Brandi/Zreb/Boombox/Oso/Ronin/Etc: Probably gonna have meetups at my place on saturday the 11th and 18th. Probably not 25th though.

Meetup was fairly fun, but messy as fuck. A bit of a lesson for next time, I guess. Long story short: Had a ps3, but the ps3 guy didn't have a copy of blazblue cs. Then we had a ps2 for guilty gear..but the guilty gear owner had no ps2 controllers. he's still a cooldude though So we had 6 people on one setup. Regardless, it was fun. Oso is a good Carl and I want to learn that matchup through him, and we had an hour of unlimited shenanigans. Next time will run much smoother since we have learned how to not fuck up a meetup. Looking forward to a 360 setup with me, oso, and zreb. Next meetup should be next saturday, probably. Liked the feel of the hori stick Brandi had. Didn't work with the converter though. Guess it's just ps2 horis that work with it. More importantly, just need to play her and get used to "ok, wanna use 5c here" "ok, now for steins" etc. Not like bang..not constantly looking for a way in. Not like lamda, not just zoning. Got my second converter for ps2/3 -> 360. Woo. You'll probably be playing on your Hori if that works with the converter, Brandi. Worst case though is us using zreb's ps3 and me playing either ps3 pad or a stick..I'll probably go for stick so I don't accidentally jump so fucking much :1

Ahh, that's right, the Hori I was looking at is wireless. Not sure if my converter will support wireless or not, let alone without lag. I guess we will find out this weekend.

oh cool i will wait till you come before buying a stick since a ps3 hori is the same price and works with my converter (though i hear horis arent that great in some aspects though i don't really knowwww) How similar is it to your sanwa stick, feel-wise? Only reason I desire a PS2 stick is so that I can easily get good converters for PS3, and so it works with my ps2 -> 360 converter. Don't actually have my PS2 with me :P

Oooh, only $50.. I've also been hesitant to get a stick since..well, not sure if the one I'd buy would be one I like. IIRC I liked the stick on Brandi's(Or was it bamf's?) and felt I could adjust to it fairly easily but also benefit. But I don't really like the stick on Ronin's, felt too..loose? I dunno. Any comments on that? urghhh i'm terrible with that sort of thing though. really want to avoid that, especially if it requires soldering. also, my ps2->360 converter is lagless, and I just found a pelican converter I could buy for $25.

Hoping we get oso/boombox/others though..because otherwise it'd be messy, since I can't play on ps3, I may not have my second converter by then, and even if I did it probably doesn't work with Brandi's stick so she'd likely have to use a ps3 pad which would be muh. I need to get a ps2 stick and a ps2->ps3 converter(which there appear to be plenty of)

My ps2/ps3->360 converter doesn't work with ps3 madcatz sticks I think(works with hori ones tho i think), so you or zreb should bring a ps3, unless someone has spare 360 sticks or something.

Anyway, Ronin/Cheebz play GG, and they said some others in Denton/Arlington do too but I haven't heard from them. Alvin has Vanguard Princess/the Touhou fighter. I'm rather interested in NGBC but I think i'll just stick to Bang and Mu in Blazblue so I don't bite off more than I can chew while in college. So without Alvin you/I won't be able to do much since you won't have CS till november. :1 ps brandi if you ever play tsubaki much(especially online) and encounter 5a mashers trying to catch your charge cancels, delaying the followup to 5b, 2b, 5c creates frametraps. Second hit of 5cc CH 6c leaks to 3k without install/meter, but you can't hit confirm it, so you should be expecting them to mash and just be ready to gatling to it quickly without trying to confirm. 6c is jump cancellable anyway.(into tk 236c for quickly getting back on the ground too...though jcc is always nice) Can't say a lot about people good at escaping with DP though, except that 2d CCing is quick enough that you can block safely after it, so that's one way to punish them for mashing dp. Jump cancel blocking works too, obv. Against lesser DPs, j236b might clash or work since it has some sort of invinc, but I wouldn't try it again ragna, his will either clash(his favor) or outright win. Gonna find out if I'll still have that saturday meet today. Not sure about the size of an assignment.
