Rods/seeds are still great for punishing Arakune when he goes for a cloud or when he teleports. Pumpkin is a good way to approach Arakune too. Also, if you're cursed- there are some better places to get hit than others. In some parts of Arakune's block strings, if you get hit that actually throws off his damage by a lot. Now, it's a lot better if you don't get hit, but just saying if you do get hit- it's better to eat 2k damage than 10k damage. jC is still your friend in this match up too. It really hasn't changed that much from CT, other than Arakune can destroy you in one combo while you can't destroy Arakune in one combo. Pre-curse Arakune's zoning is probably the one zoning setup in the game where Rachel wins most of the time. And 6A doesn't eat clouds for free. But... 6A's still a pretty good anti-air against Arakune.

Ok. For one, the lasers aren't that bad. They have no hit stun at all so it's not like vs Litchi where getting hit by one of those things means you're going to be missing a big chunk if your life. However, the thing is Rachel's projectiles are all pretty damn slow compared to Mu and it's not that hard for Mu to keep Rachel at a distance, especially when Lobelias bounce off of lasers and lasers eat pumpkin for free (zoning character who can't zone ). Actually, Rachel's best chance is a rush down game. Mu isn't that great under pressure and her DP is pretty easy to bait. If you try to zone Mu, you're going to flat out lose. However, she doesn't have much to get out of Rachel's sad mix up game if you keep an eye out for that DP (which if you block is a free 5B). If Mu's in the air spamming lasers, catch her with jC if you have the chance. jC air to air is still pretty good. Rachel can also cat chair through her slow two hit overhead for free (start up on that thing is slow and it's really obvious). So keep this in mind if they like to use this in block strings. Also, when Mu does command laser, her pew pew orbs disappear... so that's a good oppertunity to get in on her. If she doesn't have lasers up, air dash + wind + jB is not a bad way to approach, especially if you have pumpkin/george backing you up. Oh yeah... if you have rods out, you can give her some of her own medicine and punish her for shooting lasers (only you can actually get damage off of your lasers).

No. Makoto's everything beats Rachel's everything. Orb > Seeds. Makoto's oki game is better because of orb. Makoto's normals and damage output are way better than Rachel's. It's probably another 4:6 or 4.5:5.5 for Rachel. At the moment it doesn't seem like one of those bang head against the wall match ups, but it's by no means a good match up. Then again... with Makoto evolving the way she is, this could change.

Ok. New update- I need a count on people who can bring CRT TVs. Also... I guess I'll have to hop over to SRK and see how the gathering of Super setups is... I know there's a few people around here with them. >_> Whatever we can't bring, I'll poke at the Akicon staff and ask if they can let us borrow some stuff.
-
So... is the match up chart ever going to be updated to something resembling current?
-
Is that for 5C FC or just a normal 5C? Well... either way, random 5Cs are a lot more difficult to land than random 6As.
-
<3 Thanks much! I'll add your name to the list of volunteers.

All three of them are awful, but I think Tager's more viable for competitive play than Rachel and Tsubaki. *looks at SBO qualifier results* Tager has match ups that are more one-sided, but at least he has enough damage to save him from some situations. Tsubaki and Rachel don't have that. As for which is worse between Tsubaki and Rachel... well... Rachel has worse match ups than Tsubaki, but overall Rachel does have stronger options (Tempest Dahlia isn't as worthless as Tsubaki Install, and BBL can at least provide somewhat decent damage if you work hard enough for it... plus Rachel actually has oki). But... I think performance-wise, Tsubaki does better than Rachel (then again I haven't seen a video with Tsubaki in it that's any sort of current). But... IMO the only thing that keeps Rachel up at all is her 5A/2A. If she still had CT versions of those moves, she wouldn't even be worth playing.

Wat? Gib please.

For obvious reasons, it's probably not a good idea to bring pirated versions of the game. Does anyone else have a non-pirated version of the game? GGAC+ is now covered. We need one more copy of MBAA, one more PS2, two more PS3s. BBCS copies I'm not worried about since pretty much the whole scene has the game. 360s might be a problem though (and 360 copies of Super, though I know I can hustle Landis to bring his copy)... but I'm kind of hoping SRK guys will step up with that. Haketh- lemme know if the TV you're bringing is CRT.
-
Sweet. Also, atm- I'm the only one running it so pretty much whatever I say goes. XD; Munsu also volunteered to help out. If anyone else wants to, lemme know. :3 But thanks~ I'll mark it down.

For lulz: 6A Tempest Dahlia dash 5B air combo. Does about 3.2k with only one wind and 50 meter. XD; Probably the only way Tempest Dahlia can be used in an actual combo. Only problem is obviously it needs to be level 3 or level 4 TD to do the air combo after. But, level 1 and level 2 will combo off of 6A.

Sorry. XD; I've watched so many that I don't remember. But if I stumble on it again, I'll link.

I can tell you what I know now. Top 4 (I dunno exact order, but I'm guessing) was Spark, Veteru, Dacidbro and zONG_1. Grandfinals was Spark v. Veteru. Spark won. :3 -
Nope. XD;; I'm texting Kaigu and Tae for updates. Lolol. I wish I was there though. It sounds like a lot of fun.

There's one setup for 5C fatal counter, but it's kinda gimmicky. OTG into frog, then poke them with like 2A or something. When they tech, press 5C and if they're pressing a button they'll get FCed. I saw Matsu in a video do it, and I did it on accident myself once.
