guard low and react to the overhead? and i guess be ready to break a mixup throw. nothing special really. fighting bang is boring as fuck imo.

Seems like he has too many options versus Haku once he gets a knockdown. Especially since Haku doesn't have a reliable wake-up move. I really don't like guessing if he's going to command throw or 5C/2A every time I'm down. Seems I lose a good chunk of health every time I get grounded. Other than that, I thinking I just have to fine tune my other short-comings in this match.

i say delay your tech. i havent' been hit out of tech yet, so if he's slightly stupid (i dunno maybe, haven't fought any good bangs) then he'll whiff the throw which has ridiculous recovery, or you'll see him poking low, where it'll be safe to wake-up counter, or ib catch

Delaying your tech is great against bang. He can't cover everything and if you actually manage a roll, he usually doesn't have the range necessary to punish both a forward and back roll at the same time. Ib 2b (the elbow), counter nails. If bang tries to reset pressure via nails you'll catch him. You can also practice ib'ing 5b and countering 2b. If he tries for the j.4c crossup, either 6a or 5d it. Basically just make bang afraid to swing and you'll have a lot more opportunities to escape. Just don't get too crazy with all the counters and the 6a/6b's, because bang does have answers to each of them.

I've begun to think Barrier is actually useful against his pressure if even just a little bit for breathing room. That, and using moves that jump cancel easily after a poke to bait and punish his D moves. Using 2 hit combinations seems to work against them as well. Also during actual strings, his combos don't leave much room for D...but 6D can actually work after IB though it doesn't yield stars.

What are they attacks that Bang can punish with his burning heart drive? I know j,2c is hard for him to punish since I've been able to block in a number of circumstances but what else is absolutely punishable and unpunishable.

I suggest you guys learn how to counter drive. 2D can be countered by your 2D, 5D is great against Bang's cross up since there's enough time to active it. 2D can also stop his combos if you time it right, lets say they cross you up, and then goes 5b to 2b, that's when you put in your counter. The timing is strict, but a friend of mine always catches me with that.

Arg, guys. What the hell can I do against Bang? It's hilarious: I'm great at rushing down and cornering Nu's and Rachel's and Arakunes (It's not that they're easy, it's just that I play against them so much I'm used to it), but once I run up against Bang I get completely wrecked. A lot of them do the same combos, too. But I just can't escape the pressure. Usually I escape one combo just to run into the next one. He always crosses me up with this one downward angled jump kick into a combo...

Don't try and 2d that 6d of his in his combo... Unless you have very very good timing. And 5d will take care of that cross up. Also if you want to completely mindfuck your bang opponent, try and drive counter his nails, usually Bang players will rush after they throw out their D nails. If you time it right, your D counter will grab him out of the air... and I should know.. I get caught by that occasionally. Your 6B will go through his 2D (the drive uppercut...), 6A also helps a bit.

Yeah, for some reason I have a hard time countering Bang's moves. I just thought of something though... I think the Counter Assault could actually come in handy here...

Your drives are way better than wasting 4 stars for a counter assault. Also, if you hit Bang while he's in the middle of his drive animation, doesn't matter which drive... He will teleport and punish you.

any time you think of using your ca, instant block into 5/6/2D instead.

Hey does bang have invincibility frames during his frkz mode dashes, I was fighting a bang this afternoon, And when i went for a slash as he was using the run away tactic that white circle thing appeared, the same once that does you try to strike at invincibility frames. If he does in fact have and it wasn't just some special situation, how much invincibility frames does he have. Also what do you guys believe to be the best tactic against frkz mode? The guy I was playing was very skilled and experienced and I managed to land some blows when he transformed, and nearly even took him out once or twice.
