One interesting thing I found, if you do the early RC of the throw, then do the running super, it does about 300 more damage than it normally would. Not really that useful since you can combo into the super with more damage, but interesting. Also, RCing a grab into a command grab is just hilarious. On a different note, has anyone tried replacing last hits of aerial combos with the command grab? I realize its fairly easy to react to once you're thinking about it, but the fact that throws don't prorate makes the damage amazing... Thanks, and yeah it does hella, like in the combo I posted if you do the 6c into jump+B xx command grab shit does more that a super follow up like 5000 or something. Its worth it sometimes since all you get ending it normally is the poison.
Timotee Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Yeah, I imagine once in a great while it'd be worth losing the last hit and poison chance. I've been trying out other places to do it. One I'm currently considering is doing the 5a 5b 2b 2c 6d 623b bnb combo in the corner, then when they wallbounce doing a jab, followed by a tk'd command grab. There's time to tech out, but if you're doing the combo consistently and letting them land on the ground for a mixup, you might be able to score the extra damage. Or you could do a jab and try chasing their tech and get the command grab that way. One easy place to put it into a combo legit is off the usual 2d j.d 2b 6c jc j.b j.c. If you are far enough below the person when the j.c connects, the grab will work. Requires a bit of a delay for the j.b to get it working. I'd imagine people will be used to getting poisoned and may not react fast enough to avoid you getting 2k extra damage.

I was doing that in training mode rather than starting with a CH 2D for the longest time. Super Jumping is also how you can hit non-CH 2D into j.D on Tager and Taokaka.

I assume its basically the same combo? and are you jump canceling the j.D directly into the shuriken? I assumed it may work on some people it just wasn't working on noel probably cause she is small.

Noel's drives are annoying for beginners, sure, but they are all unsafe when you end so just figure out how to block it appropriately and when it ends, do a bread n butter. Also I feel the title should be changed to "How to be an hero" since I can't NOT read it like that

The thing that was getting me what 5a always whiffed. One more question tho just wondering how u guys pull the 623b after 6d the only way i can make it come out somewhat on the regular is first hitting 8 then 623b i have seen it written 9623b(this always just makes me tiger knee a nail) or 6239b which isn't working either....and what do u mostly follow up with after the 623b hits??.

I was tinkering with it (on top of trying it out on the cast), and I found it's easier to hit if you do a very slight dashing 2D instead of 5D, as 2D pops them straight up. Using 2D instead of 5D lets it hit Litchi as well, which was the only other character I could find that gets hit by said combo. CH 2D jc j.D dj.236C, dashing 2D sjc j.D. How hot is that?

But I was working with it in training and found: 5A 2A 5B 2B 2C 6D = 1883 5A 5B 2B 2C 6D = 2004 I can nail the second combo almost 95%, and the first less than half the time, is there any reason to continue practicing with the low A?

I'm usually at a distance where the only thing that won't be blocked is slide, and that often isn't worth either wasting barrier or risking the high/low mixup. same with Jin's surfboard into strong or the mashy sword, the window is there, but I'm just not sure what to do.

If you're blocking the surfboard, if he's doing a slash afterward, punish with a 5a and combo from there. If you're blocking the mashy sword, mash 2D and you'll get the autoguard, a teleport and BAM! Noel's drive recovery I'm still working on to an extent. To be honest, I usually end up hitting them in the middle of it or getting mixed up

I'm still iffy on when she has her invincibility frames during it, and it seems like every time I do try and toss a combo out my arm just goes straight through her and I get caught in a combo. Thanks DaiAndOh for how to punish the ride the ice attack, I've been clueless on it. Tried every way I could think of with D, but he always just goes straight under him.

Can you actually IB in the middle of getting hit by it and 2D->teleport out that way? [edit]JinSaotome: I'm working on the same thing. Practice practice practice is all I can say. It is possible to firepunch before they can tech, I've gotten it off a few times. But, like you, most of the time I end up with a sj or a shuriken. :P[/edit]

When the 6D connects let go of 9 and do 623B. Also when you press B, hold it down. This is because if you hold the button down the game repeats the imput for 5 frames. Hopefully this helps.
