I discussed this with Raging Tofu regarding the topical format of this thread, and we came to the conclusion that a Question and Answer Thread would be the best and easiest way to convey all storyline elements relating to Guilty Gear. It is similar to the previous thread with the difference being that all relevant plot elements will be kept here while GG Fanfiction can have its own thread. Speculation relating to GG Plot will be allowed here, with the trust and faith that personal bias would be set aside in favor of actual Guilty Gear Canon facts presented and taken at face value. Meanwhile, those of us knowledgeable in GG Lore, will do our best to present information as accurately as possible, including translation, corrections, revising relationship charts, timelines, terminology, story resources, pertaining trivia, extra omake info, etc., etc. While this is in Q & A format, so we aren't forced to spill our guts, we plan on compiling this information in webpage format. That said, ask away!

I think Daisuke mentioned it in his AX interview; He said that he wanted to have a unique boss for his series and that Justice is inspired by Tekkaman Blade.

Side note too, Zone of Enders Orbital Frames refer to this as the cockpit, no pun intended. Justice's Michael Sword is a Tekkaman reference to the Mikhail Blade as well.

I believe it's been said but until Daisuke says otherwise, the relationship of Time-Slipping between Raven and Axl appears to be retconned. The current Raven has no mention of powers over causality (i.e course of events) though he can generate slow fields, and summon a raven as his mobile minion there's no mention of Axl in his profile. Regarding Axl, the ever expanding theory is that the energy around his body that causes time slips can expand and affect others as it did for Jam and the Robo-Kys . This energy appears to be influenced either by Axl's emotions or by conflict as Sol and I-no can generate the affect now. If the time slips still have anything to do with Raven, there has yet to be a proper mention given. From and relating to Raven's origin story (posted by Suzaku), Raven is a half-dead 'modified' immortal. If Axl has anything at all to do with that, it would have to be the 2000+ years Raven has existed. Axl slips but Raven changes very little, the rest is unknown.

i was under the impression they are two different beings with totally opposite natures (parallel existences). raven is ever unchanging and static while axl is always bouncing around and shifting.

and when two such wildly differing objects come into contact with each other, they immediately repel one another, but since raven is immutable, its axl who's tossed away.

What Zazz said is speculation at best, as no more information beyond that is given. Basically, compare/contrast a rubber ball with a rock. Though in this case the rubber ball is a highly dense, high speed and bounce super ball capable of bouncing in and out of the fabric of the space-time continuum and generates 'holes in time' upon impact. What happened with Raven and Axl would be like if that rubber superball bounced off the rock.

Can you explain the relationship between S-Ko and Zappa? I know S-Ko is heavily rumored to be Axl's girlfriend, but why is she with Zappa?

If I recall correctly, Zappa is (unknowingly), a very powerful medium and conductor of spirits. Basically, S-Ko and the other ghosts were drawn to him because of this, but as of now they've taken a liking to him and want to stay with him.

What Amadeous said, but also if you understand Austrailian folklore, Aboriginees (sp?) are very powerful spirit mediums who enter some form of meditation called 'Dream Time' which lets them contact spirits. They are also known for making charms that either ward off or capture spirits, such as dream catchers. It's possible the heart-shaped charm headband Zappa wears is also one of these charms, though it's possible it had an opposite affect, thus attracting spirits like a magnet. Also, Axl's girlfriend's name is Megumi. S-ko is short for Sadako Yamamura, who, when she was alive was said to have powerful psychic abilities and psychokinetic manifestations. Her hatred towards men just probably made Axl miss his kind girlfriend. Axl says girls were never so strong or violent in his era, contrasting Jam, Millia, and I-no, but also Baiken to some degree.

That was taken from the GG Bible I believe, one of Potemkin's important things are indestructible pencil cases.

So are Valentine and Justice related to each other? Aren't they both in some form part of Sol's wife, or am I just horribly confused...

For GG Bible scans, go to GuiltyGear.ru, just note that the Bible itself is a tad old and there may be retcon parts to be concerned with, it's untranslated as of yet, but we're working on that. There are no immediate links, only similarites: --Valentine bears resemblance to Aria, and has similar Command Type Gear powers, and form that Justice had, this being the only link to Justice. --Valentine seems to carry fragments of Aria's emotions and memories inside her, whether they are fabricated is unknown. --Valentine has a mother figure and draws upon beings called the Vizuel for support. It should be noted that both Aria and Justice are confirmed as 'dead', and that Justice was pregnant during the interval in which she was sealed.

Total speculation since not a whole lot is confirmed for Aria aside that she does become Justice. But is it still in the realm of possibility that Sol could be Dizzy's father, for all we know before Aria became Justice, Sol and Aria undoubtedly did a few things behind closed doors. And if that part is true, then that would make Sol the grandfather of Sin.

Regarding Sin...

Ky is his father and Dizzy is his mother (which makes Justice his Grandmother (and by extension Valentine, maybe). If Sol is really Dizzy's dad, then that makes him his grandfather. He's essentially all the main characters rolled into one.

My question: Is Overture 5 years after GGX or 5 years after GGXXAC? Is there a significant time difference between those two?

I'm not going to sugar coat this, but any and all parent-child facts in GG have not been stated so clearly as Ky's fatherhood of Sin has. It may be fun to speculate, but not even Justice being Dizzy's mother is 100% guaranteed, since it's implied Dizzy is a replica. I treat this topic with forensic gloves if I can. If I were to be flippant, I could say That Man and Frederick are by extension the fathers of all Gear-kind, though that doesn't account for Blackard or Zepp or A Country Gear Manufacturing, or Postwar Administrative Bureau's Anti-Gear Kinjuu derivatives.. The UN and IPF would have a field day with Dizzy's origin's alone, hence why Ky has access to IPF's Database. Dizzy probably has a barcode hidden in her genes somewhere to reflect this. To say nothing of PWABls plan for a D-Series. There is absolutely nothing on Valentine at this point.
