An option select is something that either offensively or defensively negates two or more options your opponent has with a single (usually) input. The only Blazblue option select I know of off the top of my head is back barrier. If timed correctly it acts as a throw tech so if you tech into back barrier and your opponent grabs you the throw will automatically break. If you tech and back barrier and your opponent does a pressure string you will be blocking. Bam, two options beat by one input. Although I've tried the back barrier option select in CS I wouldn't recommend it. It was completely free in CT but it seems the window has been changed or something cause it gets hit by throw reject miss all the time. I dunno try it out in training, use with discretion etc etc.

the a.i. has no variety anyway. A.I. carl always opens with forward dash allegretto. I always open against A.I. carl with AA 5B and it CHs. Theres no logical way to fix this without fucking up other things. I heard somewhere that the A.I. in brawl actually learned from the human players. Just lol. -
Input dash a couple frames before bang can actually dash. 2D as soon as you see him move. Its easy on every character but you need to d.2B to be right next to them before the 623B or else it usually wont work.

as soon as she hits 5C block high and block 2C on reaction. If it weren't for parry loop this match would be so bad for Makoto lol, but since no one can do it online... well yeah poor her

I notice a lot of Lambdas like to random 236C and then IAD backwards if its blocked. This can be punished on normal block with d5B j4C etc. It looks fucking manly as fuck. On IB you can just d5B anyway and I think it CHs lol. On normal block d5B catches backdash but you have to be fucking ready to do j4C if you hit them in the air cause thats nearly unhitconfirmable. Read the backdash or the air backdash and you can always get a combo off of normal blocked parser.

for low hitting oki I'd always go for 5a 2a cause if the 5a hits as well you'll get a bigger combo and it keeps people from auto piloting block one low than block high on wakeup. for more interesting oki stay up close and do 5a 5b than gatling into 5C or 6A. For a quick double low reset 5a 2a 5a 2a. If they are jumping out of this stuff their jump with 5b 6a Dacidbro I swear by that AA combo but I understand why some people don't like it. It's really not situational at all but if you hit them really high with 5a 5b may whiff. I just adjust accordingly if that happens.

If the 2nd j4C is whiffing the opponent is too low and you need to leave out the 2nd j4C and just djC. TK d nails after the BNB doesnt mean anything to me. TK d nails is just 2369D

5A should be used for punishing (instant blocks, punishing whiffs if you are close, etc) and sometimes as AA. 5B should be used for most everything else. Spacing, frame traps etc. example AA combo with 5A: 5A 5B j4C j623B 5B 623B d.6C jD 2B 6C jC Bang anti air is kind of limited outside of 5A. Try 2D VERY sparingly, and on a yomi'd jump 6C.

Hey, you wanna hear an oxymoron? Impractical, high damage combo. Lol 6A 623B d.6C jD 6A j.B j.4C j623B 5B 2B j4C jC 3983 no Noel Hazama Litchi Tsubaki or Hakumen edit oops lol I had my damage mixed up. the no oki version does 4.2 :p
