  1. I did a ton of analyzing of Domi, and I think the answer is (amongst others) movement and spacing. Moving around right can get you through your opponent's blind spots and spacing keeps you safe, people also expect cross ups less if you're further away, I noticed a lot of spaced 5c, as well as interesting bits like duck sweep, jump assault dive (during pressure), it's like once he got in, he kept his pressure short and sweet, really did he keep in their face for too long trying to figure out how to open them up, he seemed to have a fresh plan in place to do that before he ever got close to them. It was all pretty interesting.
  2. I'm sure there are some characters who's OD potential hasn't been realized yet, imo Ragna, Arakune, Nu, and maybe Azrael.
  3. 5a > 6b works in the corner combo, the only reason I can imagine the players not doing it is because with N starters you can get a little bit of damage by doing [N starter] > 2c wallstick > 5d wallstick > 236b > 6b > 6c > 5c > 5a > 6b > j.6d > 6d The smp applies to the moves separately, if your starter is an S starter, then you should have no reason to not 5a > 6b. Thanks for the info, Dave. It was more valuable than you think!
  4. Hey can I get a more mobile friendly link to this, please?
  5. So Dave, we all know you gave CP Arakune a whirl. Any interesting/useful information to share?
  6. They're never gonna get as good as Ao Iconoclast insert favorite BB console theme even though you're wrong if it's not Ao Iconoclast, so you might as well get with the program.
  7. Me: wtf is this song? Me: some new vs theme? Me:.... Me:............. Me: is that Black Onslaught!? Me: oh shit! I liked it. As well as what little I've heard of the console opening astral finish theme.
  8. Nothing personal about Faylan though, it's just the track and the way they chose to use it. I guess this'll be the third (or fourth?) game in a row in which one of the first things I do is disable the Astral music Little did he know that he just heard a portion of the console theme.
  9. Understand that Mori is a producer, I don't think he's in charge of publishing. Someone definitely made that decision, it's business, so it's (likely) not a groundless decision.
  10. This is actually true without meter, still though, 7k [PRACTICAL] damage is a lot, considering the average is 11k. Either way, depending on the starter and position, it's more rewarding to go for the unblockable reset. Two 4k combos > one 7k combo. Edit: basically the moral of the story is although every other character can pull off ridiculous high damage combos, Arakune's are, unlike the others, both practical and standard.
  11. A ha ha haaa. What are we laughing about?
  12. One of you attack Domi and get the technology out of him.
  13. Airk, do you have any experience in business?
  14. Niggas get butthurt aaaaaaaaa@@@@@@@@@AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAアアアアアアアアアアアアあああああああああああああ
  15. You understand that in this context, "games"is very broad. The only issue I hear of Japanese games not doing so well is only in the western countries, I.e. America and Europe, since western developers have obtained a monopoly on the demographic. Games are doing great in Japan, and even if it wasn't, BlazBlue is an extremely popular fg franchise in Japan. The fact that LE BBCP preorders sold out almost instantaneously after its announcement is a great testament to that. The ratio between "losing money" with a popular franchise meeting what is considered its best iteration released on a leading console versus releasing it on a console that just doesn't sell enough is wide, very wide. Personally I still think that the reasons are more legal or convenient than it is financial. That would explain even the western markets not getting an xbox version.
  16. We have confidence and make jokes.
  17. Neat. Just a warning, everybody hates Michigan. Also I won't be able to see shin until at least tomorrow. One of the fine nuances of working til close. Sometimes I feel like a convenience hook.
  18. 2b > j.b > 5b > j.b > 5aa > 2ab > killrush > cork If you score a level 3 FC cork without using meter then; 2b > j.b > 5aaaa => 4d => 6b If course if the situation calls for it, you can replace weave => cork with dp (1) => cyclone.
  19. SB duck is like 7 frames, grabbing him is theoretically possible granted you do it early enough, but I wouldn't bet on it, most people just yomi it and block the other direction, very few people can react to it. You can dp a follow up, but Akihiko can choose to not follow up and recover in time to block a dp should he see one coming, depending on the block string, mashing out with a normal can turn the blockstring into a frame trap that can cost you 3-6k. My best advice is to; 1. Pay attention to attack patterns to properly guess when an SB duck may happen. 2. Adjust your footsies and neutral so you're not put into a position where you can get crossed up.
  20. Just a friendly moderator reminder, try not to derail too severely from the topic.
  21. The way Mori put it, Kagura sounds far more interesting now.
  22. Better yet, I'll just list the "must learn" combos, like the bnb, AoA combo, Fatal combo, etc. Then I'll list specific circumstance moves, like x on CH, cross-up stiff, SP moves and the like. Originally, I took all those combos from the jp wiki, but since Akihiko is now optimized, we really dont need all those combos, I'll clean it up in the next couple days.
  23. It could work, but maybe for those who understand good combo theory, things like SMP and the starter can get in the way and effectively omit some combo routes. I think the combos serve themselves nicely as a way to not only practice the combos, but understand Akihiko's combo theory. After a while, they wouldn't need the combo thread, they would just need to know a few factors. 1. Did the starter require meter? 2. What's the proration? 3. Was it a fatal counter? Edit: Come to think of it, I could contract some of the details, like any combo that involves the usual (236a => 4a => 6b) can be shortened as "kill rush" or a different term to mean as such, I could do the same for "5b loop", "2b loop" "midscreen ender" (5aaa => a => [4c => 6b/bd => cyclone]), "corner ender", etc. I'll have to mention character specifics though.
  24. At this point, Terumi is the kind of character that needs momentum, his ability to keep said momentum, as well as to gain it from a disadvantage will make our break him. That said, Terumi mirrors will likely be a 7-3 in the favor of who gets that first hit. Like Arakune mirrors. Perfect.
