I read from somewhere that that was a reason, which gave me the impression that they had a stake in both series somewhere. I gotta stop assuming people know what they're talking about when it comes to fighting games which I never do in any other subject. :/ Anywho, I always respected VF but never really felt the urge to play the games. been thinking 'bout playing the game till the 5r bullshit happened. If this gets ported, I'll give it a try.

IIRC, for the game to work, you needed connection to sega's/whoever's site, which is japan exclusive because Sega is just that ass backwards, and that's why buying a kit wouldn't work. So, one would need to somehow obtain a board, the kit/software, and either fool the site into thinking your from japan, or fool the software's security, at which point it would be possible to play the game. However, this is besides the point, point being that Sega is a company in the business of selling video games that is seemingly doing everything within their power to prevent would be customers from buying a game they're trying to sell. It would make sense having Sega end the franchise here. What with Tekken likely being much more profitable for them and their fear of VF taking success away from Tekken.

True, but them not even making a console port for Japan like a lot of companies on top of what they did with the arcade version so people outside of Japan can't even play the game period if they wanted to without a lot of cash and technical knowledge is throwing me off and making me think that Sega would really do something like wait two years, skip a version, and port the latest version.

What would that similarity be? Also, all I do is pause at the frc point, get that image in my head, and practice hitting PKS or KSH for H specials when I see the animation. Note that that method doesn't work for every move through. Like, dizzy's sprite stays exactly the same the entire duration of 236H. I don't believe you can even use the dust it creates to help out. Not sure on that though.

@doragonkoroshi - Thank you. I'll upload the documents in one rar file (~34mb) on megaupload and edit the OP in I'm done with that. If anyone for whatever reason (shit computer, bandwidth caps) needs me to post the character folders separately or to a different uploader, just let me know. @feri - Thanks for the input. Till I get a job, I have a lot of free time to kill, so how long it'll take doesn't worry me. Being that all I'll be doing is stuff that GG newbies could do, and prettying up the good info into essay format, I don't think it'll be too much time. Worse case scenario, I'm thinking a day or so total time for each character. As for what should be in the guides, true, actual experience will serve players than the guides will be able to. In light of that, I'm think'in the guides should tell players how to practice smart and such. bnb/mixup/basic strategy, general pointers for match ups (i.e. stop venom from firing balls), an article on the importance of spacing, and that's about it. As for the match up stuff, I kinda figured that people will contribute what they know and that'll hopefully be enough. Thank you again for the input.

Hi, so on and off for the past 4-5 months now I have been digging through all of the character forums and the AC guides and cut 'n pasting any post that give info on the characters, not paying any mind to who said the post or the value of the posts content. I'm almost done with this, down to about three or so people left. Did I mention that I'm doing all of this by myself? Having waaaay too much free time and a ton of podcasts and music to listen to does that to ya. Anywho, the reason I've been doing this is because when I'm done getting all this info, I would like to make a sort of master guide for AC. It'll be a complete a guide for every character, listing BnB, matchups, FRC point descriptions, spacing stuff, pretty much everything you can think of. The problem with this is that I haven't been paying attention to the info I've been copying for a good reason: I'm not good enough to decide what's good or bad info! Now the FRC points, spacing stuff and stuff like that I can do by myself. Pretty sure you don't have to go to japan for a year to be able to hit the pause button when the input window flashs white or do moves and see if they hit people. However, stuff like separating good info from bad and match up info I don't have a chance of doing myself and doing the topics justice. So I guess what I would need would from *preferably* good players (i.e. Digital Watches, Hellmonkey, japanese players, etc.) or at least people who really know what they're talking about would be either to throw out their knowledge (preferably through pms) or shift through the info I've gathered and tell me what info is good/bad. I have the data and posts organized in what I believe to be obvious fashion, with character forum stuff organized by "GG strategies" -> "character name" -> "thread title".doc. For the threads, the rule of thumb is two spaces (single spaced) between paragraphs to separate posters and one space to separate paragraphs, quoted posts and stuff like that. That said, it's not a complete mess, but I suggest that you don't try reading through all the stuff in one sitting, that doesn't work out too well. As for who's good/knows enough to contribute, I'm just gonna go with the honor principle on this and ignore any obivous offenders. I'm definitely not interested in getting caught up with that drama. Anyone interested in helping me out with the guide, feel free to let me know and I'll upload the files onto megaupload or something. That said, I think that's all that I needed to say. I'm newbie tier so take my thoughts with a grain of salt, but for Eddie, why not make all of little eddie's attacks block any? Pretty sure that this will kill all of his unblockables and he can mix-up through his normals and such? That's the only thing that comes to mind at the moment. -

Well, it doesn't have to be full on mastery of time stuff. I'm thinking something basic and initial like going a couple seconds into the past or something and it wouldn't have to be that move exactly. Also, I doubt that anyone here knows what Daisuke is going to do for X3 story-wise, so that's a wild card to. Also, total BS and nonsensical idea: it would be sick if Axl could get Mega-freeze from Prince of Persia: SoT.

In an attempt bring this topic back on topic, more stuff I was thinking about. 1) Bring back free 632 D. Not sure what the best way to balance it would be though. Yes, that deserves another mention. 2) Change Axl's poke animations so that it makes sense why you can damage Axl by hitting the chains. 3) This one's probably the most likely to actually happen. Since Axl will apparently gain the ability to control his time slips at some point, perhaps start to have Axl's gameplay take this into account in the next installment. Like off the top of my head, a new forcebreak where Axl timeslips to behind the opponent and hits them. And for the love of goodness, lets not try to logically justify why Axl would choose to timeslip to the present and not to before the fight began.

Just wanted to say good matches to everyone who played, especially Honnou. You made the Eddie match up and finals sooo hype. Congrats for winning. Finally, thanks for the stream. You guys made being showed in not suck.

At the time of my post, I was thinking added block stun. However, after Stark's post, I think the least retarded way of making a blocksafe HCS work would be to make it work like Ensenga, except without the need to RC it to not die. I'm thinking having Axl fall a frame or two after the active frames (probably would require a change to the animation to make it look right) and at normal speed. Of course, the FRC would have to go and maybe reduce the hitstun or have the opponent float higher/longer to balance the move out. EDIT: How about a ransenish move that hits the opponent's midair in the back?

I never noticed that. Well, in my defense, I've always been focused on the gameplay and it just never crossed my mind to notice such things. It's like how you never notice all the panty shots in DOA despite being right in your face while you're playing against people. @EternalLurker - it's been over a year since I paid attention to GG story, so I'll just take your word for it Gamefaqs, here we come. EDIT: If it's not too much to ask, could you guys record the next ranbat? I'm getting in the habit of collect high level GG match vids and I would like to add you guys matches to my collection.

Well, there won't be much to discuss on topic till the next stream so there. Anywho, I was thinking more litchi/retarded big sized territory, though I'd rather not start a discussion about breasts/make this place more like gamefaqs so I'll just leave it at that.
