  1. Also the first hit reverse prorates.
  2. Cat chair is a free 3C counterhit for Hakumen. 3C counterhit = Combo.
  3. I thought it doesn't have upper body invincibility, just a specific anti-head counter property? In otherwords, a properly timed 6A will beat any Jump-in Attack clean?
  4. True, but damage is damage. And if for some reason Nyu Gives you an opening where you can get a 5C-> into dustloop relatively early in the game (Which can happen), I don't see why you wouldn't do it. You're saying "Get 3 stars ASAP." The origin of my argument was: "You can do good damage with 2 stars." not that "You should play hakumen to do good damage with 2 stars." You contended that you can only do garbage damage with 2 stars, and that's untrue. Just saying.
  5. I'm aware, but it seems to be pretty good damage to me, regardless. And yes, True, Mugen overall is impractical... I was just saying I can see certain plausible situations that can actually happen in a real match where mugen would be a legit option.
  6. Because the example I gave was in regards to the top three. Against Nu and Arakune... You *have* to play defensively and look for openings... that's how you beat them (and with a shitload of luck too.) I'm sure this video is on this thread on the first page, but the perfect example I'm talking about: Go look for 0's video of him against that Nu. it's on youtube. He gets in on her at 30seconds into the video. Deals 40% damage with 2 magatama. yes, he had more than 2 stars, but he didn't use them to get in.
  7. The same way you'd get them to land if you have 8? You don't need stars to dash in against a Nyu when you find an opening in her D-spam, or getting in on arakune who leaves an opening in his game after making a mistake. EDIT: maybe sometimes you do, but it depends on the situation really.
  8. 3C CH nets good damage. 6A CH leads to good damage.
  9. Hakumen can actually do some damage with 2 stars, not great, but good. And I didn't necessarily mean "early in the round" so much as "early in life." Say that arakune keeps you out for the first 20 seconds of the round, and you finally get in (You're at say... idk, 50% life at this point with like 6 stars). Then Arakune bursts at 85%. So far I think this is a plausible situation, thus far. Then say he keeps you out some more and you're at 15% life now (and 8 stars) with 40 seconds left, and you haven't gotten an opportunity on him yet so he's still at 85%. Then he tries for risky mix-up and you predict and get a 6B CH into Mugen. Then you can infinite him to death for a win. Sure that's a lot of set-up. and I'm not saying play like this against arakune. I'm just saying that I feel this is a situation where Mugen could be practical, and I also think it's a 100% plausible one, especially against someone like arakune (or Nyu for that matter).
  10. isn't there a video floating around of a legit setup off 6D? he used it on a bang player. I can see it coming in handy against arakune or Nyu. Since the good ones tend to burst early. So, say you get in early on arakune because he makes a mistake or w/e so he bursts at 90% life (Something Good Arakunes *will* do at times.) Then you end up having to sit back but you get a 6B (or a 6D) CH. You can pretty much mugen and end the round there. So I think that is something that could conceivably happen in a match against Nyu or Arakune.
  11. But there *are* things that should be patched. Or rather, fixed. And how many revisions did Guilty Gear have? Each Revision made some balancing tweaks. I come from computer gaming, not arcade gaming since I was a kid. Ever since the internet, patching has become a way of life with every competitive computer game. I find it kind of unusual that fighting games in this day and age aren't being revisioned with balance patches (and would certainly benefit from them.) Over the past 10 years, there have been lots of balance changes to Starcraft which is the most prominant and popular (and balanced) e-sport/competitive game out there. I feel fighting games deserve that kind of attention too.
