  1. We'll have to plan something, whereabouts do you live?
  2. I love this game so so much. If any of you are hosting casuals, I'll definitely play, I'm hungry for some human competition.
  3. Pui, you have to main MvC3, it would be so hype to see you play in tourney. It's definitely better than BB and SF4, the only reason to not fiend it is that Gety doesn't have it.
  4. For Pui: MvC3 system mechanics. This page has character specific guides and other goodies.
  5. X-23, Hulk and Dr. Doom for me.
  6. The game has hitstun scaling too, so your opponent will just tech out of a combo after a certain number of hits. Going with pure zoning eh? Interesting, I think that's a good choice.
  7. Early retail copy or other means?
  8. You can usually get two Ultras every round if you farm a little bit, so I'd say Ultras are worse A few people now, including Justin Wong, are saying that combos are too easy and do too much damage, but I can't wait to play this game. If everyone and everything in this game is broken, that means it's balanced  Yeah, he has a combo that starts with cr. B that does 50%, which leads to a 50/50 reset, guess right and they die. <3 MvC3.
  9. From match videos I've seen, if you activate X-Factor randomly, then run around for like 5 seconds, then land your first hit, you don't get an unscaled combo. But if you activate and hit your opponent within a second or so, you do. Hermes' explanation is good, and he's right, I think it's a good mechanic too. A lot of people are complaining that everything does too much damage, but I love it. Because you can only do it once, and it's only really strong if you have one character left. Yeah, I have MSN I'm on it a couple nights a week, I'll add you through Dustloop.
  10. It looks like I screwed up a particular detail on MvC3's X-Factor cancel; it looks like you only get the damage boost if you activate right at the beginning of a combo, or in the middle of one. It doesn't give you a damage boost Rage Mode style if you activate randomly, because I guess the game's developers realized that was stupid. If you activate randomly, you only move faster and recover red health. That makes it an infinitely more balanced mechanic.
  11. I'm the blue Tager you had mirror matches with a few weeks ago, yeah, you're good . Leo's right, be sure to work on your execution, I saw you do a lot of 6B xx B-Sledges when you meant to MTW. Also you love to back dash, but I wasn't punishing you for it; someone who plays the game more regularly would be able to though.
  12. Oh, this combo? Like I said, this is nothing It's not a glitch. Thor activated his Level 3 X-Factor in order to command throw out of block stun. X-Factor lets you move faster, recover red life and your combos don't scale. However, you can only do this once per game and you only have access to Level 3 XFC when your two other characters are dead. It's a really balanced mechanic, you can use it so many different ways; like a really scary gold burst that does insane damage, like a roman cancel, like Blood Heat, etc. It's hard to make comebacks in the MvC series when you only have one character, so this makes it easier without being broken. And we haven't even had Day 1 of this game yet, it's like Day -6. The combos you listed are the same as doing mash gatlings xx special move ender in BB. There's a lot more depth there, you'll see it, I've seen some crazy shit already but it's been taken down by Capcom. Yeah, but now they don't have any meter, and they burned their X-Factor at Level 1, which is a terrible decision; you have 2 characters left with a lot of meter and a Level 2 X-Factor, which is a lot more damaging and lasts a lot longer.
  13. Why? My logic is sound. Death combos on single characters aren't that bad, considering how expensive they are and how much health you have left. It's not broken or overpowered or anything, it's just how the game is. But I agree that being an arcade purist = the best way to be. I just really want to play MvC3 lol.
  14. The term "100% combo" is misleading. Unless this "glitch" kills your entire team, you're just losing a single character, or 33% of your aggregate health. Combos that take away a third of your life happen all the time in GG, but no one bats an eye. It's really not as bad as you think, especially considering it takes at least 3 bars and your only X-Factor Cancel to kill an opposing character. This game is going to be really fun, you should play it.
  15. I love how every hit leads to a death combo. Shit, they really don't make them like this anymore...
  16. The first round of this video shows precisely why Gety needs to get HnK again:
  17. First trailer for Under Night In-Birth, the new game from the creators of Melty Blood. Waldstein looks retardedly cool, if this comes to console/Gety, he's my main for sure:
  18. Care to elaborate? That sounds interesting.
  19. Yeah, I just randomly found it on Google image search for pictures that are exactly 160 x 60, thought it was funny. Also:
  20. Tunisian revolution + Egyptian revolution = start of something huge, a turning point in history. Edit: This image is the perfect avatar size, free to use for whoever lol
  21. +1 However, I technically belong to that new generation of fighting gamers (began playing seriously in '08), but I got my start at Lovegety and I never stopped. That cutthroat, competitive environment shaped me as a player, so I became decent by adapting in order to be able to compete. That's the difference that arcades make.
  22. Heroes World, just down the street at Warden and 7, hosts SF4 casuals every Wednesday and Friday. I went once and there were at least 15 - 20 people, which is a great turnout. They were all XBL pad scrubs, the only person worth playing was Blitzman, it was a collosal waste of time. I spent the whole night teaching everyone how to play lol. You need to play at the arcade to be good, period. And 99% of those guys will never step foot inside of Lovegety.
  23. El Fuerte? I play him as a secondary, I can teach you the match up. Midscreen, you can poke the shit out of Fuerte because he has no ground game whatsoever. It was improved a little bit in AE, but his footsies are still weak. If he tries to run at you and you aren't knocked down, jump back jab or short will beat all of his options off run. But if he knocks you down, you have to deal with the mix ups, and these are his options: QCF+P~LP = Stop. He stops running, and he can use this to bait your jumps and DPs. They buffed the stopping time, he stops in 1 or 2F now as opposed to 3. QCF+P~MP = Splash. It's a fast overhead that can cross up. Seems spammable, but it's very unsafe, something like -15 on block. You can focus absorb Splashes and crumple Fuerte. That's probably the easiest way to deal with it. A common Fuerte tactic to look out for is cr. MK (hold d/b) xx cross up splash (hold forward). QCF+P~HP = Fajita Buster. It looks exactly like the Splash in every way, but it's actually a throw lol. It's still possible to differentiate between the two because he doesn't say anything during this move (he yells TOSTADA PRESS during splashes). You can crouch it to make it whiff, and punish its recovery. But if you're blocking low, I'll just splash, so that's the stupid mix up. It beats focus attacks. QCF+P~LK = Back dash. It's a command back dash off runs, good for baiting but that's it. QCF+P~MK = "Gordita Sobat." He runs at you and does a little hop kick. +1 on block. Easily focused. Not really that good, but I still like it. QCF+P~HK = Slide. Hits low, -9 on block. Mostly used as a combo ender and a crappy punisher. QCB+P~HP = Tortilla Propeller. Fuerte's best move, period. It's a flying throw that can't be crouched. It also beats DPs with the right timing. If you try to back dash on wake up, he recovers too quickly to punish, but you still avoid it. If you try to jump, he can Ultra you lol. But as Sakura, you can just neutral jump to avoid, if he Ultras, just mash out a Tatsu and it'll mess up his timing. Fuerte's cr. RH looks like a slower version of his Run > Slide, except it's -1 on block, so it can't be punished by most of the cast. If you try to jab after you block the slide, you'll get thrown and the throw will always win. It's safest to just always tech the throw (until I have Ultra), but you can also DP, back dash or jump. Edit: Oh, and Sakura's jab DP on wake up is really good vs. Fuerte. It makes Tortillas and Splashes whiff, and it recovers too quickly for me to punish. Don't spam it though because I can just hit it with slides, but jab DP is still really good.
  24. Leo, you still playing Chun?
