Oh, and check this out. This makes me super happy. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Continuum+Shift+Extend&x=0&y=0 Every version of Extend for every system is listed as "Temporarily out of stock. Order now and we'll deliver when available." This is Amazon we're talking about- don't they always, like, order a million of everything? -

What console did you get it for, Volpe? I can be on PS3 after babysitting tonight, but not 360- I'm still waiting on my Amazon order to get here. With two day shipping, it's looking like it'll get here on Friday. WTF? -

Ah, that makes more sense. Clarification FTW. Speaking of which, I probably sounded a lot harsher than I was trying to be. Mah bad. What makes Blazblue different than most popular fighting games on the market (in terms of the amount of people that play it) is that it hasn't had any sort of "revival" to generate hype. There was 9 years between Third Strike and IV, 11 years between MvC2 and MvC3, 6 years between KoF XI and KoF XIII (nobody liked XII right? lololol), and 4 years between SCIV and SCV. The way I see it, part of what made those games as popular as they are now is that the long-term players meshed with the newbies to make a new, larger community. Revivals give an excuse for that kind of thing. That said, I don't think games NEED that kind of thing to continue thriving and growing. Extend is a prime example, since it appeals to long time fans with balance changes, an additional character, new modes, etc.; and for those just entering the franchise, it offers the Story Mode in its entirety (CT to Extend), a Tutorial/Challenge Mode, and a low price tag. Sure, Blazblue's community hasn't exploded in size or anything, but I feel like Extend and BB3 are going to increase the size of the community in general quite a bit. And if you're still playing, you'll be around not only to experience that kind of growth, but to participate in it as well. Also. On the topic of this whole revivals making games popular thing, I can't wait for that to happen with Guilty Gear. -

I disagree with this completely. If you enjoy a game, you should play it regardless of the size of the competition. Just think- if everyone simply played the games they like instead of the ones they feel everyone else is playing, there would be a larger and happier community for the former. Saying that you only want to put time into games that other people play makes you part of the problem. -

I always feel like I use too many commas. XD But yeah, I agree. I'm feeling much better now, just in time for Test 1 week. Blah. I'll try to get some KoF practice in before this Friday, though. If you'll be free then, we can meet and KoF/SCV/Extend it up. Sorry to leave you hanging last week. -

I understand your point, but that's not what I was getting at. Milln's situation may be different, but for myself, I find it hard to enjoy competing in games I have little experience with- and right now, that's pretty much every fighting game that isn't Blazblue. I still have fun playing other fighting games casually at the moment... I just feel like I would have more fun if I could compete better in them. -

I have the same problem. Blazblue sparked my interest in the fighting game genre, and I want to be able to practice and get decent at everything else simultaneously, but it's simply not realistic. If I were you, I would just focus on one fighter at a time. Think about which game you'd have the most fun learning/playing and make that your first priority. Get to a point where you feel you've reasonably improved/hit the next level/become consistent/whatever, and then decide if you want to try and get good at something else too. Rinse, repeat. But that's just my advice. You can go about it however you like. I don't know how I feel about this. -

Oops, thanks for bringing that to my attention. I'm turrible. Also, Yuri Lowenthal's a pretty well-known VA. He's the voice of Sasuke from Naruto, Simon from Gurren Lagann, Luke from Tales of the Abyss, etc. If I close my eyes while he's being played, I can imagine him doing any number of things, including piercing the heavens with his Justice Drill. *Suddenly has the urge to learn Patroklos* Oh, and Volpe, I found this KoF tier list by The Answer, B.A.L.A., and Romance. I have newfound respect for your perseverance. http://www.mmcafe.com/tiermaker/kof13/index.html#ya0-trjm2yn82xb74ni16j8l6ld64ne787pg5nlp8d506ole4mjv6jjs8d6p6mhw4ogb4rex32lr6ilg2xcb6jg86kah8c994o5pjycb8anb4ppj7fjm4pnl6ghy8cad6ke76jd32y9c2z7c4qb62y-bk6 -

Lol, nice Astaroth. Will there be videos surfacing for either of those? I'm particularly interested in seeing some top-tier SCV play from you. As for the rules, thanks for clarifying. I'm a little surprised to hear that's the case. A couple people I've talked to said they thought Algol would be banned because he "was in SCIV," and except for an exploit that completely covers up CaC's with accessories (not sure on the details of that), I don't know how they'd be that different than actual characters. Though thinking about it now, it might slow down tournaments if you have to worry about people porting over their custom characters via flash drives or whatever (assuming that's even possible). -

Hey Milln, what are your rules for Soul Calibur V gonna be? I'm mainly wondering if Algol/CAC are going to be allowed. -

Really? I usually save Finals for last so they appear at the top of the list. I can't see most people digging through matches, even to find Finals. If you think that's what would be best, I can go ahead and do it though. -

The answer to taking the test earlier is no. According to my professor, she won't let me take the test earlier for the same reason she won't let anyone take it later- because I could pass the questions/answers off to someone else. I put up a convincing argument, too. Well fuck. Thanks for the help though, guys. I'll see you guys at Final Round next year. :] -

So... Um... Something I just realized- because the mic was turned off for the majority of KoF when nobody was commentating, I don't have much to identify players by. The only reason I knew who the players were in Marvel was because the mic stayed on the entire time, so Milln and his megaphone announcements made that a ton easier. Until I can get some confirmation on matches I'm unsure about, I'm going to reference the player(s) as ??? in the video titles. It feels weird, but it's the best I can do. -

I just had to open my big fucking mouth. It would figure the DAY AFTER I make this statement, I'd get a revised syllabus. Naturally, one of the two tests in my World Literature class was moved to March 2nd. I am. Fucking. Pissed. I'll talk with my professor about it, but I doubt I'll be able to produce any results. The syllabus states "Only in cases in which a doctor's note is provided for having missed a test, the existing test grade will count double. No other circumstance will qualify for the aforementioned arrangement. So, I basically have the option of going to Final Round, or passing this class. Words can't describe how disappointed I am. -

Astaroth's officially advanced to broken tier. And while I still need to pay for admission, I'll definitely be going. Will anyone be joining Papstr and I on the Megabus?
