[XRD] Sin Kiske Gameplay Discussion "Playing with Poles"
Renegade replied to Ventus Tatshima's topic in Sin Kiske
Man, you anime players and your focus on "oki". It's not the end all be all, especially considering sins neutral. "Man, Sin doesn't have Millia oki, he sucks!!!" Space people out w 6P, S, cS, Stab, and fly swatter. Use ky slide to get in, it's plus on block. Work on crossups. He's got big combos off low/high/throw, I'm not sure what else do you need. He's also great at building up guard bar since he can special cancel so much. -
Hey guys, new to BB completely and new to tager. Is there one "catch-all" B&B type string that can 1) start from 5A,5B, or 5C (spacing, post gadget finger) 2) apply magnetism 3) doesn't require mag 4) doesn't require spark 5) sets up a good oki situation. Looking at the combos, it looks like the ones that end in J.D-> Grand Punish are the best.

That's probably not too late. Scheduling for Friday night isn't exact yet. What will probably happen is this: On stream will be 4 person single elim playoff. If more than 4 guys want to play, we'll play them off before the stream to get to 4. he did it at Final Round: here's the vid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CX9ridAgNm8

I'll be there Saturday/Sunday, if you have a minute, I'd like to talk to you about Civil War. Hopefully, with a minimum amount of "EAD"'s as possible.
-
Yeah, but I don't have to be talked to like that for simply asking a question. It's not cool. I get it, unless you're one of these (A,B,C) dudes, the tournament is regionally seeded then random. I'm ok with that, and my question was answered.
-
woooooowww.... I ask "is this tournament seeded? Cuz this may be an issue?" And I get this. I had already let it go, my question was answered, and then you had to go off like this. Come on, man.
-
Maybe, once you leave the NY/NJ/PA area, you cease to exist? Must be it. There's some conflicting information here, as the one guy says "yes there's seeding" and st1ckbug says its region only. Region only is okay i guess, but it's never really "region only", cuz I'm sure you wouldn't have had some japanese player play LK first round or something. I mean, it's whatever, I was just asking out of curiosity. Psyken will probably beat MP, he has before. Shame it'll be so early though.
-
Are these seeded? Marlinpie's first match would be PsyKen (assuming he wins of course).. Psyken got 2nd at SJ beating LK and SKD, then lost to SKD in the finals.
-
Just FYI, I have an inclination to run this 3 of 5 the whole way. This game is crazy fast.
-
DJHoushen, ATL's Jeffrey Powell and FR Roachking will be in attendence for Persona.
-
Awesome! Should be a pretty good turnout. I still have fun w/ the game.

The venue will be Comfort Inn Midtown Conference Center in Richmond, VA. We will have two ballrooms with over 7000 sq ft of space! This is the same location we’ve had River City Runbacks and River City Bowl, with the added bonus of a secondary ballroom. Room blocks have been added at an ULTRA discount rate of 59$ per night. The tourney experience is always better when I have more time to plan for the correct amount of attendance! The pre party! There will be an event at our local Barcade: Strange Matter, the night before on April 27th. Expect old school tournaments, team tourneys, and just general games+bar merriment. Also, we will be doing pre reg check ins, pool assignments, and last minute (at door) registrations there. Without further ado… The Games! All games will be on Xbox 360 using VGA CRT monitors. Where: Comfort Inn Midtown. 3200 W Broad St Richmond VA 23220 Venue Fee: 10$ Online pre-register until midnight 9/8/2011 EST. 15$ at the door. Register early! No exuses! Registration page will be on RVAtournaments.com! EVENTS! Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition system: Xbox360 on HD lagless CRT computer monitors fee: 10$ singles 5$ 3v3 teams (waseda style) Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds system: Xbox360 on HD lagless CRT computer monitors fee: 10$ singles 5$ 5v5 teams (waseda style) Mortal Kombat 9 (all dlc characters allowed) system: Playstation 3 on CRT tube tvs fee: 10$ singles 5$ 2v2 tag teams Street Fighter 3: Third Strike Online Edition!! system:Xbox360 on HD lagless CRT computer monitors Fee: 10$ singles 5$ 3v3 teams (waseda style) Tekken 6 system: Playstation 3 on CRT tube TVs Fee 10$ singles Blazblue CS2 system Xbox360 on HD lagless CRT computer monitors Fee: 10$ Singles Arcana Heart 3 Fee: 5$ singles Playstation 3 on CRT tube TVs If a certain ST supergun shows up, we will have an ST tourney as well. BYOC AREA! Feel free to bring whatever setup with whatever game you want. Practice your main games or bring some esoteric game that no one plays but you to make yourself feel better! There will be table space and room. Just don't ignore your tournament games! THE SETUPS: The majority of this tournament (where feasible) is 360 exclusive. 360's are hooked up to old school Dell Computer monitors via VGA cables for high res, lag free gaming. There will be some letterboxing due to the 1320x 768 resolutoin, but it's not noticable after awhile (mvc3 automatically does this on 4:3 screens) I'm tired of the uncertainty of random LCD panels. No more. These will be the best setups you've ever played on. If you are a PS3 pad user: I highly recommend buying a Dual Shock 2 and a PS2->360 converter. I will buy some for loan, but make it easy on yourself, please. Defintion of "waseda style" team tournaments. A vs A, B vs B, C vs C. Then any remaining players play in alpha order. A, B, and C positions are locked to prevent countering. Not only does this format ensure that everyone plays, it's also faster to run because the 3 initial games can be run simultaneously on 3 setups. Refunds: Generally, if you paid for a game and are placed in the bracket, none. Tournaments take a long time. Be prepared for this. I've taken many measures to ensure the majority of every tournament this time around is completed within a timely manner. Online preregistrations, increased # of setups, greater space, more staff, and a fun atmosphere should make it so no one will even request for one. Pools/Seeding/Lateness- I will be assigning pools based on pre registrations. If you are late or do not pre reg, don't expect to be seeded away from your buddies or away from the other killers in the bracket. Team tournaments will take place before singles, to ensure they actually get ran. :-D

A Virginia Monthly! Let's get all of SOVA/Cville/Fred/NOVA out to play! NC and MD, where you guys at? 9/18/2010 signups 12pm start time 1pm Strange matter is a Restaurant/Venue/Arcade in good old RVA (get it?) They have been awesome to work with an very open for the community to place cabinets in there of games we'd like to play. They are happy to host our events, but to support them, make sure to pick up a beer and/or a meal and remember to tip your server well. 929 West Grace Street Richmond VA 23220 Games: Super Street Fighter Four (PS3/Xbox360) 10$ SSF4 3v3 teams Blazblue CS : 5$ Registration Fee: 5$ (This fee goes towards maintenance of games; purchasing new boards/cabs; new sticks/etc) Capcom vs SNK 2 (ARC) 5$(PHOTO) 3rd Strike (ARC) 5$ (PHOTO) Marvel vs Capcom 2 (ARC) 5$(PHOTO) SF2: SuperTurbo (ARC) 5$(PHOTO) UMK3 (ARC) Possible: Vampire Savior (ARC) Please Sign up and Register on this thread. The tournament will be run using Tonamento: and I'll personally seed the brackets. Parking is plentiful around the venue, but it's in a city, so you're going to either have to be crafty or pay some money. In front of the Venue is metered parking at .50 an hour. I'm not really sure if the meters are checked on saturdays, but they only go until 6pm anyway. Beside the venue is a lot with "Honor Box" paid parking for 6$. However, you can't leave your space once you park there. One block away on broad street is VCU's parking deck for the Siegal Center and the bookstore. The lot is usually open on weekends and is free if no events are being run. If an event is going on, parking is like 5 dollars. This is my recommended parking solution. Housing/Lodging More than likely, we will be playing games at the arcade or at someone's house on friday night, so if you're not an early riser, come hang the night before! Several local Richmond players can house people on Fri/Sat: There are also hotels: The all around best choice for hotel is the comfort inn on broad st. The holiday inn on boulevard and other really cheap options are around but are kinda in the ghetto, There is always the holiday inn express/Omni/or Jefferson downtown if you are ballin. Game Rules: All tournaments will be best of 3. WF, LF, GF are best of 5. Cabinet tournaments are subject to be single elimination if time is a factor. payouts are 60/30/10 unless it's under 10 entrants, then it's winner take all. SSFIV Rules: Winner can change ultra, must choose ultra first. 3v3 rules: Whole tournament character lock. No two characters on a team.
