  1. Get on Blade's 360 and use his stick. PROFIT
  2. How is he the Black Beast? Well, originally in CT I thought that his destiny as the Destroyer was BECAUSE he was the Black Beast, not that they were two separate, unrelated things.
  3. Man, all that "source of all evil" and "Dark One" stuff made more sense when I thought he was the reincarnated Black Beast. Instead of just some dude who wears it's corpse as an arm.
  4. Also: > Matchup nominations will be accepted until 8pm, March 23rd. The matchups that can be voted on will be revealed during Hit-Confirm Live on March 23rd, as well as All-Out Thursdays, both found HERE > March 23 Are you sure you don't mean May.
  5. She is probably in love with the Power of Order. That was why she liked the NOL.
  6. How do you always get the final lines of the sketch so clean?
  7. That is why I always liked Haku mirrors. You have finally SEEN THE LIGHT.
  8. Hmm... Well, I can do the IAD followup after midscreen Tsubaki, so there's that. I always felt like the random with Haku thing is just because they don't main him. The thing with counters is, sometimes there are situations where they are the only way you can keep your advantage. Like Ragna's wakeup, he has 50 heat, I KNOW he is going to wakeup and do Inferno Divider probably, so rather than block it and let him RC it I just counter it and throw him back into the corner. You should get on BB again.
  9. Jin 6B is like made to fuck with Hakumen.
  10. > mAc > strong execution No way man. My execution is terrible. At least unless I have been practicing but I pretty much always just go in cold. Wait you've been playing dioxide? I need to play her then. Ctrl has very strong execution too. lol, "Hotaru your nuts into inescapable corner pressure." I probably use Zanshin more than anyone although the results depends. Against Toan and Gold Champion the other day I was doing it on THEIR wakeup and catching moves, or just doing it in the middle of my pressure and catching things. I love it. It's the best feeling. I feel like Sans and you use Zanshin the most textbook, safe way though.
  11. That can only end in tears.
  12. > StayFree broke his xbox. Wut. Did he just smash it with a sledgehammer or something.
  13. > Going by this, a lot could be considered pressure, which is what my point was. Yeah I feel like that is too broad since pretty much everything is pressure at that point. Plus the most basic thing, blockstun, is at least measurable. Yes, 2AAAA would be easy to block, but that's only if the character had literally nothing but that move. If that keeps them in blockstun and then creates opportunities to use mixup and other kinds of blockstrings then it's pretty good.
  14. For me, it's more like... the defensive patient style is the foundation, or the fallback position, but when I really get a grasp of the matchup or the other player it frees me to take a more aggressive stance, the real style. Although some characters like Tager still force you to play defensively. But there's a difference between just hanging back and waiting for them, and a kind of aggressive defense that is always pushing forward, always waiting and pressing for the tiniest crack to open so you can spill in like a tidal wave and crush them. Let's see, we left out Sophisticat, Blade and Sans, although I have only played the latter two. I have not seen WallJumpMan play other Hakus either. Maybe he has 360. :V Blade and Sans are generally well balanced although it's been a while since I played them so it's hard to remember a specific thing. Plus they play differently VS me. Oh and there's Skeletal Minion too.
  15. It always feels weird when people say I'm the most aggressive Hakumen because I'm so used to people always saying I was the most patient and defensive one. That was ages ago though.
  16. Well, it depends how you define mixup. I mean, anything can hit them if they are just not blocking. Zoning, neutral, etc. So dealing damage is not necessarily the thing that defines it. If you are putting them in pressure and something hits them because you did a frame trap, that could be put down under a form of mixup. Or maybe they just tried to up back out of the pressure and got hit, but that's just a matter of how strong the pressure is at keeping them locked down. If it happens to hit them it merely enforces that next time they should be blocking. That's just what I think though.
  17. The way I always thought of pressure was basically locking the opponent down so you can try and do other things to them, like mixup. I think that's how most people use it too. Our definition shouldn't be that far off from the way people normally use it since the whole point is to make what people think of intuitively when using the term into something explicit. Mash's idea that you want to have some mental stress on the opponent is also good but that is more like something extra you want to apply, using varying tactics. In other words, you make the opponent make a mistake by locking them down with pressure, then using baits, mixup, frame traps and other things to make them desperate to get out. Or you just hit them. For instance, Hakumen's pressure isn't that good, but his mixup is good if he can lock you down for a short time to apply it, which is what causes peopel to want to get out. It's not the pressure itself that is that good, it's the threat of Tsubaki and such.
  18. That's not pressure, it's zoning. Just because it puts you in blockstun and can damage you doesn't mean it's pressure. Would you say a Sagat Tiger Shot barrage keeping you out is pressure?
  19. Mixup is where you open up the opponent's defense. Pressure is placing them in a situation to enable mixup.
  20. There's a slight difference in speed between the consoles game wise too. I think 360 is like 2 frames faster or something.
  21. Well I'm in PA and VA, that isn't that far from NY and our connection is fine.
  22. > (Being in a crouching state adds two frames of hitstun as well, and this stacks with FC.) For crouching is that 2 frames to every move or just 2 frames up front?
  23. Lots of people use wireless on PS3.
