I'm disappointed they only opted for XX versions as well [and yet ironically excluding it from mention in the timeline ] but I am very, Very, VERY pleased with the Overture song selections. But I really do hope that the inevitable DLC tracks go above and beyond [even Ishiwatari's works] across the GG spectrum; outside of my forever love of Isuka, I'd really like some Judgment tracks.

I'll say some of the best themes are the GGX versions so I hope that get some more love.

There was a stream that scrolled over all the tracks, but it wasn't of good enough quality to read them. However, I did notice that Sol's theme is now called Junk Yard Dog for some reason.

Do we also know the names of the new themes?

I don't see why everyone dislikes the XX versions. Maybe it's because I'm not really a super-big metal fan, or because I heard the XX versions first, but I really like them. I've heard the X versions too, and I don't think they're bad (except for Suck a Sage, whose bridge bugs me in the X version whereas in the XX version it's one of my favorite parts of any Ishiwatari song...in my absolute favorite Ishiwatari song ever), they certainly have a more "raw" sound which sounds really powerful and awesome, but the XX versions are still good.

I think if anything the GGXX OST sounds rawer-- it loses a lot of elements that were in the GGX arrangements.  For example, a lot of the extra keyboard details and guitar fills in the original version of Burly Heart:

It tends to make certain songs more plain as a result.  I guess having actual drums is nice though...
