  1. Hmmm...let's see here: About Dragon Install, not much has been said except that it relates to his Limiter. From what I've read so far regarding this, it works in Levels, but not quite the same as Kaoiken does. Let me explain: Dragon Install: Original GG Version-- Similar to Flame Distortion, except the Tension aspects...about the same as 50% Gain. Dragon Install: Normal-- Lasts about 8 Seconds, increases speed/powers up moves/changes move properties to somewhat lighter hits, yet maintains damage output/slightly increases Tension by an additional 50%. Ends in Faint, Puts you in high Re-Faint state/risks Negative Penalty (-20% Tension Gain for a certain period). (In a nutshell sacrifices a little Tension/Time Risk for Power/Speed). Dragon Install: Low Health-- Lasts about 11 Seconds, similar to above only lasts longer. Dragon Install: Flame Distortion-- Grants Full Tension/Tension Recharge/Level 3 Charge/Level 3 Recharge for 8 Seconds, Speed Increase, Properties of moves change accordingly based on Level. Dragon Install: Second-- Additional Input, Drains Health 2x faster than IK Mode without Tension, places Sol in a state of Permanent Negative Penalty (i.e. NO Tension Gain whatsoever), however Faint Limit is never reached so Speed/Move properties/Damage output never run out. (Nutshell: Sacrifice Health/Full Tension/Input/Startup for Infinite Use of Moves) Dragon Install: Instant Kill Requires Level 3 Charge/Full Tension or simply Full Tension but acts as a quick burst series of precise inputs, results in Broken Limiter/Extended Faint if anything is missed. Dragon Install: Third ?????? Dragon Install: Fourth-- This is only mentioned during the storyline of GG2 Overture, but it is the DI that causes Sol to achieve his Gear Form, he is apparently given flaming wings (which enable short bursts of flight), the ability to fire off long-range Gunflame shots like a cannon which apparently leave a Gunblaze-like trail of flame. It is mentioned that because Sol is able to achieve this form that the Limiter is beginning to erode (said by Raven to That Man). It's also said that once the Limiter finally ends up being broken beyond repair, that is when Sol will seek out That Man and put and end to everything (in his non-human form). So, to sum up, maintaining Sol's human form requires energy and strain, and if he uses too much of his "Gear" power, he risks breaking the Limiter which is used to maintain his human form. Normal Dragon Install grants him short bursts of speed/power while slowly building his Tension, resulting in a wave of nausea afterwards and rapid loss of energy...Permanent Dragon Install grants him the same in exchange for greatly damaging his body in exchange, as well as depleting his Tension completely to near-nothing, similar to a missed IK. Nothing about DI: Fourth is known as of yet....it does burn through his clothes however. Regarding the difference in combat style of Dragon Install, I believe it has more to do with Fireseal than anything else. Without Fireseal, Sol has to focus and charge up his powers in order to use them properly, Fireseal enables a constant stream of fire magic for him, and as a result he no longer needs to charge as much if at all. (This also explains his slightly lazier fighting style). Dragon Install no longer needs to act in short bursts, in other words, he doesn't need to fully charge up in order to use it, also, he does not need to "hit" the opponent to initiate it, it can be done from anywhere as long as he has the Fireseal with him. Although it still puts the 8-11 second strain on him afterwards, it isn't as bad if he misses...that is to say, DI: Instant Kill is a lot riskier than DI: Normal.
  2. The actual term he uses is "Danna" it's kindof a short honorific, usually used for highly respected tough guys (Yakuza/Biker term I guess). "Oi Danna, hisashiburi!" "Hey Chief, it's been a while!" @Hatred Edge: The actual term you referred to is Pauli's Exclusion Principle, dunno if that applies to the space-time continuum theories but...
  3. Ed Chang's Translation of "The Encounter" I'd say what Hatred Edge said is quite accurate, and lol at what sweetvids said, that may very well be possible. In a nutshell: Raven's "Existence" was "born" from Axl's Time Jumping. Conversely, it is because Raven exists that Axl's Time Jumps are triggered. I know that hardly makes sense Chicken or Egg sorta deal, but maybe it'll be explained later.
  4. Nothing as of yet, BUT...it's been reported that Raven's existence is due in part to his time shifting. Though they have a parallel existence, Raven states Axl as the cause. Raven is stated as being over 1,000 years old to boot. And considering how wide the time jumps can be, Axl may have already been all over the place by now.
  5. Dizzy being Sin's mother is still as of yet UNCONFIRMED. *breaks out the Unconfirmed Stamp, THUMP!* As for the mother/father relationships, it was only recently discovered Gears could reproduce through natural genetic information transfer (aka SEX). And even then, the familial relationships most gears have with eachother is based on backup/cloning, that is to say if the Justice is the originator and Dizzy the copy, Dizzy considers Justice to be her "surrogate" mother. To complicate this further, if the D-Series were ever created/completed, the relationships each Dizzy clone had would be more or less that of "sisters" referring to the alpha Dizzy as "mother". Gears would be best described as a production series, like generation 1 gears (gears designed as weapons), generation 2 gears (that is to say gears born in the wild), and then finally the hybrids (Sin). As far as clones go though, I'm not even sure a mother and father are even necessary. Just having the complete genome should be enough for a copy.
  6. Also, regarding Aria, the only things we know so far are these: 1-- Valentine is apparently a clone/copy/decendant of her. 2-- That she had a relationship somehow with Frederick (Sol) and THAT MAN. Regarding how that relates to Justice, Valentine borrowed a key component from Sin's genetic information to unlock "The Cube" found in the backyard which contains Justice's DNA sequence. Hence why she takes a form similar to Justice in appearance. In addition, how this relates to Sin is that Sin's mother is considered a "backup of Justice" or "clone copy".
  7. Doesn't matter if the source if fan-based or canon, if fans twist what is said, it becomes rumor.
  8. PWAB Report as Translated by Ed Chang: Keep in mind it says "reported to be" not "confirmed", so even then we don't know for sure. "sic" means 'written parenthetically to denote that a word, phrase, passage, etc., that may appear strange or incorrect has been written intentionally or has been quoted verbatim.'
  9. Honestly, I have no idea where that rumor started about Dizzy being half-human, half-gear. It's unconfirmed first and foremost, in addition to that the only "confirmed" half-human half-gear is Sin right off the bat. (We all know who the human father is). Sin is not stated as being quarter-gear. As for Solaria, she was formerly human, but converted to a gear, like Testament and Sol. Although to be more accurate regarding Sol, his human cells slowly converted to Gear Cells over a certain time period. Sol never directly states himself being a gear...only referring to being the "Prototype" and to having a "Gear Body" (this shortly before transforming into his Gear form in Overture...read Theria's notes/translations to confirm this). Also keep in mind regarding Sol and the Sekishidan: Sol was a bounty hunter before he was recruited by Kliff...Sol even saved Kliff from a Gear attack when he was just a child, in addition to working on OutRage, somehow several of the Jinki were entrusted to the Sekishidan. (For the record, Dragon Slayer is not a Jinki). Kliff is stated as having planned on giving Sol Fireseal from the start, regardless of whether he stole the weapon or not, in fact it's the sole reason Kliff recruited Sol from the start...possibly hinting at Kliff's encounter with Sol having remembered such things from childhood. Despite having deserted them though, Kliff still considers Sol to be an unofficial member of the Sekishidan. And for the last time: JUSTICE BEING ARIA is UNCONFIRMED! Stop spreading rumors!
  10. Well, AC+ Storymode infallibly has Dizzy mistaking the Justice-droid copy for her mother, which supports the idea originally suggested in the Drama CDs. So I'm pretty sure Justice is her mother now...not to mention the woman in GG2 Overture which everybody thinks is Dizzy has a connection genetically to Justice somehow, as does Sin himself. (Valentine aside). As for Sol...well, he IS the prototype Gear, so it wouldn't be far removed to call him her father, even on a genetic level.
  11. If you don't even know Daisuke's last name.... Anyway, here's a plot point nobody touches on that came out of Night of Knives: Axl and Slayer are (believe it or not) DRINKING BUDDIES! :D Also whenever Axl Time Jumps, not only is there a possibility of sucking people around him back in time WITH him (see Jam's AC+ story mode ending), but also he tends to do an equal-mass displacement thingie where something from another time/place gets swapped out for him...like a giant dinosaur or something of that nature.
  12. 'Fraid not. As Ed Chang stated from his translation notes from the GG Bible (which is as good as your gonna get unless somebody tries to translate the current scans that do exist...I have them if someone wants to look at them). He stated that two of them don't even have names. Also OutRage has not been mentioned at all since the first GG, only that Ky used up Fuuraiken's power to seal his beloved's body away till they could find a cure for the 'gear disease' as I call it that is mentioned in Overture. If you ask me OutRage is an untapped idea floating in the back of Daisuke's head, we still don't know anything about the remaining five Jinki, not unless they make an appearance in a sequel to GG2 Overture. Some theories: --Johnny having Senga? Possible. But he refers to his swordsmanship as Uncho Jihan Jikiden...Cloud Fencing Style...so it may be unrelated...he refers to Crow as a former student under his master, but apparently Crow got kicked out. --Increasing Fervor being "Juramento Nagel/Paracelsus"? Odds are extremely low regarding this, as we don't even know what Increasing Fervor's form really is. Jura is called Paracelsus by A.B.A. out of nostalgia for her "father". (Paracelsus was a historically famous alchemist). And considering the fact that Jura can obtain a homonculus body as stated in GGXXAC+, the odds are unlikely he's a Jinki. --White on a Lake? Again not sure. Maybe Izuna/Valentine/Sin have something to do with that one. --Remaining two??? Who knows...they aren't named so I dunno if we'll ever find out. We don't even know if they're weapons or just simply magic amplifiers. And knowing Daisuke he might use the pun "amplifiers" with I-no for all we know. --What about that Green-haired Kid from the Manga? No clue on that one...dunno if its considered Canon or not.
  13. Okay guys, keep in mind the Five elements in GG are these: Fire, Lightning, Water, Wind, and Ki Zessen (Zetsu = SUPRESSION/Sen = FAN) Fuuraiken (Fuu = SEAL/Rai = THUNDER/Ken = SWORD) Fuuenken (Fuu = SEAL/En = FIRE/Ken = SWORD) As Hatred Edge already said Paracelsus isn't a Jinki, and his real name is "Juramento Nagel". A battle axe from the previous war that thrives on blood pacts/alchemy. Also May's Anchor is named "Bohemian". As for the remaining "Jinki" (Divine Implements that are fragments of OutRage): Also it's unconfirmed whether the "Senga" belongs to Johnny or not, I doubt it, even if he says "Ensenga" Swallow's Piercing Tooth aka Tsubamegaeshi. Also Dizzy's "ring" has something to do with OutRage though we don't know what that is. Here's a picture of it, though to me it looks like a magical hedge clipper than anything else: One more thing I'm confirming here, but Chipp's "blade" has a name somewhere but I forget what it's called...anyone know?
  14. You might think this topic is strange, and probably with good reason. But I'm a man of nostalgia and mystique. Whether it's fighting against the computer in Maniac mode, or asking a friend who knows how to play her to pick this version of the woman I've grown to love fighting. (Yes, I think of her as a woman, maybe that's perverted but...I digress.) Maybe it's personal guilt or a guilty confession of a dirty secret. It all started with the idea that in the original GG, Justice could literally spam Imperial Ray into Gamma Ray instantly and back to back at the drop of a hat usually causing Faint immediately. Mostly because Imperial Ray was not an Overdrive, but a Special Attack, like Volcanic Viper...it made her broken, but at the same time, made her addictively challenging as a Boss. Well, despite the fact Imperial Ray got changed to an Overdrive to balance her somewhat, I kinda missed the "danger" of that attack. So I started fighting against Black Justice, who can do that and oh so much more. And then, Accent Core Plus came along. You have no idea how long I waited to try her....I mean....try "fighting" her. Things she can do to you <3: --No matter what you happen to be doing, she can Forcebreak Saperia Trance you out of it (has like a 3 frame warning startup...but my reflexes are slow as hell against it). --Her pokes are sudden and can come from behind her if you don't jump properly. --N.B. Bomb forcing you to move either under or above it...and trick you into dashing into OH FUCK IMPERIAL RAY. --Position you in a gap between herself and N.B...where if you backdash to avoid her attacks, you end up eating N.B. anyway and then she can just followup with whatever. --Since Michael Sword now has Floor Slide properties...she can combo into that at any time, knocking you across the screen and then...OH FUCK GAMMA RAY...NO TIME NO TIME!! (You either mad dash/projectile it and hope its fast enough...or FD Block. --Imperial Ray at ANY TIME. (Usually sweep pokes into this, or tricks you into dashing over her N.B.) --Michael Blade at ANY TIME. (High Jumps can get out of this if you're lucky, Backdash if you're real lucky, I try to FD/Slashback on reaction.) --Gamma Ray at ANY TIME. (Although this is asking for a free combo from you, she can hit you with the startup "Spark" if you're too eager and then OH FUCK.) I'm curious to know this but...when dealing with things like Gamma Ray...if you're forced to block it, what's the calculation like for Faultless Defense? If you FD it but then start running out of Tension, does guarding it build Tension slightly in single point digits? What I mean by this, is this: Is it absolutely FUTILE to Faultless Defend an attack like Gamma Ray if you don't have the Tension? I noticed Guarding stuff like that can raise Tension a lot too. Now, you guys are probably thinking "Why is he fighting Black Justice?...she's not so hard in Survival Mode." That may be so, but in that case it's a 1 Round Duel and over real quick. But when it comes down to a knock-down drag out fight, where you're fighting her for 2 or 3 rounds or more and she has Infinite Tension, it gets irksome. It gets even worse when you have a friend playing as her. I can't explain it better than that. Even with my friends who like to spam and juggle with Michael Blade a lot, there's usually some form of interesting challenge to it. So I'm wondering what you think of Black Justice? The advantages/disadvantages etc. If you ask me this is as close to the original GG Boss as we're going to get, if not more so. That and for some reason, Black Justice looks sexy to me. :8/:
  15. "WOW! THEY CAME OUT WITH A SNEAKY SURPRISE ATTACK AT THE START OF THE ROUND!" You've all probably heard the announcer from Capcom VS SNK 2 say that once or twice. But in hi-level fights what can you expect from doing stuff like that in Guilty Gear? Fighting Johnny I sometimes get caught by a Surprise TK Ensenga. And have Sol start off with a Volcanic Viper sometimes. And sometimes starting a match with just the right surprise attack can make or break a player I believe. So I wonder if there's a certain strategy to surprise attacks or is it mostly psyche-outs and Okizeme? Do certain matchups dictate what you try to do at the beginning? How do you guys surprise your opponents?
  16. Okay so, I've been thinking about either how to fight this NEW Justice, or how to fight AS her... Not sure how she's able to handle the likes of Slayer/Testament/Eddie but I am curious, as it's ABOUT FREAKIN' TIME somebody showed those three what Top Tier is all about! Likewise, since Justice isn't my main, I'm curious how people would handle her in a match. Sure, there won't be any tournies or the like, but it's still nice to know these things.

Not sure about this but I think j.D's "bounce height" is relative to how high you are when you start it.
  18. I was told Zappa is the most annoying character in the game. I figure, if I'm annoying with him...it's almost as good as any Oki I have. Any ways to abuse his voice mid-fight like Slayer's FD Cancel Laugh?

  20. Well, I asked this question in the General Questions Thread and the answer was "Go make something by yourself", so, I did. Hard work doing the first one though. Anyways, you read it from the left-most column to the right and look at the columns to match what attacks cancel into that one. Key: Blue "YES" = This attack cancels into the corresponding attack's "row". Red "NO" = This attack won't cancel/doesn't apply to this attack situation. Grey "YES" = This attack cancels, but the delay is huge/doesn't combo very well/black beat. Magenta "YES" = This attack works, but only in certain situations, usually a jump-in combo in the corner. Grey "NO" = This attack normally doesn't work, but in certain situations it "might" such as the period of frames after a Homing Jump from a dust just before the "space screen" appears where you have unlimited jump cancels and airdashes. Also keep in mind I know several Supers and Overdrives have situational combos you can follow up with after they hit, but that's too complex for this listing, so I ignored it for the time being. Also ignoring Roman Cancel and Force Roman Cancel potential for now. Anyway, this is my first, and correct me if I'm wrong in anything. I may do more later if I have the energy.
  21. It's been tradition, I suppose, that nearly all the GGX and XX games contain at the very least a Survival Mode that shows off all the pretty color palettes and uniquely difficult A.I. that towers against you...not to mention how fast the game's opponents speed up and pretty much use cheap tactics to beat the snot out of you (damn you Black EX May and your stupid whales!!) 22. http://www.defconsoft.co.uk/hardware/controllers/interact-program-pad/ I've had this sitting in storage for a while since it's mostly for PSX games among other things, but then I remembered you could program inputs with it. And then I remembered how hard a time I was having doing inputs in AC. *evil grin* This thing can literally "quantify" how many spaces between inputs it takes to activate FRCs, buffer inputs, such as most TKs, and it can even Macro Negative Edge. The way it works is, you have two main "macro" buttons to set the commands to, and then the inputs are recorded either as a "stream" of inputs (either simultaneous firining input or sequential) or as "taps" such as for Airdashes. Held down inputs are simply pressed into the pad a certain number of times for the amount of time you want to hold down the direction. To do something like Stinger Aim: Macro: :b:x14 (that is press it 14 times) then press + or Keep in mind pressing the input 14 times doesn't mean 14 seconds or even 14 miliseconds...the charge input just takes about 14 input spaces according to the program pad itself. To Negative Edge Stinger Aim: Macro: +:s:/:h:x14, (don't press :s:/:h: during this input). Basically you press :s:/:h: along with the number of times you pressed as thats how long you hold it for (in fact since it is Negative Edge you don't even have to hold the Attack buttons as long as you would the directionals, so half of that or less would work too). It looks weird at first because Venom pokes his input (by pressing it down, you are firing it off). Now for something more complicated as a Macro, Chemical Love FRC! Basically once you set the activating Macro, you press each direction in the input separately in sequence, not like rolling of the thumb or stick, but as separate inputs, one at a time. To emphasize this, I'll put dashes in between the inputs. Macro: -----+ Or if you want to be sloppy about it: Macro: ------ (notice the difference? is input immediately after instead of simultaneous, yet in some cases this still registers). As for the FRC, there's a large gap between the inputs, and in order to fill the gap, the macro needs to know the space of time needed before the next input is fired. To do this, the Start Button is used with a <> divider to register separate inputs, or input gaps. For example, to input a Macro'ed Dash: <> This registers a gap in the inputs so that the macro releases instead of simply holding down the input like this: -:f: The end result is that you simply have someone holding for two input intervals. Now...onto the FRC itself: Macro: -----+<><><><>FRC To make things easier I mapped the P+K+S to the R2 button so in essence it's a Macro within a Macro. Notice that there are four gaps between the time the input itself is registered and the actual FRC input. I've been experimenting a little to see how complex the inputs can be made...here I added the 6FRC6 method of I-no's CLH Dash: Macro: -----+<><><><>+FRC<> So far I've only been able to get the "dash" to happen when I-no is in the air. I'm trying other sequences, but it would be neat if I could find the exact input timing for the dash. Also, I-no's low-flying Airdash: Macro: <>:f:x6 ( is held down for 6 intervals to let her fly up a ways), then <> (the actual airdash). And finally...a Macro for Dragon Install: Sakkai (since the interval between DI activation and the first hit in the combo is actually HUGE, we'll be using two separate Macros, one for DI, and one for the combo itself): Macro 1: -----+ (<>x50? the pad's macro memory doesn't go that high!) Macro 2: (press after the first punch of the combo): <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> <><><><><><><>-----+ A shorter version of the above: -<>x3--<>x6--<>x6--<>x6--<>x6--<>x6--<>x1------+ Anyway, I hope you liked my little scientific experiment of sorts...there IS a scientific way to measure inputs. I'm sure there's a more precise description of the inputs in the game's programming itself, but hey...it's interesting to be able to analyze this stuff from a gamer's perspective. I'm sure anyone who's ever built a joystick finds this interesting.

  25. I'm getting really frustrated with doing A.B.A.'s rekka-inputs, I know it's negative-edged so the input happens after you release, but whenever I do it, whenever I have a spare Bloodpack and 50% Tension I end up accidentally doing her Goku Moroha input. I know the input is: 1) (Masshou) 2) (Fukumetsu) 3) (Dangoku) But I keep buffering this instead: x2 (Henshitsu OD) It gets to the point I do it in the middle of a combo and immediately have to waste a Bloodpack to save myself. While the OD may stagger someone nearby, it sucks to do it by accident and I end up wasting Tension, Bloodpack, and Health. Argh. If you guys can offer advice or know what to do when this happens, please let me know. I play a little ABA on pad, so hence you can see the origin of my problem. It's even worse when I try to do Dangoku FRC combos and end up doing this instead.
