^No prob. I was stumped on that one yesterday and for the life of me couldn't figure it out until I watched the demo again. Its lame how the challenge mode doesn't list out all the necessary steps out. :/

^You need to duck and weave to build up the Cyclone Gauge before the throw so the Boomerang Hook A causes crumple. So 214D>6D>Throw works. So 214D>6D>Throw>4A>4C>4B(charged)>4C>4AB>4D>2B>236236B

The D version just has him back up a little bit, which should be useful for frame traps. No full body invincibility. SB(Ex) is the one with full body invincibility.

[CS2] Noel Vermillion Beginner Questions Thread
confusedxphreak replied to LunaKage's topic in Archive
Well, I haven't really invested much time in playing the game on my 3DS because I can never find people to play with, but I guess I have gotten better at performing the desired moves as time passed. I guess you just get used to how to glide your fingers over the d-pad. I'm not sure how much you know about the Haida, so I'm just going to start with basics. So, the Haida loop is basically just a repetition of 22B>(6)6C before ending the combo with drive. So an example Haida on Tager would be 3C>2BBBB~C>66C>22B>6C>22B>66C>drive combo. This is perhaps the simplest you can get in terms of starting to learn the timing of the loop. If you can get this simple combo, just keep adding in repetitions of the 22B>(6)6C. BTW, as a side note, 66C's are used instead of a regular 6C sometimes so you can adjust spacing to continue the loop since the loop is spacing specific. Because this is Tager and he has such a huge hitbox, you can get away with regular 6C's for perhaps two reps before doing a 66C. But just try that basic combo first and post here how it goes. Also, if you haven't already, watch that video on that thread about the Haida loop so you can visualize the timing and see how its supposed to look like. Oh, and on another note, since you might not be accustomed to notation, 66C is just a dash into 6C, so 66>6C = 66C. -

Well, I own the 3DS version of CS2 too, and let me tell you that using that 3DS d-pad is ARSE, so I understand why its difficult doing the Haida. But anyway, the Haida is character specific, so what exact combo have you been trying, and on which character? Here's an archived page from Hexanoid that might be helpful if you haven't looked at it already:http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?11719-Noel-Vermillion-CS2-Haida-Guide If you still need with some clarification or something specific (i.e timing of dash cancel, 6C, etc.), I'm sure anyone will be willing to help. -

[CSE] Noel Vermillion C-C-C-COMBO COMPILATION!!!
confusedxphreak replied to LunaKage's topic in Archive
Are there any stable corner throw combos for Noel? :3 I tried one from an earlier post in this thread, but I'm wondering if there is an even better one now that will work on most of the cast, if not all. -

Thanks for the replies. I'm definitely inputting the 66C too slowly from what I can tell, but its getting slightly better. I guess I'll just go practice that 66C some more in training mode until I can get it by rhythm. -

I have a two questions. First of all, are the Noels in videos nowadays throwing in a 66C after the dash cancel following the 2BBBBBBC? If so, are there any tricks in the timing? I've tried it a few times before in training mode, but the timing escapes me most of the time. x.x I want to sneak that extra B into that Silencer combo. -

Ah. Good points. I was just thinking that its not the best move to use randomly to try to catch jump-ins if someone is not used to the range and hitbox of 6A. If it whiffs completely due to wrong timing, its easy to get punished for it. But I'm glad that it works on 2D consistently now because 2D's were always the death of me in Noel mirrors. -_- -

I think you'll figure out the best situations to use her normals as you play more and more people and accumulate experience. The only normals I feel like you shouldn't throw out randomly are her 6A, 6B, and 3C. These moves are pretty situational, and if you use them incorrectly, you will get punished for it. -
^In that video against Litchi, the Noel was able to follow up a corner 5B 5C jc Bullet Rain with a 2A into a combo. Was that possible in CS1 as well? o.o
-
^? The Noel was able to follow up the 2B whiff with a 66C closer to the corner at about 5:09. I think its just very spacing and situational specific. I think the Noel in that video failed the first time because Platinum was CH while still on the ground and didn't react fast enough to pick up the combo with 5B.
-
Even better, because in this video, this Noel shows its possible to connect it with just 66C after the 2B whiff. Its either the hitstun is that much greater on CH 6A, 6C is indeed faster...or both. Also, on an interesting tidbit that I got from earlier in that video, now I know for future reference to follow up Thor with an Optic Barrel for that extra bit of damage. lol
-
R-1 and a new loop being used in combat? Good day indeed. Also, I never noticed how good the second hit wall bounce of 6C is. Not only does the second hit knock the opponent from far midscreen into the corner, it can still be followed up.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLaVQ0tXdgc#t=2m41s From what it seems here, Assault Through causes ground slide on CH on an aerial opponent.

[CS1] Noel Beginner Questions: You Gotta Start Somewhere
confusedxphreak replied to LunaKage's topic in Archive
That challenge was one of the most painful ones for me too, just because positioning and timing on that combo is stricter than a lot of Noel's more practical combos that you'll often use in combat. Since you keep messing up at the j.B following the SJC, I believe it would help if you input the B command at the same time as you input the 8/9 (up/diagonal forward up) motion for the SJC. Don't wait to confirm the super jump before you input the command for j.B, so in simplest terms, 28B, not 28>j.B. Did that make sense? lol Since you're new to BB, I think you'll just need more practice with getting used to the timing and buffering system. When I was new to the game, I tended to mash to buffer inputs, which resulted in getting the wrong move out frequently. Once you get used to the timing, the 5C after the 6A will be easier to pull off; although don't get used to this because most of Noel's practical combos from her 6A actually go into 6C (gun twirl). -
Against Makoto, these are the things I keep in mind: 1. Be patient with blocking. Some of Makoto's blockstrings are ridiculous, so I just do my best to remain patient and block until I see an opening. A lot of Makoto's normals, especially at close range, beats Noel's, so trying to poke out fails a lot. WATCH FOR CROSS-UPS. I find Noel's anti-airs pretty unreliable in terms of risk and payout for Makoto, so instead of trying to counter her j.2C, I usually just react to block it. 2. Anticipate Makoto's 2A or 3C approaches. 2D is especially useful for Makotos who like to hit low. 3. I keep track of Makoto's pressure strings so I can can 4D FC when there are holes. 4. Noel's CA is always an option when being pressured.

[CS1] Noel Beginner Questions: You Gotta Start Somewhere

I still use the d-pad more often than an arcade stick as of now because I still haven't figured out the most comfortable grip for stick; however, I can say that using an arcade stick is a lot more fluid in terms of movement and combo execution, just in general. Analog stick sucks. It's so awkward and difficult to control any of the motions other than the 4 general directions. And this is for the PS3 controller. Xbox controller is just garbage in terms of controlling movement. -
^It's funny how useless j.4D is to me personally, but how annoying it is to counter it when other Noels use it against me. Its probably because I don't know the move's projectory well at all. :/ What's the best way to punish a j.4D? Punish before landing, on landing before its active frames, or after blocking the j.4D (and probable 214D)? But yeah, I agree with the consensus that mirror matches are a PAIN with Noel. It's funny how easily other characters can punish drive moves, but Noel herself cannot deal with it safely. Often I run in with normals to pressure, mess up on a block string, and I eat a 5D or 2D CH due to the iframes. It also doesn't help that Noel only has 4 guard primers and 1 drive block string can deplete all guard primers at once, so just playing patient and blocking doesn't work. -.-
