  1. if youre getting DPd all the time your problem is your pressure not your mixup
  2. its harder to do mixup on someone when they DP
  3. Dash Tsubaki is also closer to the ground when you do it.
  4. - Don't use 2B Enma as a blockstring. Probably going for a hitconfirm. - Don't use 5C Zan as a blockstring. If the opponent is paying attention it's pretty much the easiest mixup ever to block, and you just blew 3 stars. After blocking 5C all they have to do is block low and look for that extremely obvious animation. Worse they might just reversal you on the spot. I mean I've hit people with it before out of desperation now and then but I chalk that up to netplay rather than a legit tactic. - Get more comfortable with throw range. You hopped up and whiffed throw a few times. - Don't use 2A 3C as a blockstring. Nobody with any sense is going to mash anything after a blocked 2A that 3C would beat because they'd expect another 2A or 2B to beat them anyway. - 4C is pretty terrible VS Noel. She can IAD over it or dash under and beat it with normals. Unless maybe it is better now because it got faster... - It's funny seeing everybody doing throw mixup now. - Hit confirm those 2Bs. You got a ton of CH 2Bs and just went into a 5A to whiff. - If Noel is just blatantly 2Ding you over and over then don't be afraid to 5D it or Yukikaze it. It's like Ragna and Blood Scythe.
  5. This thread isn't for posting streams of you and your friends. Post moved.
  6. What combo would you do after jB though?
  7. Can you stream EX on the ps4? Like a Twitch stream.
  8. You mean ever since BB was released, lol.
  9. Literally all of those games also have chip damage except Smash.
  10. Also there's no "fundamental fighting game design" anyway. Every FG has its own mechanics and own approach based on what the game designers want to promote in the game. So just because it does it one way over another doesn't automatically mean it's wrong. You'd have to make some sort of argument about how the existence of the mechanic is unhealthy for the game and how it would be better off without it.
  11. You're arguing about a game design decision. "Blocking is meant to prevent damage." If you're going to argue for some sort of system change then your reasoning has to make sense. There's like 50 things that are already similar to it though so it doesn't. All of these mechanics are designed to discourage simply blocking forever, and to encourage you to try and attack out or use some other means to defend yourself. For instance, Guard Primers from Continuum Shift. It works the exact same way. If you block some normal attacks, you lose Guard Primers and get guard crushed. You are punished for blocking, and have to use barrier or stop them from hitting you. So you see, your problem with chip damage is wrong because you're being inconsistent, unless you are also against all of those other things. But in that case it's just absurd because you're rejecting like half of the game.
  12. Huh... my guess is that because they reduced 3C's hitstun, they recover faster and that makes the 2B come out later into their roll.
  13. Wait hop forward 2B still catches a forward roll? Usually I have to back up a bit to catch forward rolls. I must be timing it wrong.
  14. You're not supposed to block it. That's the point.
  15. Do you think Crush Trigger also defeats the purpose of it? Basically you'd have to be against that too by that logic.
  16. Exactly. So why is it a problem if there's one more way for it to be vulnerable?
  17. Because you're arbitrarily deciding that blocking out of every other mechanic should be bulletproof.
  18. That's the point of Amane though. Normal blocking against his drills is a mistake in the first place. Some characters punish you harder than others for turtling up and letting them run their game on you. It's like Mu, you have to stop him from setting stuff up. It's just a different matchup.
  19. He was probably talking about charged Shippu unblockable. Nobody flew off the handle, they're just criticizing your position. Anyway, I don't understand why you're singling out blocking as the one mechanic that should be infallible. It already isn't; chip damage is in the game. So you're saying there shouldn't be chip damage in BB period? Going back to what you said about Yukikaze though. To get chipped by Amane, or chipped in general, still depends on your choices. You have to choose not to barrier. You have to have played to put yourself in that position. It's like getting put in Gadget Finger mixup by Tager. He can just 360 the shit out of you but that doesn't mean it's not legitimate, because you wouldn't be there if you didn't already fuck up. It's the entire point of the character, to go through some hardships to put you in an advantageous situation. Like Arakune and curse.
  20. Is there a way to stop rolling out that doesn't also give up oki? Usually when you do anti-roll stuff you have to just hard commit to the roll read and give up oki if they neutral tech. But if you go in for oki, you free them to roll.
  21. Because it's not any different than a grab beating block. The fundamental mechanics aren't there to be some absolute unstoppable tool, they're just there to give you outs in different situations. You can't always count blocking low to save you from attacks either. Same for Counter Assaults whiffing or getting baited, or bursts getting baited, or backdashes getting punished, or jumps getting punished. Blocking is just another move with its own pros and cons.
  22. So basically Rachel requires more precision but Izayoi is DDR.
  23. I was familiar with the input issues, but not with how they fixed it. I figured they just improved the way it read the input somehow. But from what you're saying it's exactly the same exact you have to manually shove a 4 input in there.
  24. What do you mean, back to negate DP input? You mean that if you pushed back it would negate a DP input in 1.1, but not older versions of BB?
