Yeah, the ones after GNT4 were awful. As for high damage, I feel like it actually helped the balance, especially since there were a decent amount of very different characters. Any character could win off of a few good mixups and reads.

In chess, it really is more like 5.3-4.7 in white's favor. The advantage is there, but it's not a 6-4 advantage.

Haha, nah Milln. I'm not the best at Worms, but I love the game. But, there are some games that I considered myself to be extremely good at, albeit not the best. Mario Golf Toadstool Tour - A friend and I had way too much fun with this game in middle/high school. As a result, we constantly had impressive hole-in-one's and eagles during sessions. It's rare, but sometimes I'll pop it in the Wii and play it for a while. Peggle - Peggle is an awesome puzzle game, and I'm still waiting on a true sequel. I may have been one of the first people to get the XBL achievement for 100% clearing all levels, including DLC. At one point, I'd get a bucket bonus around 90% of the time and could predict the ball movement about 4 or 5 pegs before shooting. Culdcept Saga (on the 360)- Half monopoly, half TCG. Unfortunately, this game was never big at all in the US, but it's a ton of fun. I collected 3 of every card in the game and played the near-barren wasteland of online multiplayer for a while. GNT4 - Ah, an awesome Naruto fighting game that never came out in the US. Three of my high school friends imported it, and all of us got very good at it. Well, I took it a bit more seriously and was stupidly good at it. That may have been one of the first fighting games I watched tournament videos for and practiced things constantly in the training mode. The game itself isn't that hard to pick up, which oddly enough, makes it fun. I could effectively use nearly every character. The only real downside to the game was that proration basically didn't exist, but spending 50% meter acted as a "burst" known as a KnJ (which could be baited too).

I got paid for 2 hours of watching new CP Tager matches. I love my job.

I'll be at fight night Tuesday too. If anyone has an old 360 wired controller lying around, bring it in please. I know Tad's getting me fixed up controller-wise once we're up there, but I need some sort of practice on a different pad before FR.

Awesome. Tad is the Easter Bunny, bringing baskets of gifts to all of the people in need on Easter weekend. Speaking of which, everyone's avatar needs to be updated with rabbit ears or eggs.

Double-post-of-slightly-calming-nature no jutsu. I still have a converter from last year, so all I need is wired PS1/PS2 pad or a wired 360 pad. I might try to borrow Tad's PS1 pad that I used last year. Or, I can just try to borrow a GOOD wired 360 pad (which are rarer than a holographic Charizard). So if anyone knows Tad's number, shoot him a text for me.

Well, I'm in a shitty situation. My Cronus device is actually defective and will not work at all. I've tried everything. Plugging into a computer doesn't help, as it doesn't get recognized as a device at all. So, my options are to try to bum one off of someone or buy one and express ship it (which will cost me $100). I can't contact anyone about it because it's the weekend, and the company is shady as fuck. They have no forum. They never contact you by email when you use the "contact us" page. I'm pretty pissed about this.

Nah, I'm sure it'll be fine, because if the pad accidentally turns on, it will try to sync back to the converter and not a nearby system. I've got a wired controller too. Luckily, I'm hanging out with some friends Friday. Testing it on their PS3 will give me more time.

Wait, walk me through your process of getting it to connect, because I'm ultimately trying to use my wireless one too. Last night, I had the wireless adapter plugged into the converter, and the converter was of course in the PS3. I figured it should be as simple as pressing the sync button on the wireless adapter and syncing it with the pad, but the converter just kept flashing E and 6.

Chandler, I tested my Cronus converter last night and couldn't get it to work. Did a recent update kill it for the PS3? I ask because it was blinking an E and a 6, which an E means it's not recognized by the console. Test yours on the PS3 with a wired controller and tell me what happens.

Oh, I've noticed that. That's what we're complaining about? We still have combos from what I've seen. I thought it was a legitimate complaint like hitbox reduction or less magnetism pull. The j.D change still weirds me out. I'm gonna miss being able to combo a counterhit j.D midscreen, or setting up some weird tech traps off of normal hit. I also hate that corner 360's don't lead to 2B 2C stuff any more.

Astaroth really is the best-designed grappler imo. His damage output is very high, making the risk/reward game worth it, but it's not so high that he's broken. Like other grapplers, he can easily lose to rushdown, but his long range pokes makes up for that flaw. I could write a huge wall of text on why Astaroth (and the Soul Calibur series itself) is amazing... You guys better watch Final Round. I'm expecting to get at least top 8 in SC5. As for Tager, what is the Collider nerf everyone is mentioning? I haven't been keeping up with it too much.

Seriously, don't play on a non-comfortable pad. I HAD to do that last year, and I lost two matches against PR Rog in Marvel due to that. Dropped 2 happy birthday combos on him. This time, I'm using that Crono converter. I haven't opened/tested it yet, but I will on Tuesday at fight night next week.

I'll get VS after Final Round. My quest for SC5 domination is nearing completion.

I've been so deep into Soul Calibur these last two weeks. Astaroth grabs > Tager grabs > Hulk grabs > all other grabs. True story.

Chandler, this match perfectly portrayed every match we've ever had. (starts at 0:44) And the second match is awesome too.
