in this case, it becomes very distinct as to what the player is attempting. Everyone in Texas has this problem, unfortunately (I guess you can say in America as well). It's an easy fix, it's up to you'll to fix it tho.
  8. The scene is fine. Just that when a game is dead, there's no such thing as a "strong scene" for X game. The issue with you guys is attitude. We have very strong players still in the Austin area. A reality check is in need, however weather you guys accept reality is the question.
  9. First time play-asia failed me
  10. Proof the Austin scene is garbage: https://twitter.com/SuperFlameIce/status/391426112456118272 I love how flameice still can't beat me all this time after all this time he's spent on the game, where as I've yet to sit down and play it. I guess if he wins 1 game out of 100, he's happy. Sorry for falling asleep during our matches. EDIT: Holy shit, this twitter is comedy gold! But whatever, I'm still not getting a twitter, lol.
  11. No doubt about it. The previous versions didn't seem to sell This well. I wonder what they did different in terms of advertising. Maybe the anime got people to buy it? Lol.
  12. The game is really hard to get a hold of as most import sites are having difficulty grabbing the game on time. Play-Asia is really good at getting the game to your location on the day of release with 3 day shipping. However, with BBCP, it seems like they've yet to send anything out yet. Was hoping to play this game by tomorrow, but looks like Saturday if I'm lucky.
  13. This topic is fuckin' terrible.
  14. I'm more concern as to which PS3s would be best to play on. Seems like the fat and the first version of the slim are alright (sometimes? I've seen them have their bad days as well). What kinda confuses me is that the Super Slim is $100 less than the first Slim. I guess Sony knows how bad the Super Slim is as well? I dunno.
  15. Just to prevent confusion, yeah, this is the PS3 I'm talking about. http://www.cromaretail.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/PS38001374977_a2826448ed_k.jpg
  16. Essentially, it's a topic I'd like to reassure in order to determined if any of the BlazBlue titles will suffer from enormous lag or slowdown during play. During the CT and CS1 days, coming off from Arcade to PS3 gave no issues in readjusting, even during long sets of play. However, as CP is right around the corner, I've been noticing and hearing a lot of issues in regards of PS3 lag for some time, and wondering if it has to do with specific model of the console, how the game is made, or whatever. And since BlazBlue is going to be Sony exclusive, I feel like now is a good time to touch light on this topic. Capcom games suffer immensely from slowdowns on the PS3 due to hardware compatibilities (games just not fully designed onto the PS3). Where as 3D fighters, people normally prefer the PS3 in order to obtain optimal performance. Now with that said, and from my previous statement, I've never had an issue when it comes to slowdown with the previous BlazBlue titles... however... It's come to my attention that the recent models of the PS3 tend to over heat quiet easily. The "Slim, Slim" PS3s (I forget the name) tends to have poor performances even for 3D fighters, as I notice Tekken players complain about slowdowns during bound combos or stage transitions. Of course, these slow down issues effect non-fighting games as well. Aside from poor reputation on dull gameplay, I've also bear witness the poor performance Injustice has on the slim, slim PS3s, making it almost impossible to punish certain moves due to heavy input delay. Capcom games are a given, as games like Marvel vs Capcom 3 tend to slowdown as time goes on, however, it's been noted that some models of the PS3 tend to be worst than others; most and foremost, the slim, slim. It's became a concern to me, as I'd like I avoid anything that can dispute gameplay flow, but I guess my question would be: How bad are the "slim, slim" PS3s? And are they viable for tournament play? I guess we won't know this for sure until CP's release date, but any feedback from previous experiences on the slim, slim PS3 from other people here would be great. Share your story if possible, and shed to light onto the issue here.
  17. BlazBlue combos need to be tone down a bit. However, I don't enjoy the SMP system in Blaz as it forces restrictions in combos to unnecessary levels, making it too tamed (thus boring). Had the characters in BlazBlue gain better design choices in terms of normals and moves, this possibly won't be a problem. Since they are putting SMP restrictions on almost every single move, well I just hope the CP characters have more to offer.
  18. I'm changing the password to this account. Actually, I think I'll just use it for now on instead of trying to call out flameice for running tournaments poorly.
  19. Fuckin' sigh. Why are you guys trying to sabotage my free win by not allowing me to team with Kenneth?
  20. Okay, once I figure out this capture card stuff and destroy EVERYONE!! I play quiet often, actually. Wouldn't mind playing others when I get a chance. Also, next tournament is Oct 13 (a legit UFO one), and yes Persona 4 Arena will be on the line up. Don't know if it's going to be Teams or Singles. What do you guys think?
  21. Seems like our next tournament maybe on Oct 13 since a Houston one is happening a week before and they announced their event sooner than us.
  22. That's funny. Basically when playing Persona 4 Fighter online, people with headsets tend to whine or talk shit. This dude takes the crown on the whining. I've played Modern Warefare 2 and 3 for a bit with some buddies, and I've never heard crying as bad as this guy. It was funny, too bad he left before I got anymore of it recorded. It's hard to be disappointed from a game that you knew was going to flop
  23. I remember first seeing Skullgirls thinking it was KoF 97. Oh how disappointed I was when I found out it wasn't KoF.
