Frodlex Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 As this friend. I only have a few things to say. A: In my opinion, Azrael shouldn't exist, but enough of that. B: Jarl takes me waaaay to seriously. It's funny. C: Why get good when I can complain about my friend using a cheap character and not have to worry about relearning Mr. Zama because everything changed... Too much... Why the Zama changes? I know he's buffed and all, but I would have been perfectly fine with CSX Hazama, that I could have actually done well.. I just don't grasp the new one. That and it's all different now and weird.

Myoro Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 As this friend. I only have a few things to say. A: In my opinion, Azrael shouldn't exist, but enough of that. Gorillas are nothing new to the world. Az wasn't the first to exist, and won't be the last one you face. Whether they should or should not exist doesn't matter; they do exist, and it's best to learn how to deal with them. B: Jarl takes me waaaay to seriously. It's funny. You could stand to take a page outta his book mate. I'd rather fight a good Azrael than a good Hazama any day. All that really changed about th' boy is he lost his loops and got better other stuff. You say you can't wrap your head around it, but really how much time have you put into trying? This sounds meaner than I mean it to be, so I apologize, but I've been in the same place many times and I know it'll eventually boil down to this: ether do the productive thing and study and apply your options with your character of choice and your options against Azrael, or continue uselessly complain that the world should change to better suit you until nobody, not even your friend, bothers to take you seriously. The choice is yours to make.
Henjin Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 What? His 50/50 is cheap? Tell him to stop holding that stick in the corner. And i am sure these things can be backed dashed if you just mash it out(not sure if that would anymore). But nah his double crossover is a different story. Sent from my 5560S using Tapatalk
pokemonblaze234 Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Okey, so learn Valk's wolf brake(it'sw super easy so it won't take that long), then chose Valk then do w5A>wbj.A/w5C on him until he ragequits and calls it unblockable
Airk Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Am I the only one who thinks that this whole conversation is actually basically wrong, because they've already mentioned that they're playing super laggy netplay and things are different in super laggy netplay? You could say "Well, don't do that." and you'd be right, but the fact is that they are...
Frodlex Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 You use Hazama and claim Azrael is cheap......I'm not even going there Moro: Basically none save the past day and a half, and man, this stance options are nice. Kinda digging the sure shot corner carry too. StylisH: Nah, I mained Terumi/ Amane in CP 1.1, never played 1.0 so there is that. On the rare occasion I did use Hazama I got totally demolished because I wasn't used using his pressure in the new game where all the timing is different now. Also combos.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 This topic is pretty lol worthy. If its you guys are playing laggy netplay then I don't blame him for thinking that shit is unblockable lol.
Frodlex Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 This topic is pretty lol worthy. If its you guys are playing laggy netplay then I don't blame him for thinking that shit is unblockable lol. It's laggy enough to matter. I mean I don't even have bad reaction time, but if I'm not blocking in the right way when he comes out there is really nothing I can do. It's just all around a bad time fighting him, because once he gets his a hit in If I don't guess correctly I'm losing 90% of my HP right there if he has the heat for it. And by this point he usually does. And probably in the corner to boot, leaving me in an insanely bad spot.
Myoro Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Well for fighting Az in general you'll want to IB what you can; it makes him a whole lot hazardous if you can do it consistently. Stuff like 2C>6/3D ain't safe, you can mash it or DP it chicken block it or whatever you want. A lot of the general advice for blocking still applies to the man, and a lot of the posts here have valuable nuggets of info on how to discern 3D from 6D. Still the best way to not get hit by Azrael is to not afford him the opportunity to mix you up. Hazama historically has a much more dominating neutral than Azrael which you can use to your advantage, although I don't think I've played the Haz vs Azrael MU a lot at all, so other people's advice can help there. Post any issues you have in a place like this and you'll usually get good ol' informative posts in a day or two. Other threads in the character forums are equally great to post in if not more so, if you detail any issues or questions there, you'll get the info you need and you'll be one step closer to a really solid player. I wish you the best of luck!
madigawadesperate Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 i was told blocking was cheap and that i was spamming block
gEasS_53 Posted July 4, 2015 Author Posted July 4, 2015 This topic is pretty lol worthy. If its you guys are playing laggy netplay then I don't blame him for thinking that shit is unblockable lol. When it's laggy enough to actually matter because there's no time to register the switch, I can't do combos properly because most of the damaging ones require at least basic timing, while he just wins half the time by mashing Terumi's 5A/2A/5B/2B into braindead 22C combos that work exactly as well in heavy lag. When there's just a slight, almost unnoticable lag, all that happens is that the 6D/3D is a few frames faster than usual. Most of the time though, what happens is that I get the upper sign somehow, then right after that I do a meaty 3D. Somehow it's always a CH(and then an easy 4k), even after using it many times, he still falls for it and there's no way that would connect even in heavy lag if he didn't just mess up. i was told blocking was cheap and that i was spamming block I think you just won the thread...
Blade Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Rule of thumb: if you can't block it, DODGE IT. Super Jump over it, use chicken blocking (Faultless Defense/Barrier aerial blocking), Dead Angles/Counterassaults... whatever you can to get out of the mess that is the random mixup. Training mode also helps. And yeah, if you feel like you're blocking too much, you gotta go on offense, but do it smart so it's not punishable. Blocking is meant to mitigate damage, not nullify it, you need to attack more and use barrier for openings.
Airk Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Too much serious discussion that they will never be able to utilize in laggy netplay...They probably have laggy monitors too.Everything is cheap when you are playing in 15 frames of delay. :P

Everything is cheap when you are playing in 15 frames of delay. :P I disagree. Sometimes having bad circumstances in no reason to not try, directly through fight and practice, and indirectly through better theory(part of which is community discussion). Why would you think I have a laggy monitor? Just because I'm half a planet away with only an average internet connection doesn't mean the hardware is bad. Also 15 frames delay is the mentioned "laggy enough to" amount, at which point it's just better to wait and pray to the internet gods for a better connection. Normally the lag is only slight(3-6). i was told blocking was cheap and that i was spamming block Sorry, but I still can't get over this one. Would you mind if I added it to my sig?

And what does your friend have? He's the one who's complaining.Even just having like 8 frames of lag is enough to move most stuff into the "I'm never going to block that" range because that's the difference between a godawful slow overhead and a godly fast overhead.

Soudabuki Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 I had a friend who thinks winning off grabs, lows, DPs, Astrals, command grabs, projectiles, almost anything he gets beaten by is considered "cheap" But when he DOES it, he says "it's fair." Characters he thinks that are cheap (when he's not using him/her): Every playable fighting game character ever in any game that he's not using.

Fair enough, no idea what he has. On the other hand, sadly, the TV in my living room is a nightmare to play on, so I'm pretty much restricted to my monitor.
