  1. Okay, here are the updated brackets for America: Lamebot/Arvoyea were having problems connecting so I've swapped Arvoyea with newcomer Morrigan (Beako). Also, 0-4 and Rip2ya have yet to contact me and are the only ones remaining who I have yet to hear from, from the original first round.
  2. Ack I need to read followup posts Okay, Beako (Morrigan) is taking VR's spot. Since there are no extra signups from Europe, Europe Odin and Gief will have to advance and play each other next. Sorry for the mixup.
  3. People that are currently waiting for opponents to show up: gymhe, Lamebot, Sanoshi You can either come to our IRC channel (#reloadonline on irc.chatspike.net) and contact Eiji there (he is SupaTenko), or contact Eiji on MSN @ loldjez@hotmail.com.
  4. The people who signed up that haven't posted have PMed me either here or on IRC. They're aware that they have to fight you so don't worry. If Eiji doesn't show up in the next 3 days then you're advancing to the next round.
  5. Here are the Europe brackets: North American Brackets have been updated once more with the final entrants list (scroll up to view them). You may begin playing at any time! If you want a practice game or two then discuss that before hand with your opponent, otherwise your next games will count as tournament games. And now for some more rules: - Game rounds set to 3 in ggxxnet_config - Must win best of 3 games to advance (Best of 5 for Winners'/Losers'/Grand finals) - Character switching is allowed, but only for the loser. When you move to a new opponent, you're allowed to change characters if you wish to (ie. you're not 'locked' in from having won against someone else). - In the event of Sync Error, game will be replayed, BUT, # of rounds won by each opponent will be kept. So if there is a sync error in round 4 where P1 is winning 2-1 in rounds, then players must reset to the same # of rounds by using IK or whatever. - Post results here once matches are complete. - Player disconnects will result in a loss of that particular game for the offending player. This includes disconnects as well as soft resets. - You have 3 days from right now to play your first opponent. Each additional round will be given 3 days of leeway. - Upload all replays and post them here.
  6. Okay here are the brackets for this thing Tournament starts on Sunday so entrants will still be accepted until then! Some more rules are forthcoming as well.
  7. Most North Americans play on Sara's Wingdreams server. Website: http://guiltygear.wingdreams.net/ Lobby address: guiltygear.wingdreams.net/lobby.cgi And yeah, it is pretty dead during most mornings/afternoons, as people typically don't get on until ~8-9 PM PST or so.
  8. It's a good thing you took a pic of the menu! You need to turn Shortcut on, from the ingame Options.
  9. Okay! The first ranking battle will begin starting on Sunday, and will last a full week, ending on Saturday. During this time you must meet up with your scheduled opponents and play; failure to show up will result in the absentee(s) being eliminated. Since this is the first run through of this there are bound to be some problems, so bear with me. Brackets to come shortly.
  10. More specifically: 1) Goto www.a-cho.com 2) Click on the Arcade square 3) For vids, click the orange text box directly above the Millia icon in the menu
  11. You need to forward your ports. (Time out means the port isn't open) Instructions for doing so are on the first page of the Official #R PC Thread, first big quote box.
  12. Right now I'm looking at the week of August 16-22nd for the first Ranbat, which will be #Reload. Depending on player turnout/interest, I might run a GGX ranking battle after a few #Reload ranbats just for fun. Player list has been updated, a week and a half left to sign up!
  13. If you right click -> View Image on any of those sprites (or just save the entire webpage!) you'll see that those are already full-sized sprites which are scaled down to display in a lower size for web viewing.
  14. List has been updated with those who signed up yesterday. Changing Delay setting to < 4 should be fine, so long as both players agree. However, I'm not really sure how to handle situations where two players are unable to play each other, even with Delay 6 assist. Right now I'm thinking that dropping them lower in the bracket or even forfeiting the match are the only possible solutions. Not sure if this should apply to only one of the two players or both, as it'd be tough to determine who is at fault. Any thoughts on this?
  15. Thanks a lot, BioLogIn! Did anybody else notice the huge (30%) tension gain during the superfreeze of NO vs Dogura? It happens at 1:17, right after NO gold bursts and fires off a Dark Angel. Seems like a superfreeze glitch where the 2% increased tension gain from Robo-Ky's delayed getup, occurs continuously during the superfreeze (tension gain stops as the freeze stops).
  16. Most likely there will be another list in Arcadia made up by top players sometime after SBO, which will likely be the definitive list for AC. That is, unless the GGXX series refuses to die and AC becomes a cult classic much like ST has.
  17. Okay so this being a ranbat and all, there should be points involved. Here's how it'll work: 1st - 9 pts 2nd - 7 pts 3rd - 5 pts 4th - 4 pts 5th - 3 pts 6th - 3 pts 7th - 2 pts 8th - 2 pts 9th+ - 1 pt (participation) Current standings: Results of GGXX #Reload on 08/16/2009 32-man bracket 1 Teyah (9 pts) 2 Scarecrow (7 pts) 3 tokie (5 pts) 4 Kharhaz (4 pts) 5 Rip2ya (3 pts) 5 BloodyRain (3 pts) 7 HUGOV (2 pts) 7 gymhe (2 pts) 9 Arvoyea (1 pt) ? 9 s0be (1 pt) :KY: 9 MrTopHat (1 pt) 9 Sol-Bumguy (1 pt) 13 0-4 (1 pt) ? 13 KayinN (1 pt) 13 Morrigan (1 pt) ? 13 Atomsk (1 pt) 17 Sanoshi (1 pt) 17 Hayato (1 pt) 17 Platfarmer (1 pt) 17 Lamebot (1 pt) 17 Orrax (1 pt) ? 17 Ky-Sama (1 pt) :KY: 17 Reppuken (1 pt) ? --------------------------------------------------------- With the Guilty Gear scene rapidly dying off in all parts of the world (except for maybe Japanese arcades), I've decided to begin a GG Ranking Battle (ranbat) season in an effort to spark some life into the online GG community. Since a lot of you probably don't know what a ranking battle (or ranbat for short) is, I've graciously stolen an explanation from the Norcal GG thread: Here are the preliminary rules I've got in mind. Games: GGXX #Reload PC, GGXX Slash Naomi, GGXX Accent Core Naomi, GGX Naomi Format: seeded Double Elimination, rounds set to 3 (not 5), best of 3 games per set. Best of 5 sets for Winners'/Losers'/Grand finals. If there are fewer than 8 entrants, tournament will be Round Robin. - Since this is mainly for fun / online play shouldn't be taken seriously, we'll be switching between games every few ranbats or so to keep things interesting. All of these games are playable on PC right now @ 60 fps via emulation, save for GGXX:AC since nobody has lent out the disc to the rom dumpers as of yet. Once emulated Naomi netplay hits (it's coming sooner than you think!) we'll be able to include games from the entire main GGX/GGXX series in these ranbats, and not just play only #Reload. - Separate ranbat tournaments for North America and Europe, due to inevitable lag issues. - Games will be played on Delay 4, but if you cannot connect to your opponent, games will be attempted on Delay 6. Yes that's right, Delay 6 will be used if necessary. - If you still can't connect to your opponent, swaps may attempt to be made between you and someone else in an equivalent or lower position on another side of the bracket. - Tournaments will be run over the course of like a week. So no worries about time constraints really, you should have plenty. And that's all I've got for now! Please post your comments/suggestions/reactions to this below. And don't forget to sign up if you're interested! You can either post here or contact me (Teyah) on IRC at #reloadonline on irc.chatspike.net. Hopefully I can get the first of these up and running in a few weeks. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Current signups list - North America (23 entrants) Teyah Atomsk Rip2ya tokie Reppuken KayinN 0-4 Orrax Hayato Sanoshi Platfarmer VR Arvoyea s0be Kharhaz HUGOV MrTopHat Scarecrow Lamebot gymhe BloodyRain Sol-Bumguy Ky-Sama Current signups list - Europe (8 entrants) Eiji freelander Nehle akabane_kurudo Anbicion skyrape Gief Europe Odin
  18. I was out of town for the weekend when the latest a-cho was posted, and it appears to be off the site now. Can someone upload these Flashget'd .wmv files to sendspace/megaupload?

    Baiken in #R

The visual cue I used to use in #Reload for this was waiting until the bottom half of Baiken's body was offscreen, to input the second 6 in the airdash. Eventually you'll just get it down to muscle memory, with enough practice.
  20. Haha, I used to play this game back on zbattle when I still had dialup. Back in 1999 or so. Surprisingly, zbattle kicked ass and the game lagged less than current-gen games (okay, BB) on my cable connection. I mained Wing (not Wing Zero)... I think. The one with the better DP with mega invul, lol. I was aware that all of the other Wing's moves were better but that didn't matter! I loved that DP too much to switch. If you guys are down, we should totally zbattle this game for a night of laughs.
  21. No problem. If you saw those terms on the Evo stream during GG finals then that was most likely me, haha.
  22. Broken pressure is the act of creating very small, unexpected gaps that allow you to rush back in and continue mixup. Example: far Millia 2K (+1 frame advantage), short run into immediate 2K-5K hitconfirm. This may work due to the opponent expecting a tick throw (of course, you can go for the tickthrow if you think it'll work). Frame trapping is the same idea, but generally refers to creating a situation where you have frame advantage and fish for a counter hit. Millia doesn't really use this since she doesn't have any reasonable pokes that lead to highly damaging combos on CH. (Regular) trapping or more often just called pressure, is just putting your opponent in an unfavourable situation which is hard for them to escape. You make it hard for them to escape or force them to guess on a mixup or series of mixups. Millia can do this after laying an FB Disc or Disc in corner - if the first mixup is blocked, there's enough time / frame advantage to do another mixup safely.
  23. Baiken can only do 412S and 412H after blocking a move. You can't block a Pot Buster since it's a throw. Just don't throw out a bunch of normals before you do it, if you're worried about counters (although you can Pot Buster to grab all of the grounded counters anyway, if you're in range).
  24. Sorry about my lack of posting / communication about this, I just got back from a (fairly lengthy) island vacation. But I'm still up to handle the editing side if you slide me the files! I'll be on AIM from now onwards till whenever.
  25. Moving this to the main #R game issues thread. Does the ggxx.exe program run before patching? And what kind of error do you get when you try to open the patched ggxx.exe? (A screenshot would help)
