First time I saw Tessa I mistook her for a Darkstalkers character, since at the time I had no idea what Red Earth/Warzard was. If you think about it, it's weird there hasn't been a witch yet. A dullahan would make an excellent rival for Bishamon, as Samurais are something akin to Japanese knights(or were at one time). A grim reaper type character would be cool too, maybe using a dual bladed scythe. An exorcist or priest type character(think Anderson from Hellsing) would be pretty sick.

I still prefer X2's Awe of She, it just sounds better to me for some reason, less congested sounding maybe. Same with Feel a Fear which though not to the same degree. Agreed with Bloodstained Lineage though, particularly the heavy rock version which is just awesome. Though I still like Testament's original theme best. Other X superiors to me are: Solitude Megatona, which got nerfed the hardest in its transition to X2 IMO. The Original Babel Nose though I never really liked it

Hey wait up now 3rd Strike's soundtrack is still pretty awesome. A different kind of awesome but definitely one of the best soudntracks for a fighter. I would say the SF3 series was the highlight of SF as far as music goes. Well...really I guess for SF in general. I think the best way to experience the GGX tracks is the heavy rock versions, since the original tracks' sound system sounds really outdated now. Honestly, I prefer the GGX2 Awe of She over the GGX original as well, though maybe that's cause I heard it first. I know it's supposed to be the other way around but the GGX version I just don't like as much. It's the synth. GGX's version has a more noticeable synth sound through it(I don't know much about instruments but listen to the two side by side and you'll know what I mean). Though maybe this version surpasses both.

I dunno some versions of the GGX2's music I prefer, some I like the GGX versions more. Then even those that are inferior still sound pretty good. Solitude and Pot's theme got nerfed hardest though. I think Sol's theme sounds better in GGX2 though, despite it being a little less busy. The drums are more noticeable.

BROKENTIER - Clothing for virtual punchy game players
Soothesayer replied to koogy's topic in Zepp Museum
I thought it was pretty obvious too. I liked it, and it doesn't make you look like a complete geek since it's just awesome regardless of whether you know what it signifies or not. I'd wear it. And Johnny's hat? Lol come on guys... -
I like Ragna but it's called DUSTLOOP, so only Sol. He's the mascot even.

The OFFICIAL Guilty Gear Canon Plotline Q & A Thread
Soothesayer replied to Blade's topic in Zepp Museum
It's not outright stated, but going from Blade's posted timeline it seems pretty reasonable. I don't think I can see Justice without an America joke coming to mind anymore. Funny how the U.S ends up screwing the world over. -

So wait, Justice is American? 0_o That would explain the red, white, and blue...the name too even. -
The OFFICIAL Guilty Gear Canon Plotline Q & A Thread

Oh okay I see, that means I-no just saved Ky and altered the way the crusades were won rather than saving Ky and causing them to win in the first place. Thanks(again lol) for clearing things up Suzaku. -
The OFFICIAL Guilty Gear Canon Plotline Q & A Thread
Soothesayer replied to Blade's topic in Zepp Museum
I had read somewhere that according to one of the drama CDs that I-no originally came from an alternate future where humanity was on the verge of total defeat by the gears(lead by Dizzy) and that she went back in time to save Ky's life, who's life was necessary for humans beating the gears(in I-no's timeline, Ky had died,a nd the holy order fell apart). I believe if my memory serves correctly it was That man who told her how to do this. This would explain why she despises Dizzy. This could just be drama CD canon and not overall GG story canon, but if it was true I-no would've actually saved the world, despite being a sadistic bitch who revels in others' torment(though we should note her intentions revolve around fulfilling That Man's schemes). It also puts the whole Dizzy hate in a new perspective... I kind of want to know what happens to Anji and I-no, would be pretty awesome if Anji ends up sticking with TM for good and they need to expand on I-no's character/backstory actually in-game. Plus her beef with Sol is the best in the game .And she's the only character who outright hates Dizzy. And who's the bandaged person? -
This Better be the reason they haven't brought over 5R. Goh is so badass.

BlazBlue Setting Material Collection Information
Soothesayer replied to Suzaku's topic in Zepp Museum
Ragna seems a bit more neutral to me now. I mean really, he's not fighting the GOOD FIGHT against the NOL so they can stop whoring everything or to save the world, he seems to be doing it more out of vengeance and for Saya. Though...ugh I forget, does Ragna know he's the black beast? Or does he just think that's the azure giving him power? -
BlazBlue Setting Material Collection Information
Soothesayer replied to Suzaku's topic in Zepp Museum
Lol I tried to avoid posting that originally. But yeah, the game makes it as if Ragna is a good guy and the library is just a corrupt government trying to make him look like the villain, though really he is as dangerous as they say. I wonder if Hakumen's story will go into detail about his battle against the black beast, the 6 heroes, or even the process of him becoming Hakumen. -

Cool story. Ragna is a badass. But that's old news really lol. -
Nah Anji is just that freakin awesome. Never noticed the Ragna sword thing though. It's pretty funny.

Well to be honest the same could be said with most of SF's cast compared to KOF's, KOF just oozes more flair and variety, both in looks and move sets. I like SF's gameplay more since it usually feels more solid and polished but I prefer KOF in just about every other aspect. SF3 series' Remy certainly has the KOF flamboyance though.

Vice is a cool gal but we've digressed enough, and it seems my earlier question won't be answered...so yeah, back on topic. I already answered I believe, though there is one thing regarding choosing BB mains that I wanted to ask GG players: did you guys originally go for a character that you thought would play closest to your GG main?
-
:(She's my favorite KOF girl and 2nd favorite KOF character(behind Iori). She's insane and crazy strong for such a small chick too. I tend to go for female fighters in most games myself. I pretty much never main a manly man.
-
Now I have to ask, why do you hate females in fighting games? Personally I prefer Nu as a girl, as a dude in blue skintight cheek hugging spandex with a piece of metal over his crotch does not seem appealing in the slightest.

Alright, I'll admit, perhaps the "not evolving" thing was foolish of me to say, since GG has improved gameplay wise with every new iteration for the most part, you don't have to be pro to realize this. I even said before the gameplay has gotten better/deeper, which is a great thing and what sequels/follow-ups/updates/whatever you call them should do. But I do still want a GGX3 -who doesn't at this point - and I do think it should go beyond what it is now, along with some changes(good ones though, KOF12 did not it right, despite being a good game in its own right it didn't really succeed as a sequel like it should have). There definitely is a risk with more drastic changes, but without that kind of risk, do you think GG would've became what it is today? Don't get me wrong, GG1 is alright but you can honestly say you would've rather had the series go off in its direction over the one it took with GGX? I know I wouldn't have. I don't think Arc should make the changes so drastic as to where it's not even GG anymore, that's NOT a good thing, but if they can pull another GG1->GGX(smoother in transition though, and better) then that'll be grand. Whether Arc succeeds on that or not would be test of how great of game developers they really are. It's not even that the current installments are bad -they're not at all, no one is denying they're great games, just that well people are wanting to see more now, and by now GG should be on that next level. Revisions I expect, and I have no problem with them, until that's all we start getting(talking about the main X series here). Then it becomes an issue of when that next step for the series is going to be taken, and more importantly which direction to take it. Really, GG would be more appreciated if the general communitty of gamers weren't so damn narrow-minded, impatient, and willing to put more effort into games than just an hour's worth into learning it. Publicity is a big part of it as well(say guilty gear and some think it's a robo porno), but the fault also lies in with the general gamer community themselves. Those reads were interesting Zeech, thanks.

I had thought ASW got the rights to GG back, maybe that was just a rumor? I don't want a worse GG game though, no one does I would imagine. I'm happy with my GG now but if a new, better GG came out, I would get it in a heartbeat, and be much happier. Doesn't mean I'll stop playing the one I have now, I'll probably play it less, but I wouldn't sell it. You mentioned change in the VG industry Zeech, that's one thing that's really big for me. I'm the sort of gamer who as long as I find a game fun, I'll play it until I die. I still pop in 16-bit games on a daily basis cause well they're damn fun. I don't get rid of my games either unless I have to or in need of money for one I want. But I also like to see games develop and grow, push themselves to their limits and surpass the limits of yesterday. Even the games of back then did that for their time, and it's part of what made them great other than just being enjoyable to play. I definitely want the industry to move forward while still making enjoyable and quality games, but at the same time gamers shouldn't forsake the gems of the past and honor those as well, not only because they're great games, but also to appreciate how far the industry has come and not forget what has made games what they are today. Hmmm...I can see where the ire of the GG community is coming from in this respect, in that fans are abandoning GG for the new and shiny(like most gamers do with any genre). I guess you really could say the present-day gaming community is addicted to change, not to mention fickle and generally want instant gratification. GG1 compared to BB isn't as a good a comparison as say, GGX and BB, since the X series is what got GG more or less famous(well, more well known than GG1 did) and X2 is based more off GGX's formula than GG1. GG1 I never played but vids of it make me laugh. Chipp's standing animation is too retarded lol.

Er actually I've been playing GG much longer than BB(and still do to this day, don't think I'm a BB newbie who just discovered GG last week...I played it more than any other fighter I own in fact) and am a GG fan, not pro status mind you but no newb either. And I'm actually afraid BB will fall into the same path, that was always my biggest concern for the franchise since it first hit arcades. I'm fine with one revamp, two's really pushing it(honestly, I would've rather had them stop at the final reload and just work on GGX3 then) but by the time the third one I just want a new game already(Isuka does not count though, that just wasn't doing it), and I'm not the only one who felt this way(in fact, it's one complaint many critics and fans have had about the series). It seemed like everything after X2 felt like an update rather than a true sequel - which is fine at first, but after a while you want more than just GGX2*insert subtitle here* + stuff. The gameplay has become more polished and in-depth due to added mechanics and moves which a good thing, but maybe I'm just greedy, I'd like to see the entire game improve, not just a couple of aspects. I'd also like to see the core gameplay change for the better, while not being too different so that it doesn't feel GG anymore. The step the RBFF series made to Garou is a nice example of the kind of change I'd like to see, though I wouldn't want half of the GG cast to disappear either. Another thing and one a lot of longtime GG players seem to scoff is accessibility. Okay, first of all, a game that's easier to pick up =/= dumbed down. Unfortunately, that's often the association hardcore fighting game players seem make with accessibility. GG catered itself to the hardcore with later titles, which resulted in a lot of not-so-hardcore players being alienated from it. The game definitely has an initial wall in it, one which takes a lot of personal dedication to climb. Now personally I think gamers in general should definitely spend time with fighting games before reaching a conclusion about it, but in reality if most gamers aren't into a game within 30 minutes-1st hour, they're probably not going to like it. The majority of gamers(fighting ones aren't exempt from this either) lack the personal dedication or desire for whatever reason to get over that initial wall GG has now. I've tried getting more than a couple of people who love fighters into GG and they lose interest rather quickly, from not being able to grasp the basic flow of the game and do much of anything except flail around stupidly and lose, tossing out a special move or two every so often. You're probably saying "to hell with them, they can go noob it up on SF or Tekken" and I don't like that lack of dedication anymore than you, but if you can't get even get them interested in wanting them to play the game extensively, then they'll never grasp the inner depth and beauty of it, which is sadly what happened a lot of gamers with GG. In the terms of gathering a fanbase, the next GG should be more accessible to non-hardcore players but also without sacrificing it's depth and variety. That way more people can get into GG and appreciate it without necessarily "dumbing" it down. How Arc achieves this is on them, but I think that's sort of what they're trying to go for with BB. Not sying GG should turn itself into BB, it shouldn't and vice versa, but a major issue with GG fanbse wise is that it's just not an accessible game for lot of gamers, which makes it difficult for the fanbase to grow efficiently. EDIT @Mam: I know what you mean with that, a game should be enjoyable before anything else right? If it's not enjoyable then what's the point of playing, Evo or not. I see where you're coming from, and I have no problem with that reasoning, I agree with it. Absolutely nothing wrong in disliking a game you don't enjoy playing.
