I wanted to chime in on this too for a second. There are two VERY common parts in combos where the opponent usually bursts. These are: 2C FC>(any followup) Spark bolt>5C However, better players may burst in obscure parts of a combo to throw you off (they know Tager can bait bursts). Like Heroic said, don't drop two or three combos trying to bait the burst though...

I still don't understand 6A > 6B. If I know they're staying planting on the ground, I'd rather go for a 360. Nonetheless, very solid play Axis.

After watching that this morning, I too noticed that I was extremely passive, especially in that first round. I think I was trying to see how aggressive he was going to play, because we have played against each other quite a bit on XBL. I've seen him play passive and aggressive at different times. But yeah, I saw where I IB'ed, then did nothing... I knew for a fact that 2A was punishable on IB, and I did try it too many times. Got it to work once with a 720. Good advice though. I wanted to punch myself in the balls when I did that GF in the corner, both at the tournament and when re-watching it. WTF was I thinking? 2B is what I prefer too though. Nice catch. Good point. I've actually realized that I don't do this enough, but I haven't trained myself to use it really utilize it yet. Great advice. Will use it. Yeah, as you said, I was trying to end it quick. I knew I was trading position for damage, but when the damage gain is minimal, position is much better. I knew this, but nerves were getting me. You don't know how many people were crowded around me, as well as cheering me on. Honestly, I have VERY LITTLE Noel experience. Plus, I was just kind of dicking around in that match... borderline trolling. Yeah, yeah. Again, nervous wreck. I've been to tournaments before, but this is the first one where a large crowd gathered around just to watch me play. And, it was being recorded. Looking back, I can't even really see what I did right. I just see mountains of mistakes that made me lose... Thanks for all of the advice, Axis.

Ok guys, they uploaded vids from the middle Tennessee tournament. I do a lot of stupid stuff, like sledge followups on block, punishable elbow drops, and missed 360/720 opportunities. And remember, I forgot to set a RC button in the Losers Finals, so I do some retarded A-Sledge (wanted to RC when close to 2B) and stupid GFs towards the end. The first two are me getting knocked into loser's bracket. The middle two are me going through that bracket. I'll go ahead and do my shoutouts before everybody forgets about this. Seiki/Optic - Only one word can describe our matches: HYPE! Not only were they really close, but they were entertaining as well. After winning those two matches in a row in the loser's finals, I was expecting to take it. But, I got too confident or something, and mis-setting my RC button hurt too. Definitely GG's. Midnight - Curse you for winning yet another tournament without facing me. How do the brackets always fall that way? Oh well, we had lots of great casuals, and it was a great compliment to be the first Tager to consistently beat your Litchi. That Lambda though... I gotta learn that matchup. Boomcube - Nice talking to you again, and sorry we didn't get matches in. You were solid though from what I had seen. You better be at the next gathering. Phil - Same as Boomcube, but I didn't even know when you were eliminated. Then you vanished. Tad - You completely disappeared after lunch, but good talking to you. Chandler - It was good meeting you, considering I've played and seen you around on boards for more than a year now. Three astrals in one tournament though? That's a great way to earn some fans... and enemies. :razz: Preacher Man (haha) - Great costume and gimmick. Sorry we didn't get to play, but you did a lot better this time around. Keep up the practice and place top 3 next time. Milln - Again, nice job on the tournament. Everything ran smoothly. But warn me next time you're going to gather everyone around and record the match. I peed a little when I looked around and noticed that the ENTIRE room was watching me. To everyone else - Good games and nice meeting you all. See you all in January or February in the next tournament.

I would, but the Litchi/Tager matchup is horrendously one-sided. I also hate the idea of telling someone NOT to use a character in a mm. But, we can have plenty of casuals.

Not that he needed it, but Kyle had quite a bit of experience in fighting Tager. I'm pretty sure he played me, AXIS, and a few other Tagers on Live a lot. That couldn't have hurt... Also, isn't that purple grab > j.A x n trap the gayest thing ever?

The funny thing about Tennessee is that the majority of players are decent, but not very good. However, there are about 5 or 6 really good players. At least, that's what I've seen personally...
