So..discussion..which is what everyone is doing. New character announced. .and there was alot of speculation. .its bridget it's so and so..there was no fact to who the char was...except johnny. Along w people's thoughts about other stuff. Still all opinion based w no facts behinds it..news yes.still no facts. Discussion..which we are all doing a out different things pertaining to the game. Minus some off beats of course. Shits gonna happen. It will turn back tho..just my opinion

This isn't CNN. Make another thread for speculation and opinion. This is a NEWS and DISCUSSION thread; both of those words are defined by factual information. I had to read through 3 pages of unnecessary posts before I finally found one tiny post about Famitsu posting up high-resolution images and someone talking about the new burst mechanic.

Can you, really? A few ODs have start-up after the super-flash, so you can't actually confirm whether you're going to hit or not unless the opponent is in the middle of something stupid.

 

Well, as I understand it, you can spend the burst during the super-flash to increase damage. I play I-No, and over 9 times out of 10 I can tell whether someone is going to get hit when I use her ground overdrive as a reversal because I can see what they are doing during the few startup frames before the super-flash. That's how I think it's possible to hit-confirm that before it even happens.

I was talking to some people and the Famitsu article (supposedly) says that it's only for the specials with the anime cut-ins. This also makes sense since it wouldn't really work for things such as DI. That being said, I can see it having a lot of raw potential damage output but it'd be most effective to use as a combo ender for the guaranteed confirm. Will these get new special animations if you burst during it? Hella anime shit?

There's no footage of anything yet because the location tests haven't started.

If this new character is an android/cyborg, I might pick up GG again to give her a whirl.  Otherwise I'll wait for Dizzy.

I am kinda wondering how being a cyborg does affect the character playability for you!

Is it some kind of fetish ?

 

I like female robot characters (though not all of them) as they usually have interesting playstyles and abilities.  I just like weird characters in general.  They also provide eye candy while I play them, which keeps me interested in mastering said character.

Burst Overdrives (that's what they're called) are performed by inputting the Overdrive's command plus D instead of their normal button. Not every Overdrive has a burst version.

I wonder if they will be smart enough to release tomorrow a trailer or just a short gameplay video for the new characters. Or maybe they want people to see them for the first time in potato quality on youtube.

That was how we saw all of Xrd for the first time, minus Sol and Ky.  Our first glimpse of Bedman was through the lens of a potato.  Mashed or baked?

 

You know, I don't think I've ever truly understood why ASW (and others) don't stream or show off the loke-test footage. I mean, I understand the need to protect your property but why go this far on an (then) unfinished project? I always thought it'd be a cool idea for them to show off a newly introduced character at a loke-test then do an "official" showcase featuring the process of how the character evolved from the loke-test to final. But that's just me.

 

Either way it shouldn't matter. We're going to get loke-test footage somewhere. ASW has yet to fully prevent one of their loke-tests from being leaked though I have no doubt in my mind they will try. But enough about all that: GET HYPE SON!

What I noticed.

 

* woah woah woah WHAT WHY ARE THEIR BURST ICONS BLUE? I doubt it's just an aesthetic change as in some of the screenshots, one character's Burst icon is the original orange color while the other's Burst icon is blue. Wonder what this means exactly?

 

*  Throw techs indeed DO seem to be a thing, as evidenced by the screenshot of Sol and Ky backing off from each other while a green flash appears.

 

* Looks like Homing Dash now has an animation just like Homing Jump after a Dust.

Johnny's second OD is called Treasure Hunt, probably a new one.

There is now a cinematic if you press forward after landing a Dust, just like when you press up.

Also, the Blitz Shield counter-attack is a special move that is performed by pressing HS after shielding an attack. You can see Sol's, which doesn't look like anything he had before.

...Did Potemkin just lose 6P? I hope they just didn't list all the command normals.
