A few tips that might help you out with that: You can't buffer the dash during the hit stop of 236B, so you'll want to make sure that's finished before you start your input. It may or may not be easier if you think of the dash and the 5B as two different inputs, instead of thinking of it as a dashing 5B.

You missed some great stuff :< I didn't get to play, but I had the best time ever listening to the alcohol-assisted convo last night. Plus I got a lot out of watching Severin and James play and asking them questions, so it was pretty productive. I ended up not leaving till 4:45-ish, so the drive back was sort of painful though. It got into a pretty heavy fist-fight between me and sleep about halfway through.

Just to make sure you know, we aren't going to be doing our regular meetup this week because Wallice, shtkn, and I are going up to Sanoshi's thing. Don't want you to show up and not be able to find anyone >_< Eh...I guess if you really want me to try, lend me one and I'll see what I can do by next week...I wouldn't be too hopeful though, since I have work and all. In the end, you two would probably still be better off finding a random who actually mains stick =/ And about our whole potentially switching days thing: Since I tend to work late and have to get up early, the only weekday that could work for me would be Thursday nights, and that would only be for every other week. Yes, regular 236D works against a portion of the cast. I don't have the game myself yet so I haven't been able to practice it at home, but looking over the video, this is what they say: Cavalier portion: The trick to getting cavalier to land correctly is to "delay it by one beat", although depending on the starter and the character just doing everything as fast as possible may work as well. I assume that this means something like DD*pause*236C with all 4 parts coming out at a steady rhythmn at the same speed you would usually do DD is what you want. If you do it too slow/fast, or you hit with the edge cavalier or blade->rc instead, it won't work. Height is of great importance it seems. Sickle portion: For sliding sickle to work, you need to connect with cavalier at least a certain distance away from the wall. The markings that he uses for reference are the fat line on the ground for the right wall and the triangular shape on the ground for the left wall (demonstrated at around 2:40~ish). An example of him failing because cavalier connected past the line is shown shortly after. Apparently it works best if you time your sickle input so that sickle comes out right after they hit the wall. Edit: Also, just incase it's not clear, 2366D is the input recommended for dashing 236D, which is why you see it written that way. It's really not that hard once you get used to it. It's like your regular 236D input, but if you cram in an extra 6 before you hit D the dashing version will come out instead.
