  1. I rage so much in this game. Losing to players in ranked that are obviously worse than me because my character is balls is frustrating. There's this one Liz that has no mixup game or footsies skill whatsoever, and I've lost to him multiple times. And screw Naoto too. Her EX dash-through gunshot is ridiculous. Unpunishable, better than most dps, and leads to Silence super? Sure, why not. /rant
  2. Kanji's B+D can actually lose to some characters' B+D due to timing, recovery, positioning, or a combination of those three. When playing a grappler in this game, this is how I approach most matchups.

  4. This is only on fatal counter though, right? Otherwise, a ton of meter and a burst is spent. The more I use Kanji, the less I like him. His normals are just so mediocre. Plus, 5D oki setups? Nah, that gets beaten by evasive action.
  5. @Air 360 discussion Yeah, I'd need to see the pull it has against magnetized opponents. If it has a decent pull, then "ROFL tech traps" galore.
  6. I'm not sure how aerial 360's are gonna work out. Instant jump airgrab is still faster, atomic collider is still a decent anti-air, and I'm assuming 2C will still be viable. What role then does an air 360 have? I'm far more interested in the other new moves that were shown in that vid. One stunned the opponent, and another one shot down the opponent from the air as a hard knockdown.
  7. Ugh, I hate people that do that. The Soul Calibur community always complain that "it's not SC2," like they had expected. SC5 is surprisingly balanced, with the only exception being Viola's back grab infinite. If you're playing SC4, Hilde and Algol are SSSS tier. lol
  8. This. Star, for my first interview, I studied common interview questions for a few days straight until I could thoroughly answer the questions without saying "Um" or tripping up. It really helped. I nailed the interview but still didn't get the job, due to stupid circumstances of the interviewer's boss being in a meeting and me never meeting him (he sits in on the interviews and has the final say-so in hiring the applicant). It was a stroke of bad luck.
  9. Man, I said this before, but I'll say it again. Waldstein is the most unique grappler design in a loooong time. They changed up the grappler game of "inch in slowly" to "mix up your opponent from half screen." The drawback of course is that some of the moves may whiff against up-close rushers. I hope this releases in America. Looks fun. I'm half asleep, and I read all of that thinking "Why did they change Blazblue so much?!" Rofl

  15. Oh, and electrocuting Mitsuru with 5D doesn't help Kanji at all. She can just flail normals or charge attacks when I try to close the gap, or anti-air me with 2B. Then I go flying right back into the corner.
  16. To be fair though, Labrys normals are whack. I lost to the turtliest Labrys today in ranked due to huge hitboxes when I tried closing the gap. LOL Live and learn.
  17. Ranked matches are fun tonight. Fought a pretty good Mitsuru, barely won, and he rq. Next, I fought a godlike Mitsuru. I lost the first round fast, won the second round with 1 second left, and he raped me third round. I need to check out Mitsuru's frame data. Her charge attacks feel neutral on block.
  18. You're basically saying Kanji is throwing you out of blockstun, which is impossible. What you're referencing is 5B on block into command throw. 5B on block is -1, so you can dp, jump, short hop, or attack after it if you expect a grab. The mindgame of 5B on block is that if you're holding upback, a 5A can pop you. That 5A leads to minimal damage but gives corner positioning. I can link some match vids of Japanese players both using this mindgame, as well as getting out of it.
  19. You can get pissy if you want, but I've explained to you both in several posts how Kanji is barely different from other grapplers. If he was leaps and bounds different, then everyone would be complaining about him and/or picking him up. He's a grappler with a meterless dp and fast command grab. So was T. Hawk (had an EX dp, 1-3 frame grabs).
  20. What do you mean by "you can't even block against him?" That's how all grapplers work... punishing blocks. I think you guys just aren't used to facing a grappler with a fast grab. His C grab is 3 frames, and it can grab a character that's landing while they're still holding up (test it in training). That was one problem Tager had. His grabs were on the slower side, but BB was an overall slower game anyway. Tager had a few great pokes that could hit confirm from even max range, and that's what Kanji lacks. His normals are ASS.
  21. On a serious note, you guys got bodied by a Kanji player last night, and now you're calling the character out? I'd understand if either of you used Akihiko, but Liz and Mitsuru?! Just level up until you start bodying me and other Kanji's for free.
  22. Guys, Kanji's ONLY difference between all other grapplers is that he has a dp (that also leaves a favorable status effect). The oki complaints make no sense, because you have a counter-option for every one of his options. Elizabeth's low health means she is high risk/high reward, and with that health, you can't gamble much against Kanji. Scrubs complain about grapplers.
  23. Just tested. You can grab punish it if it's done mid-range.
  24. 2C is crazy negative on block. Blocking beats 2C easily. No one uses 2C with Kanji oki anyway.
  25. Unless it's counterhit or 25 meter is used, 5C (the downward swipe) nets no combo. Besides, plenty of things beat 5C on your wakeup, so it's a terrible option. Anti-air grab on wakeup is weak too, unless 236C+D is used waaaay before you tech.
