  1. Fixed. But in general, all of our scenes are really strong, thanks to Lovegety, Orbit, etc.
  2. I need SSF4: Arcade Edition...
  3. Remeber this game guys? And this character that everyone loved? They are finally holding loke tests for it so we might see an arcade release soon.
  4. Yeah, I walk to Lovegety every Friday. I'll take the Viva Purple for two stops sometimes as well. Takes me 10 - 15 minutes.
  5. I haven't been following the new footage too closely, why is Noel suddenly the best?
  6. There was an article on SRK about the pros and cons of the Nesica live system, and apparently one of the "cons" is that the software is very easily pirated. So maybe they pirated CS2 and put it on a harddrive, which they're sending over to the fiends in Toronto? Man, if this actually goes down, Lovegety will be crawling with Americans too, this will be awesome. AE and CS2 = best Christmas break in history. Pretty much exactly this. But if we do get the game, I'll be playing it 100% though...
  7. Don't feel bad, I bailed too, and I bailed first! Plus my appearance at Nemesis would have been Toronto's first visit to Montreal for BB, while it would have been your second. So yeah, you really don't need to worry bro. We'll see you guys at T12!
  8. Would anyone mind asking the boss tomorrow when we might expect the SSF4 cabs. He probably doesn't know, but it'd be much appreciated.
  9. They must have thought there was a market for those titles in North America, otherwise they simply wouldn't have released them here. Furthermore, no one plays those games, no one wanted those games, so that hardly counts as doing a lot for us. I feel like we won't really be convincing each other any time soon, so maybe we should agree to disagree. It was a good debate though, really livened up the thread.
  10. Well, how many BB:CT boards/CS keys were sold in North America? I'd say 20 at most, if I had to guess, and even that's generous. Yeah, Ak Sys would be fucking over the arcade community but they're a business, not a charity. There's no reason for them to cater to the international market and I accept that. Outside of Japan, they're only focused on consoles. I still think you're one of the only people who believes that buying into BB will bring about a new GG. Sorry man.
  11. For the record, I was planning on dropping the game anyway. CS2 just gives me an excuse to do so, even if it's a weak one.
  12. Haha, thanks K2, you're the best  In a nut shell, I don't like how they're making the game boring, shallow and too balanced. I also don't like how Arc Sys is trying to ensure the game will be played the way they want it to be played. It was immediately evident months ago that virtually no one has damage options midscreen. The loke tests confirmed this. There's nothing to discover in this regard because you can't just make options appear out of thin air; it's simply a fact, hardwired into the game's programming. Look at Ragna for example. What does he have now? He just has mashy gatlings xx Hell's Fang. Or maybe ground string into launcher xx Belial's Edge, which throws your opponent across the screen...to the corner. Now you can do combos that do more than 1500 damage. Look at Bang. 623B doesn't wall bounce anymore, so you have 5 hit combos that wall carry and that's it. Like I said, I can't just magically change the facts of the game. If you want to do anything else midscreen, you have to have 50 heat. Look at Hazama; the sole purpose of his combos is to farm for Houtenjin so he can actually do some damage. The only thing left to discover in this game are max damage corner combos. The midscreen/neutral/push-and-pull game is more like Street Fighter, which is fine, I love Street Fighter, but I want to play BlazBlue. It makes no sense that starters that are really hard to connect with, like Tager's CH j. D, do 3K now. The risk is the same (j. D got nerfed actually, so nevermind), but the reward is worse. That encourages turtling because offense is less rewarding, obviously. The fact that more normals are air unblockable doesn't really change much; escaping corners will still be brain dead easy for the better characters on the roster. It's hard enough as it is to press an advantage in this game with the lack of oki. With all that being said, if they took out the tech roll system, I'd make this my main game again.
  13. This is exactly how I feel. I bought the BB:CT Collector's Edition for $100 because it was the only way I could get it on console on day 1. Then I bought BB:CS for an equally marked up price. I'm almost afraid to calculate how much money I've spent on CT and CS at the arcade since April 2008. Like K2 said, I've done my part in funding development for games I want to play. Blade, I feel like you're advocating blind fanboyism. I don't like what they're doing to BB, so I'm going to stop playing. If they give me what I want, I'll come back, but I'm not going to let them milk me until that happens. You also need to remember that the Toronto community is very different from the Montreal community. We're almost completely arcade based. If CS2 is not at the arcade, I won't play it. Edit: I hate consoles. I'll play KOF XIII because it's made with an old school arcade ethic. I'll play MvC3 because I think it'll be fun to play while drunk.
  14. You mistake me for a grizzled GG veteran; I'm technically a new blood scrub who started with BB. I only got into GG recently; before 2008, I had never played an "anime fighter" in my life. Objectively speaking, GG is better than BB as a competitive fighter, that's an inarguable fact. I'm not going to reward Arc Sys with my money for taking the game in a direction I don't like. I pay for and invest time in products that I enjoy. I'm also not banking on a sequel to Accent Core any time soon; buying Blazblue doesn't necessarily guarantee the development of a new GG. If their current business model is working for them, then why would they change? BB didn't magically conjure up a market for GG; I'd say between 1% and 0.01% of all the people who bought BB went on to try GG. Edit: Also Lovegety won't have it, so my interest in the series died fast. Lovegety is getting SSF4: Arcade Edition, which is why my interest in SF4 is at an all time high.
  15. Yeah, CS combos are too long, but it doesn't bother me that much. CT combos weren't that much shorter from what I remember. But I agree, I like shorter combos that deal big damage...hey, kind of like GG. I'm sensing a pattern here . Or SF, which I fell back in love with. Even if I do drop BB, I can pick it up again any time I want, it's not like Tager is even remotely complex...or good, but I digress.
  16. When I say mashy combos, I mean like roll your face across the buttons and cancel into a special move ender. Midscreen without meter, that's all anyone can do, except for Tager ironically, who retains his double Collider combos. For like 2.5K though. I actually really liked that characters in CS did ludicrous amounts of damage off stupid shit. It reminded me of the old school games I love where everyone has scary options and can kill you in a few guesses. That's what I find fun about fighting games. Carl's unblockables into 6000, taunt loops into 7000, Arakune's instant overhead j. C for 10 000, Bang's 5A into 3000, Litchi's everything into wtflol damage, Hakumen's insane damage off high level starters plus his death combos, Hazama's FC Houtenjin madness. Even Rachel's combos could reach 6-7K with enough wind, meter and the right starter. All of that is gone now, the game has been completely neutered. I will remain open to the possibility that things can change because the game is still new, but I feel like Arc Sys' vision for the game has been hardwired into its code; they tried their best to ensure that things play out a certain way. And I think that's really, really bad. It's like a crappier version of GG now...so why not just play GG? So yeah, I probably quit, or something. TL;DR -- Brokenness is fun, this game has none, therefore it's not very fun. No, it has an infinite amount of super armour apparently . But like I said it loses to all lows.
  17. So far, it looks like BBCS2 is all about mashing out short 1.5K combos with the hopes of eventually getting enough meter to do something. Tager's 2C still has FC properties, but it only does 3K, which I guess is a lot for this game? Charged 6A super armour is strong now, but I feel like it's going to suck in a few days. Absorbing any move that gatlings into lows is asking for a CH.
  18. :v: Why didn't you mention this earlier? My respect for you has doubled haha. Edit: Holy shit, Day 1 CS2 videos are up. There are Hakumens in every video lol. Editx2: Whoa, everything leads to a staggering...2000 damage. For now anyway. I saw Mu doing 4K combos. Also Tager's 6B is a Fatal Counter now, what the fuck. If that means they took away 2C fatal counter, I officially retire.
  19. Favourite bands? I love me some hip hop as well. I just saw J. Cole perform live on the 3rd, it was a sick show. I'm also a huge fan of rap battles. To be fair though, "huge fan" barely scratches the surface haha, I'm a fiend.
  20. Nope, she lives here in Toronto with me haha, but she loves Montreal as much as I do. Edit: I can't remember the last time I listened to Sonata Arctica, brings back a lot of memories. Also I will freely admit that Montreal has the best metal scene in Canada, and probably one of the best scenes in the western hemisphere. Keep it up guys haha.
  21. Outside of GG's godlike soundtrack, who else listens to metal? But yeah, I can't make it to Nemesis II anymore, I just don't have the money right now to make the trip. I'm also losing interest in playing BB competitively, even with CS2 around the corner...I'd rather play GG and BB casually to be honest. Maybe the game has run its course for me.
  22. You play guitar (right?) in a melodic death metal band, just like I did in the past, your ears are fucked man, that's why you don't mind Lovegety's noise.
  23. If you plan on doing that, make sure she wears sound canceling headphones or the kind of ear muffs that construction workers wear. My ears used to ring after long sessions at Lovegety, but they stopped, probably due to minor hearing loss. I would hate for that to happen to an infant.
  24. Damn, you could take the whole thing with that kind of training regimen.
