Neuro Chaos Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Two words: INTERNET. SWORDS. Also eye-patches are totally moe.
Vshadow Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Arakune just seemed like he'd be a lot of fun to play. His awkward combos, movement style, and obviously dem BEES all just seemed really different and I thought it would be fun to try out. That and I just think he's the coolest character in the cast, reminds me of Noface from "Spirited Away" who I've thought looked awesome since I was a kid.
dboeren Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 I need help on deciding on a Sub. Carl - I know it sounds silly, but if he didn't have the clap loop, I would be all over him. I just don't want to rely on the clap loop which is a total mood killer for me (the dev's surely didn't have a clap loop mind when creating him) What do you guys think? I'm sure the Clap loop will be out sooner or later, and if they happen to make Carl actually somewhat decent I would have a head start if I started playing him now. It sounds to me like you really prefer Carl. Play Carl. Do not use the clap loop (maybe only occasionally to punish spammers who really deserve it?). Problem solved!
Segal Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Iron Tager is voiced by the same person who voiced Chad in Bleach, in English, anyhow. Instantly made me a fan. I'm not big on Bleach, but I thought Chad was a nice design, so being a Chad fan lead me to being a Tager fan. I'm so screwed. After I get the basics down I might learn more complex characters.
Infectellect Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 reminds me of Noface from "Spirited Away" who I've thought looked awesome since I was a kid. Indeed he does, big time! Almost a direct character rip-off. Ragna because he is a BAMF. Looks like a BAMF. Talks like a BAMF. Sings like a BAMF... ok... maybe not... but I decided to learn a character that I could more easily get down the game mechanics with.
Jam-Kiske Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Temporary main is just based on my like of her looks and that I found it easy to play as her when I tried. When I actually own this game my main and sub are susceptible to change... god I hope I don't end up playing Jin.
Skye Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 My friend initially recommended Taokaka to me, but I found that Jin suited me better, plus there was the Ky appeal, who I mained in Guilty Gear.
Kairi_Yamoto Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Ragna is my main. I've always gone for powerhouse characters in all fighting games, Sol and HOS for GGXXAC, and Ike in SSBB. So I feel right at home with Ragna.
Shahjan Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Ragna, cause I usually picked more balanced charaters like Jin (Ky from GG, etc.), and I thought it was cool to have a edge of you seat sightly low heath balls to the wall rushdown charater that didn't take a 10 hit combo to do solid damage (I'm looking at you Taokaka). Also way back when I first saw this game I saw him do Hell's Arm and I got a Kazuma from the anime Scryed HELL YEAH FORGET PROJECTILES JUST PUNCH THE EVERLOVING CRAP OUT OF YOUR OPPONENT and I fell in love from there. Also Ragna is a girls name, you can google it

GenesisDC Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 First I wanted Jin because he's the ice guy and seemed pretty cool (lol puns). I played him and was kinda disappointed so I put him to the side. Then I saw Noel, but I was having trouble executing her combos (5C xx throw loops into Drive juggles) so I put her to the side as well and I'll try to learn her later. Ragna always seemed cool, so I learned him and like him the best. He's pretty much my only true serious character atm and I plan on going somewhere with him.
lxMetalSonicxl Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 I chose Jin when I saw gameplay footage of him last year and he reminded me of Ky. I then figured he would be my sub but after playing him, I realized that giving away Miami was all I really wanted...
Tigehwolf Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Because of Tao's Boobie Lady comment, I chose Litchi first! At which point, after playing online enough, I decided I wanted to do try out something new. WAS going to be Taokaka..Till I saw Mike Z's videos and decided "Sure, why the hell not, I never played those big hulking characters in other games"
Colt_MX Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Long combos, average speed, variable styles, damn sexy. Yup Lichi was the absolute one for me
Lord_Phoenix Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 At first I wanted to pick Jin because I was a Ky player back in GGXXAC, but then I didn't like how he played. I like Tao's goofyness and her crazy "I get through all your zoning lololol". And plus she can combo practically off of ANYTHING.
DC Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I walked into an arcade, saw Rachel once and said that I would play her. Then I left without playing.
NekoJet Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I chose Noel when I saw her official art, because I Really like this character design, She is my Goddess
BlackV1p3r Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I chose Noel because she is the most attractive, followed closely by Litchi.
Tatsh Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I bought this game knowing nothing other than it was mentioned often in discussions about "What to buy? KoF12 or BB?." After the 800 MB patch and the online flop of KoF12, I fluked out in getting the last copy of BB at my local EB games. I saw the cover, saw this chick with guns, and though "oh snap, she has guns." Then the back of the isntructions made me go "Oh snap, she's a babe too." Then I tried her out in training mode and liked what i saw n__n
Jam-Kiske Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Funny how the token eye candy loses to Noel. HELL YEAH.
Captian Soviet Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I was attracted to playing Ragna mainly cause he had dark, aggressive powers like my main in sf4 , akuma. I play Jin only for effectiveness, like Sagat but I grew to really like Sagat now. Jin is still a prick. I share a first name with Noel and is pretty fun. M. bison is friggin' dictator that fights and that's awesome.
fauxtrot Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I picked this game up on a whim after a double impulse buy (LCD TV > Xbox 360) and a decade break from 2d fighters... now I'm as hooked as I was when I used to beg my parents for quarters to play SF Alpha 3 at the local movie theater. By day 2, I'd finally chosen v-13 as my main and had the intentions of learn Rachel and Tao once I felt like I had mastered her. Then we finally got the internet installed at our house and I learned that I'd picked one of the most hated characters in the game... I have been on the receiving end of nerdrage ever since, and I rarely attempt a D-combo. I don't want to to give her up just yet, but I probably will once I feel like I've mastered her so I can finally win a match without all the hate.
Hakumen Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 When I saw Hakumen I loved his design and then I loved his burn all evil attitude, I usually like Armored Knight characters and holy-type characters more than dark characters. So I also liked Jin alot (he seemed like an insane person but his story is deeper) and to think that Hakumen was you know who, made it all the better. Both fighting styles are very interesting and fun to use and so I am glad they are my favorite characters.
