  1. Just did some testing and if you replace the final 5C with 2C will net you 6K instead of 5.9K. Neglible difference though, which move to use mostly depends on spacing anyways. I personally think 6C>j.2C>2B>2C>Collider>B-Sledge>Followup(RC)>5C>Collider is a better combo despite being only about 5.8K because it's a lot more meter efficient and safer. You blow 50% if your opponent decides to burst after the B-Sledge in your combo.
  2. I personally opt for a "turtle-esque" approach towards this matchup, reason being that Tager is so darn slow it's easy to punish his attempts at getting as you proved by repeatedly landing 2C FCs. IB and Backdash into 360/720 are both pretty easy to land on Tagers trying jump, just need to watch the spacing. Both players played really sloppily here. Dropped combos, poor teching, random spark volts and whatnot. As a Tager player, you should know better than anyone else not to mash tech. Brush up on those combos and try playing less frantically. That's my 2 cents.
  3. Now just wait until you fight real players. Have to say though, I find losing to AI infinitely more frustrating than to human players. The stupid and random shit they do that actually works somehow...
  4. Can't complete I forgot to mention that. One of MTW's most useful properties for me. Works wonders against Bang's crossup shenanigans.
  5. I don't know about D, but MTW is definitely underrated and underused. Great as bait burst like you said and in unburstable setups. Also works as an anti-air since people like to hop on Tager's head to avoid 360/720s. MTW takes care of that real well. Probably won't work on smart opponents repeatedly but they'll think twice about any air-to-ground pressure on Tager when he's got 50% meter.
  6. 720 off 5A/2B whiff seems to be the next logical progression, unless you already know those.
  7. Hrmm... Well is there a difference between throwing someone who is crouch-blocking and someone who is standing-blocking?
  8. So it sounds like Tager might have an actual mixup now. Now if 6B is discovered to be an effective overhead...
  9. Congratulations for taking my post out of my context. If you had bothered to take a closer look, you'd realized I was responding to Matt's post and not the OP himself. Good job. Quality judgment.
  10. Until you absolutely destroy them that is. That makes all the suffering worth it.
  11. Awesome to hear this. Too bad, I live in Hsinchu so I won't be getting any play regularly.
  12. Yeah, I totally agree 100% here. Learning the other characters, understanding their move properties, their combos and strategies will do absolutely nothing to help you understand the matchup. I mean, how stupid is that? I agree, better to just stick with one character and look at matchups from your perspective solely. Guaranteed victory. I agree here, I mean look at Kaqn man. He's so good with Ragna, he won't even need to touch characters like Nu, Taokaka, Jin, or Hakumen. And Isa's Eddie is so good he wouldn't even need a secondary like Sol. Man, and don't even bring up Justin Wong. Guy's so good at SF4 he doesn't even need any other character 'cept Rufus. EDIT: <sighs> POST FIXED FOR PEOPLE WITH A SEVERE AND UTTER LACK OF THIS NIFTY THING
  13. I'd imagine it be better to learn the B&Bs of the character. Sure, it'd be more time-consuming, but by learning the characters of your opponents, you are able to put yourself in their shoes and learn how they think. You won't fully understand a matchup if you're looking at it from one single perspective. If you're serious getting good Reveur, I'd recommend getting a decent grasp on what each character can do. And the most thorough way of doing that would be to learn each character. Ultimately I think that would be more rewarding and worthwhile.
  14. Very important. Ego is probably the worst enemy of man. By the way, has anyone hear read Seth Killian's threads on the SRK forum subsection Domination 101? I think most of them are at least a year old, but they're all very good. Good thing, I think, to delve into fighting game psychology. Helps you improve your playing. And by a lot.
  15. It's either that or "I didn't come to play. I came to win." I need to start reminding myself of that before every match.
  16. While I generally believe that when fighting opponents who don't know how to deal with certain gimmicks or just general stupid stuff (Bsledge into 360A/B, neutral jump into 720, the100% MTW -> RC-> 360 mixup) you have the right to abuse them, but if you are aiming for higher level play, you have to break those habits. A couple of bad habits I noted in your videos. Only watched the ones with you fighting against Jin and Noel. - Throwing out non-comboed spark volts You might land 'em occasionally, but at higher levels of play, people will be expecting it and play extra safe. Don't throw 'em out. It's almost nearly a guaranteed waste of SV meter unless you're using SV to punish high-recovery wiffed moves, IADs (hard to do so on reaction), or long backdashes. SV is essential for a lot of Tager's high damaging combos, so just save it. - Compulsive backdashing Tager's hangover-length backdash can help you punish some stuff, but throw it out recklessly and you'll be looking foolish when you eat a nice fat combo. Pay attention to your opponent when they airdash in. Watch what moves they throw out. Bunch of jabs? Don't backdash. Slow recovering single hit move? Give 'em hell. - Random sledging Great tool for punishing Nu if she gets too comfortable with spamming swords, great tool for punishing Noel if she spams C and D moves, great tool for punishing Jin if he gets too fond of throwing out D moves and his little ice sword. Excellent for basic 720 tech traps. Combo essential. However, please do not throw this move out randomly. If you've got sick timing, you might use sledge A as anti-IAD. But generally, um, stay away. Throwing out Bsledges means a free nice CH combo for your opponent. Do not want. I'm not super articulate today, so please excuse me. That's my 2 cents for now. Definitely loads of other things the rest of my fellow Tagers can comment on, I just wanna be off to bed. If I sounded critical, I apologize. These are all habits I'm trying to beat out of myself (or rather, are all habits that are getting beaten out of me by the dudes at my local arcade) so I can be a bit touchy when I see 'em in others. A few more general pointers and then I'm off. Some should be painfully obvious, but then again, people forget obvious things sometimes. 1. Keep your cool. Don't lose your head. 2. Block low when enemy on ground and react to overheads, block high when he is in air 3. Research your character. Frame data, BnB, anti-air, pokes, etc. 4. Research all the other characters. Same as above. 5. If you do something repeatedly and it doesn't work, either you're doing it wrong or you should stop doing it period. 6. Practice. 7. Let your brain do the fighting. 8. Know your combos well enough not to have to pay conscious attention to execution. Know which situations call for which combos All I can squeeze out of my head for now. Merry Christmas.
  17. "BIG SOVIET DAMAGE!" That's about it really, I like doing lots of damage and thrashing and pounding people about. When I'm not getting pounded and thrashed around myself that is.
  18. I'm thinking it has something to do with your timing. Input the follow-up motion directly after you input the motion for Gigantor. That might do the trick.
  19. You can flick the second hit of Sol's Tyrant Rave. Don't know about Millia's top. I've never flicked whale before but I'd imagine you'd have to flick it whne it's nearly about to hit you.
  20. As Hi-C said, contrary to popular beliefs, Potemkin players don't jump but IAD. What he forgot to mention is that they also make use of FD cancel while rushing you down so they can buster you. It's true.
  21. if GGXX: AC comes out on PC, I will be a very very very happy man.
  22. I've recently been trying to get some of my classmates into Guilty Gear. One of them is a gaming maniac so I don't have to worry about keeping him motivated. Introduced him to this site and Shonen (he's currently playing Testament) and I think he should be hooked. Two other fellers I've gotten into Guilty Gear, but have yet to really teach them much in-depth stuff. Don't think they play much either. Bummer. I need more competition.
