Hey there. Just wanted to pop in and get my information down on here. As a heads up, I'm part of a fighting game club that meets every Monday in my respective town of North Canton, Ohio. At the moment, the typical game that is played is SSF4, but I really want to try and get it so numbers meet in both Guilty Gear and Blazblue as well. (blaz is actually my primary game. x.x) We do play Blazblue, but the number of people who want to be competitive atm are limited to 3 above average players (myself and a couple guys from Akron)

We have a website for our club with more information if you're interested in meeting us to play some fighting games. We play pretty much anything, but they limit a lot to SSF4. x.x

I couldn't help but notice the Northeast is limited a bit, and I'd like to say hi to everyone in the Ohio region. I've been a Dustloop lurker for a very long time (I watch vids and read up on strats a whole lot) but I think its time to change that.

hey, welcome. we're dead in anything that isn't super in the northeast, buddy. makes me a bit sad since i only play gg and a bit of 3s. we used to have a huge marvel and tekken scene, too, but it all just dried up. but if you wanna learn gg, i'd try and help. we need some new blood that want to get serious in that. but canton is really, really far. do you want to meet halfway at like chris's on a wednesday?

^ Well, at the moment I'm kind of limited on transportation until likely the end of the summer. I have a car but it really only gets me around Canton. Its taking a turn for the worst and its been my commuter car (I attend the University of Akron) for 3 years now. I'm likely gonna be picking up a new car around the end of August, so we'll see then.

Honestly, I'm not too terrible at Guilty Gear. I'm likely not up to the level of some of the players in this state, but I'm not a beginner. I can do some pretty decent May techs and I know how to buffer and chain my moves together, though I admit I may be a little TOO offensive, but I really got into Blaz recently when I really got into learning Tao.

Oh wow, this is a pleasant surprise. I am currently attending the University of Akron and I was looking around but it seemed like there was no BB scene in Ohio. I would love to play some offline BB. I don't really play any other 2d fighters though. So I would love to see some BB happen in canton because of how close it is to Akron.

^ I also attend the University of Akron, and I usually hang out in its game room. I've kind of not been playing Blaz down there lately due to some players there having ridiculous amounts of sour grapes.

I will be on campus during the fall semester, but my playtime down there will be limited as class will be taking up most of my time. My other two partners in crime (Craig and Steve) may be down there more than I am, and they're actually quite a bit better than I am.

If you want to get some more practice in before school starts though, come on down to our Monday club. Getting a northeast BB scene started can begin with a small group of people y'know.

Oh hey, Columbus Bar Battles is going to have BB:CS, and they have a poll for adding another game. GG:AC's on the list.

You guys should vote GG:AC and make the trip. Some out of state guys (Michigan) that play BB coming in to play BB/SSF4. This may turn out to be a pretty awesome event. It'll be hard to top Third Strike and CvS2 in voting for another game to be added, but maybe showing support and heading out etc might convince them to let it run.

alright, so at the last one i asked if i could set up gg and i got told off about there not being space or whatever. so now they want to run all of this shit and have even more people coming in for super since they're trying to turn it into a regional. where are they gonna stuff everyone?

It's really a good question. I'm still going to go. I want to play BB:CS versus some of the guys from Michigan who've posted that they're coming. I haven't been to any of the bar battle events before so I'm not sure how they set things up.

I'm actually kind of upset that they're running things on 360s though. Out of the BB scene around here, I don't think many of us play on 360. The guys FROM COLUMBUS play on ps3 pads. JetM isn't a scrub either so it's worth respecting him wanting to play on ps3 pad (if he's going).

I'm basically just going to bring my ps3 anyway and have it ready.

edit: Actually i think it'd be a good idea to get your guys input on this if you are planning on going and entering BB:CS.

Should I bring it up to the guys running things? I know some of you guys play on 360 and it'd also be nice for you guys to play on your equipment too.

I talked it over with DandyJ, it'll be listed as 360 with everything else since the guys from Cbus all basically own 360s. It's what they can guarantee having there.

But I'll bring my ps3 and I'm sure someone else wouldn't mind bringing one either. The tourney won't be as big as SSF4 so it likely won't need more than 2 or 3 setups total. The 360 only thing was mostly a strict deal for SSF4 since they still have that retarded timing delay where the ps3 is slightly slower than the 360 too. Good shit Capcom and Sony.

^ I would REALLY like to make it out to the bar battles as I may have a caravan going down there that weekend (apparently theres a Smash tournament going on on OSU campus that weekend too) but that really depends on my car issue and if I have money at that time. I start school literally 2 days after bar battles and I hate coming home and being not prepared for my first day back due to goofing off the previous weekend (I've done it a lot. xD) Yes, Akron goes back very early. We always go back August 23-26. We also get out at the end of April from spring semester.

I would definitely go if GGXX:AC is the polled game. I don't want to just come down for Blazblue, especially since the other game I'm interested in sets up at the same time as Blaz.
