Kyle Posted April 22, 2011 Author Posted April 22, 2011 I'm probably not playing Carl in CS2... This is just stupid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5m4mqtiHQ4&feature=player_embedded
Aksiot Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 (edited) Holy nuts. So I moved to Florida, was doing pretty good with carl until Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (formerly known as: Derp City) came out. THEN I started training for an mma tournament and getting laid on a consistent basis. This is all fine and dandy, however I am returning home for a short vacation and therefore have to face my bb rival. (old roommate/arakune player) and I'm terrified that my skills have rounded out. I'm looking to all of the wonderful vids and comments for help but anyone have any tips for clearing combo cobwebs with carl? I can barely break 2k damage combos these days ): [Edit] Also, is it just me or does CSII Carl look like faceroll city compared to CS carl? xD Edited April 22, 2011 by Aksiot
JG Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 I'm probably not playing Carl in CS2... This is just stupid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5m4mqtiHQ4&feature=player_embedded Dont say that Kyle. Without the Loop Carl in Cs2 will be a bad char. Don“t get my wrong, Carl dosnt need the loop in CS2, but his problem is nirvana gauge. It too short, if it wasnt for that issue thing like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpIG_ArVsiQ will be very reliable
JG Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 this is CT carl again...and i like it. Go and play with your Lichi or Hazama!! tier whore XD
Diveman Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 that reminds me of GGAC May, where she had tons of combo posibilities and all of them were dumped because of her loop. Not sure if this is gonna be the case of CS2 Carl though
Kyle Posted May 12, 2011 Author Posted May 12, 2011 BBCS2 reference vids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5m4mqtiHQ4&feature=player_embedded http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLxdL4GDqNs
Gimpt Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 BBCS2 reference vids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLxdL4GDqNs I haven't played in so long. I don't know if I'll be able to do any of those. >__<
Marisa Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 that reminds me of GGAC May, where she had tons of combo posibilities and all of them were dumped because of her loop. Not sure if this is gonna be the case of CS2 Carl though Seems very likely. Loop is high damage, DP safe, generates good heat, and it's not exactly hard to do. Unless someone finds something better than that, it's going to be a repeat of May.
Mascarpone Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 the only really hard part about those set ups is the j.B3]D[ input. it's awkward to get used to.... the rest is pretty easy.
Marisa Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Since he has no j.2B you can hold 3 before/during B and still get j.5B. It's still awkward at first since Carl hadn't done anything like it previously but once you get over that the whole thing becomes fairly easy (and really boring both to watch and to perform in my opinion)
JG Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Seems very likely. Loop is high damage, DP safe, generates good heat, and it's not exactly hard to do. Unless someone finds something better than that, it's going to be a repeat of May. Mmm.. I still belive that with Carl one must learn at least 1 or 2 good dmg combos that dosnt involve the loop. At least from my testing i manage to do a 4k no metter combo with Carl, using volante combo and 4]D[ combo. I uploaded a clip of that sometime ago if you wanna check it ^^. the only really hard part about those set ups is the j.B3]D[ input. it's awkward to get used to.... the rest is pretty easy. In my case i didnt have to much problme with that setup, i didnt feel it hard or complex. Is just a mmater to get used to.
Mascarpone Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 yeah it's not complex it's just awkward. In my case i have a tendency to hold directions for an extended period so the 3 from the 3D often leads over into the j.c making it a j.2C and boning up the combo. or the 3 will be a 6 instead and Ada-punch inst exactly beneficial for knocking people into. I'm getting better at it tho. slowly.
