  1. In the time it took to complete that combo, I took a nap and came back.
  2. Nah f that, don't let anyone butthurt over a post chase you off. Just let them deal with it. People get their back up when you usually try to give them advice. I just let them figure it out on their own unless they ask. But if it's just a matter of discussing game mechanics and such there shouldn't be an issue. If there is a good point to make, it is good whether or not the other person cares to acknowledge it. You also shouldn't expect anyone to automatically agree or anything; if it can be argued it probably will be. Everyone can still benefit from the discussion.
  3. At that point Haku might as well just start combo'ing himself when I hit D.
  4. Yeah, if you're just too far away the counter will whiff.
  5. It doesn't matter if it had infinity active frames, the counter is invincible until you can block again. I've definitely seen people dodge counters before but I forget the circumstances. But that still would not let them punish you.
  6. What I'm getting is: Ragna 5Bs into my 5D, he gets locked up in hitstun and gets grabbed before he can do anything, even when I am inputting the Inferno Divider. Just try 5Ding an Inferno Divider by itself. It will go through your entire move and then you are free to punish him.
  7. OK so, I can't even get Ragna to do the Inferno Divider. He just gets grabbed by 5D instantly. I've definitely had Ragnas escape the counter before, but I think it might have been off of air moves that they continued to jump cancel. lol can't even get him to do that either, maybe i was imagining things.
  8. If that was true, then if you 5D'd Nu's sword super, you would just get hit out of the recovery, right? But instead you can block. So it must be something else. I'll check out what is going on in training mode. You probably tried to do a followup or something and ended up getting hit by the rest of the attack.
  9. If you land the catch, then everything that follows is invincible. You must be getting hit by something else... or something.
  10. Eh. I'd still rather have the extra stars. :P mAc Jewos
  11. ^Yeah. Well, that and you add in 6C and j.2C > 5C > 2C instead of the usual loop. 5C > Renka (1) > Kishuu > 2C > Hotaru > falling j.2C > 5C > 2C > sj.2A > falling j.2C > 2C > sj.2A > falling j.2C > 2C > sj.2A > sj.2A > IAD sj.2A > j.C > 5C > 3C Oh I see Ctrl just posted it. Wait no it's a little different.
  12. I actually end up a lot of the times with 8 stars before I have even touched the opponent so they will have full health. Slow matchups like Hazama Lambda and Tager which is what I mostly play. But I just found a 5 star combo that does 7.5k, so that is definitely worth it.
  13. That's true sometimes, but not always. I guess I am just saying it's better to play it safe since, let's say it doesn't kill them. (I mean if it is going to kill them then you should just do whatever would kill them, shouldn't really be a choice.) If you only did a 3 star combo, you have enough stars to do another round of mixup and finish them off. But if you blew all your stars, you have 0 and now they have a chance to make a comeback. If you're just doing it because it looks cool and stuff though then it doesn't really matter, just go for it. If you can do something cool and make it work anyway it's just a bonus.
  14. Ah yes, the power of swag. I can respect that. Half of what I do now is for style points anyway. :P Dodge Spark Bolt ~> nope, gonna counter it instead.
  15. It's not that the combo itself is bad, but that you can use the stars more efficiently if you use the same amount for two combos rather than one. The way Haku's combos work, you have a burst of damage up front and then it dwindles the more stars you add.
  16. Well that isn't bad. I generally like to stick to cheaper combos because you get more return for the first stars than the later ones you tack on. A 3 star combo in the corner usually gives you around 5k. The first 5k damage is about 1.6k per star, and then the next 2 stars give you about .8k a star. So I'd rather just do 2 combos that do 10k total for the same amount of stars (since you'll have gained an extra star by the time the first combo is over) rather than the one combo for 6.6k. Plus you can save it for extra mixup or whatever else you need. Why do you like to use the more star heavy versions?
  17. 5 star combo. How much damage does it do. They are never enough to be worth it. Probably 6k. Also that doesn't seem like it would be a corner combo since the Hotaru wallbounce is less when you are right up against the wall. Not enough time to charge 4C. I saw a Charge 4C off Hotaru in a video just now. Gonna have to try some out.
  18. That was the one I thought it was. Which one is it then. I do that against Tager and some others (CS1/2 Makoto) if I am worried about them getting close. No need to do their job for them. Make them fight all the way through again.
  19. Charge 4C is basically a troll move at this point. Except you troll yourself. Why not just always use Tsubaki instead of Zantetsu. I guess you can combo off it easier midscreen... Defensive play is Haku's core style, but I feel like you are giving away half the game too easily if you just default to defense. If you go on offense first then you put them on defense, you make THEM hesitate, you get the momentum, you make them have to fight through an extra level of defense basically, before they can even try to get in on you. But it is kind of like trying to rush down Tager if you are a zoner. You have to go against type and swim against the current, but that just makes it a good skill to have.
  20. It's called D-fense for a reason.
  21. Wouldn't DPing out of the counter just leave you vulnerable to a DP punish. When Ragnas do that to me I have all the time in the world to hit them on their way down. Also if you get hit by max charge 4C then something went terribly wrong. :P If you are Lambda you can just D him out of it on reaction. Maybe I should play more defensively against badlime now. 6D just has different timing than the other counters so it happens to catch a lot of moves after their invincibility is over. I do that with 5D a lot too when I want to bait a DP but don't want to let them RC if it works. Also don't give up on trying to get in their face psyco. They are probably just not respecting your pressure enough. Granted you never really have to against Hakumen, but you can condition them if you play right. There are some players and some characters though who will never respect, in which case you can fall back onto defense or Hotaru them in the face.
  22. I have some success being aggressive. Depends how aggressive and controlling you mean though. Not gonna be Ragna.
  23. machine gun unleashed
  24. Yeah, they are just focusing on that kind of stuff to make them easy money rather than making a full fledged game half the time with the popularity of smart phone type games. I mean, it makes sense. Why pour all this effort into making some huge RPG when you can just make Angry Birds and get rich. This comic is me:
  25. But what if they actually were. :P I didn't even realize that the Wii U was a separate system until my friend showed it to me. It sounds like an add on or something. Isn't it just a tablet that is a controller or something. I could see some interesting ways to use that, but then again there could have been amazing ways to use the Wiimote and such and there never really was anything done. The one system I do like is the 3DS. I always ignored handhelds, but now with nothing else to look at, it's like a blast in the past since you can play all these DS games that are similar to older classics, plus anything new that comes out. And every now and then there ARE good games, like BlazBlue. I just haven't seen anything that excites me the way they used to since forever.
