Loli Bacon Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I wanted to make people cry about my character choice, so I picked Kokonoe.
bakahyl Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I wanted to make people cry about my character choice, so I picked Kokonoe. Then you shouldn't cry if they are going to ban her at some tournaments then
MiFi0 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Got CP on release, straight away went into training mode and started to mess around with characters. Ended up falling in love with Terumi and his crazy always supers all the time play style. Then I went to my first local meetup for it, but since we were playing on the consoles of the arcade we were at none of the DLC characters were there, so I started to panic and picked the only character that I vaguely remembered from messing around with, Bullet. Stuck with her ever since, haven't even bothered with Terumi again.
Monarch Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I'll try and make this short, since I hate long text walls. Basically, I bought CT back in early 2012 for the platinum trophy. Was hype as shit to play Hakumen, but as I'm sure all the noobs figured out, he ain't as pretty to play as he looks. So unsurprisingly, I didn't have a main for that game. I just zoomed by for the platinum trophy. Fast forward a year later to the summer of 13, and I finally buy CS. I pick Tsubaki out of curiosity, and when I realized you could do her attacks multiple times in succession, I was sold. Dedicated 8 months into learning her, and haven't looked back since. I was never a hardcore fighting gamer before, but she turned me into one.
Liminal18 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Local play in calamity trigger in Thailand I did Rachel Allucsrd, but in CS extend for vita doing platinum the trinity lag issues with zones like Rachael make psn play harder. When CP hits for Vita might try Kokonoe provided the patched Kokonoe is not in bad form to play (have been watching streams of Cp ps3 via twitch and know she is op but just like the character so much) then again I am a noob so even with an op character you could probably still best me. Usually pick just by design and not play style.
Dazardz Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Amane's theme. How he skips, him walking back just fabulous. I love men who are. Last but not least, His legs when he dies no matter what its a win-win If you wanted a fine man, why is your main not Relius I ask? Kagura execution quite easy for me. (First game on PS3, so I had no idea how to do special commands on a PS3 pad.) Kagura was my character.
TheMadPuppeteer Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Well, for me, I started off maining Makoto. Of course, Extend was my first BlazBlue game. I was introduced to it by my friend. I'd been playing fighting games for a while before picking up BlazBlue, and I really enjoyed rushdown characters, so my friend told me to try Makoto. I liked how she played, but she just wasn't main material for me. So, instead of just staying on complete rushdown, I decided to go through some of the cast. Lambda, Rachel, Valk, Ragna and all that.. None of 'em stuck. But then, I tried Relius - and damn. I dunno what it was about him, but I LOVED playing as him. Since that first time I tried 'em, I knew I was gonna be spending most of my time on Relius. :3 And he's a pretty cool guy. Kinda mean .... yeah, but a pretty cool guy.
HyroXIII Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 For me (starting in Extend) I liked Valkenhayn the most out of all available. little did I know it would be a painful process learning him, but I stuck with him, determined to master him. I eventually started using Haku more because of his high power to low combo ratio(that and I prefer characters with counters). In BBCP I just know I'll be good with Mutsuki because I've always played better with stance characters such as Siegfried in SC3. (it'll be a chore to learn the charges but worth it). Also, I feel I'll do well with Azrael.
Arklancer Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 (edited) I was a ragna/noel player (Starting at the very end of ct on an old psn account) . I was gone all of cs and then came back in extend and for me mu-12 was the best thing to ever happen. I first grew to like her because of how much much more versatile she is compared to the other zoners (In that shes not completely screwed if the opp gets in her face). That and she is friggin noel as a murakumo unit which replaces all of her annoying traits with pure badass. Too bad thats all gone in CP from what it sounds like. Makes the fact that she got so little screen time in the cs story all the more painful. As for ragna...well EVERYONE uses him so I picked him up both because I like how he plays and so I stand a better chance fighting the hordes of ragnas online. (P.S English mu is better than Japanese mu) Edited February 16, 2014 by Arklancer
Agni Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I play Platinum because I like little girls. ...Uh, yeah. I like her playstyle too. I picked Nu as well because her drive's concept (throwing out psuedo-long range weapons) appealed to me as well. I tend to gravitate towards characters who are offense-orientated but not completely rushdown. I also love zoning people so that's why I play Rachel sometimes. I might drop Nu for CP and stick with Rachel and Plat.
Merginoch Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I play Platinum because I like little girls. Pretty much why I started learning Platinum. I bought CT on a whim years ago and tried to play Rachel for the above reason as well but she was too difficult to use so I switched to Noel instead. She seemed fast, has guns, and is pretty cute. A friend convinced me to get BBCSEX last year and I noticed that they put another cute girl into the character roster so I got right to it. My decision making with this was very shallow since I wasn't really into fighting games back then but they're both really fun to use and I'm glad I started with them..
Jins-Ice-Car Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I watched match videos and chose the character that was the coolest.
Arklancer Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 (edited) I guess everyone is pedo for platinum? I never cared much at all for her/him/it as a character. Seems fun to play though. Edited February 21, 2014 by Arklancer
Liminal18 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I guess everyone is pedo for platinum? I never cared much at all for her/him/it as a character. Seems fun to play though. I actually don't like her visual character design, but she's super easy to pick up and play. I think the fact that she's fairly recognizable mechanically (she borrows a few ideas from Mia of KoF) makes her all the more appealing.
Verimeloni Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Even though I've been playing BlazBlue right from CT, CP has been like the first real BlazBlue experience for me considering it's a competitive FG. I liked playing Tsubaki in CS but as soon as I first watched some random match with Azrael versus Tager, I knew exactly what character I would play in the magnum opus of the series. That and love phantom and float glitch.
Lamme Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Picked Amane. Not sure if that was the best idea as a total beginner to the series (and these kinda games in particular), but I just didn't want to play Ragna, Jin or Noel cos apparently "everyone" plays them. Still learning bnb's and I haven't had a chance to play offline yet.

That and love phantom and float glitch. Azrael can do some pretty silly things
CosmicShadow99 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Picked Amane. Not sure if that was the best idea as a total beginner to the series (and these kinda games in particular), but I just didn't want to play Ragna, Jin or Noel cos apparently "everyone" plays them. Still learning bnb's and I haven't had a chance to play offline yet. Those three are the staple characters of the series and are quick to learn so that's not surprising. They are basically made for beginners.
Aloci Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 I saw Amane. I said I want to play Amane. Then I played Amane.
Ashura San Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 when I first started playing CT, At first it was ragna and jin...just because I like them. But then I wanted to try playing one of the hardest characters to learn....I picked rachel. but then I wanted to try carl. I instantly regretted that decision and immediately switched back to rachel after practicing carl for 30 minutes. I'm still a rachel mainer even though I suck, but at least she's still easier than carl. xD
Jotamide Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I'm asking myself this question these days. I was never too interested in either CT or CS. However, I own them and have played them long enough to have a good idea about the game mechanics. I liked Noel and Bang in CT, and Tsubaki and Valkenhayn in CS, now for CP I'm thinking on playing Bullet. Sigh, I wish BB's characters were as straightforward as P4A's or even BB's.
greatfernman Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 saw azrael had a kamina colorway. mained azrael when cp came out.
NemesisZeru Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Decided to main Izayoi when she came out, since I liked Tsubaki, and Izayoi's definitely got that whole paladin-y vibe. She's trickier to play then I thought, though. ;3;
Fortune Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Mu - Godslayer voice appeal! Gameplay wise, reminded me of Venom's ball setups and the uncountable ways you could do them. Relius came out of nowhere recently, but I've enjoyed similar Ignis pressure setups even though I suck at them.
