Well, they're called sealed weapons for a reason, so it's alright to speculate, just know that the facts aren't available yet.

It doesn't help that a character like Tyr who WAS a god of lore, can cause OutRage to resonate. He was sealed away for a time besides.

Further, BlazBlue's Mu-12, mentioned "7 Celestial Gods" and whilst that's unrelated, it's logical to suspect 8 gods were sealed in the Jinki, Jinki translates as "Divine (Godly) Tool", on top of this.

Okay, here's my draft for my Seikishidan article for the wiki. I'm too lazy to grammar check it now, but I'm gonna do that when the content is approved here. Here's my article:

______

The Sacred Order of Holy Knights (Seikishidan), known also as the Holy Knights or Holy Order is an international military force formed to battle Gears.

I. History

At 2074, a major country, speculated to the United States, attempted to use Gears to dominate other nations. However, Justice, a Gear with a free will who was the sole Command Type, controlled other Gears and gave them a human extermination program. Her first target was the nation of Japan and because of the overwhelming power of Justice and the Gears, it was destroyed. As a response to this tragedy and as a defense against the threat of extinction, the international community formed the Sacred Order of Holy Knights and the war known as the Crusades began.

The Crusades remain as a mysterious section in the Guilty Gear history. The war lasted for a hundred years but the details are very minimal. The few facts include Kliff Undersn becoming the knights’ commander for decades and its greatest warrior, and that he lost his son, Testament, decades before the events of the first game. Ky Kiske and Sol Badguy entered the Order a few years before the Crusades ended.

Sometime after 2173, Ky Kiske becomes the last commander of the Order and successfully led mankind to victory against the Gears. The war ended at 2175 at Justice’s sealing, and the Order was disbanded.

In 2180, the fear of a revival of Justice led to a Sacred Order recruitment tournament, the main story of Guilty Gear: Missing Link. The former members Sol Badguy, Kliff Undersn and Ky Kiske participated in the said event, which is actually perpetrated by Testament.

With the war over, the knights return to the civil society. However, it is most likely that some of them followed Ky Kiske into the police force. It is also shown that the knights seal dormant Gears and guard them for information and research. Also, Ky’s Servants in Overture and the few royal guards who protects his lover, are knights.

II. Military Operations

During the Crusades, the Order acts mostly on defense in response to the Gear’s relentless attacks and it is not known if Gears had a systematic invasion system. The knight's activities involve typical military operations such as evacuation of civilians, responding to distress calls and guarding shelters. Transportation is mainly through magic-powered airships and radio is still used for communication.

Combat is mostly melee, either through magic or physical attack. Swords and staffs are seen as the staple weapons. There is no indication of the use of firepower, but homing devices from airships can target enemies and attack them with amplified magic. Also, the Order possesses an ultimate weapon, a satellite that fires a very powerful aerial blast. It was used in Operation “Last Resort” to finally kill the town size Megadeath-class Gear Hydra.

Notable Operations: Battle of Rome, Sealing of Hydra, Sealing of Justice, Operation Last Resort (These should have their own articles)

III. Organization

A. Recruitment

Only the strongest fighters are allowed to join the Order and its way to select the best is through a recruitment tournament. So far only two tournaments have been known in the history of the Order. One was held at some point before the main story while the other happened at 2180.The exception is Sol Badguy who was recruited personally by Commander Kliff Undersn and joined the Order as a special member.

There are no known qualifications in participating. Women are allowed to join and they are seen to be fighting in the frontlines in the manga. The basic requirement is the ability to wield a weapon, and young teens are allowed as long as they can fight, however, it is most likely that they become apprentices first. Ky is no older than 14 in the Battle of Rome and May battled in the second recruitment.

B. Ranks and Units

The Order functions like a usual military unit with a strict hierarchy. The only ranks known so far are commander and captain. Most likely, a captain commands a fleet of airship and lower ranks come directly under. However, despite having no specific rank, Sol is a dignitary, implying that he hold a special status. The Order also has specialized units for physical attack, magic and healing. Airships also require engineers and technicians, and scientific research that does not belong to the Black Technology is in the workings of the organization.

C. Uniform

The standard Holy Knight uniform comprises of a short cape, white pants, golden buttons and a belt, though this is customized by members according to their liking. One of the most memorable aspects of the Holy Knight uniform is the belt’s plate where members carve their favorite word. Ky’s word is “Hope” while Sol’s is “Free.” There are no other known belts beside Robo-Ky’s “Ennui” which means “boredom.”

The uniforms are also color coded. Young recruits have their uniforms outlined light green, and Ky Kiske is shown to wear such in an illustration. Sol Badguy wears red as he’s a fire user, and Kliff Undersn wore brown for earth magic. Likewise, Ky’s lightning magic maybe directly responsible for the color of his uniform.

In the manga, the knights are seen to wear different types of outfit according to their style of combat aside from the standard uniform.

D. Principles

The Order is heavily similar to the middle age crusaders. It is implied that the Order is under the control of the Catholic Church and their values reflect traditional Christian chivalry. Some members of the Order display forms of charity and dedication in public service like taking in orphans and protecting civilians.

In Guilty Gear X, Testament, who swore himself as Dizzy’s knight, recited a Holy Knight oath, "In front of the populace I shall be a shield from the storm and a rock of support".

IV. Known members

A few important characters are former members of the Order.

Sol Badguy- A bounty hunter who saved Kliff Undersn, who was just 6 years old then, from a Gear attack. Decades later, he was personally recruited by Kliff to join the Order. Shortly after being a member, he deserted the group and stole the Fireseal to face Justice alone. He succeeded in weakening her and Ky used this opportunity to seal her.

Kliff Undersn- Commander of the Order for many decades and as well a respected fighter and Ky’s master. He dueled with Justice seventeen times but finally got defeated on their eighteenth duel. He secretly mourns for the loss of his son, Testament.

Testament- Kliff’s adopted son who got converted into a Gear. Because of Justice’s influence he fought against humans during the Crusades and perpetrated Justice’s revival. His experiences during the war cause him to eventually hate humans.

Ky Kiske- A prodigy in magic and strategy, he joined the Order at a very young age and became its last Commander at the age of 16. He was granted the Thunderseal as recognition to his leadership and combat skills.

Raymond- A former scientist of the Order. His ambitions and delusions caused him to turn the villagers of Isene to underworld monsters.

Other members:

Priest in Lightning the Argent- In the novel Lightning the Argent, he adopted Marina after seeing her as an infant left at the church’s doorsteps.

Priest in the Drama CD- He stays in the church where Kliff’s grave is located and had conversations with Testament. When he saw Dizzy’s Gear nature, he called her a demon and ordered the villagers to kill her.

Extra Notes....

I'm more comfortable in using Seikishidan instead of "Order." But I think it's more proper to consistently use English terms. What do you think?

Again this is a rough draft, I'll fix grammar errors soon and I'm going to add nice pictures when this is published in the wiki.

Isene is an island located in the kingdom of Villtania, just to add.

The Order's policies on Blacktech (guns, cannons, satllites, etc) are very strict, as they cannot use weapons that have lasting effects on the environment, or be easily used on humankind. This has a lot to do with their foundation as a military organization created by the United Nations, likewise the original purpose of the Post-War Administration Bureau, which they worked with..the two groups are the military equivalent of a toxic cleanup facility for B.O.W.s (bio organic weapons).

Gears originated in various manufacturing facilities called Gear Plants. A Country, Old world Zepp, and many other sites in the world had these Gear Plants. Justice' insurrection essentially turned these Gear Plants into "hives", bases of operation for Gearkind. Gears could be generated in mass numbers from these Plants. The Sacred Order based many of their military operations in locating these Plants and destroying their functions.

Posted

Because Command Type Gears can revive and generate more Gears, it was like trying to find the central hornet's nest of Gear Plants, to stop the Gear population from growing. This is also why the Order spent most of their time responding to distress calls instead of attacking the Gear Plants directly. That, and the Gear population had been known to be 3 times the size of the Order's largest airship fleet, meaning attacking central Plants was a suicidal mission.

Posted

Thanks for pointing out the policy on BlackTech, I forgot to include that. And if you don't mind I'll add the info that you added to the final article. Also, I think there should be a separate article for the Crusades and the battles I mentioned should be put there including Sol's attack on the Gear plant.

Your info about PWAb should be added to the PWAB article, if it exists.

Is there any article on Zepp and Gabriel? Since their continent is floating I assume they are not resticted on the use of Magic, yes?

Anymore new country like Isene, A and Illyria?

Okay okay, but I have a major exam so that one's gonna be put on hold. I made the Aria page btw.

EDIT: I don't know how I can get rid of my name in the pictures I posted and please tell me how to put additional infos. I want to credit Rallamajoop, caeli and Zer0kage for scanning those pictures I posted.

Just a mention, even though it should be obvious from having read NoK, Venom is a Ki-user, though he does use physics and triangulation with his Ki. Particularly when he froze his shots in place, he wraps his spirit energy around each ball.

It could also be speculated his ability to suspend balls in the air for Stinger Aim and Carcass Ride involve Ki as well.

I don't know about Dark Angel however, as he exchanges his cue-stick to summon it, so it's probably a form of contract magic (like Exebeast).

Deimmu Borgir (Dark Fortress) uses his Ki to surround his target with kinetically frozen balls, though I assume the target turning into a ball themselves is more symbolic than actual Ki compression or Magic, though his throws treat them as such. Anyway, the kinetic impact is strong enough to detonate the target.

Posted

Huh, I always suspected that but wasn't sure since stuff like the PWAB reports seemed to make a point of singling out Ki users in the game. But is he outright stated as being a Ki user in NoK then?

Yeaaaaaaaaaah, a part of me's with Kisoru here. I WANT to believe it, but if he did, you'd think they'd make a bigger deal out of another non-Asian being able to use it.

That or Ki just really hates white people.

Now that I think of it- since GG's magic is based on the 5 Chinese Phases/elements, Mountain or even moreso Valley seems like it would fit more (if one were to say Ki would be associated with Earth or Heaven).

He says it himself "Ki wo meguraseta boru" [My ki encircled the balls]. If that's not proof, I don't know what is. And anyways, they didn't make a big deal out of Kliff being a Ki user either.

Keep in mind Venom's an Assassin, so obviously he'd be hard to capture, or analyze. I'm not even sure P.W.A.B. even KNOWS his abilities' full extent.

Well, you kinda don't, but that's beside the point... Regardless, he could be using Ki as an energy sort of term, rather than the same sense the PWAB uses it. /shrug

Interesting... a possibility then, I suppose. Wasn't Kliff dead by the end of GG1, though? So of course the PWAB wouldn't be trying to analyze/capture a dead guy (unless we're getting into necromancy but that's another thing entirely).

Yeah, this. Also what Circ said. The PWAB's entire reasoning for following Chipp and Jam is because they can use Ki. Kliff is dead, so they can't do shit about him. They obviously know enough about Venom to know his fuckin blood type and obsession with Zato, plus the fact that he technically was just a de facto leader and not someone Slayer selected automatically.

I mean, I love me some Venom, but I don't think he's that special. He probably IS just using it in an energy term, not a Magic term.

Posted

@Circ: Obvious evidence is obvious, don't say I'm wrong just because you feel like it. Ki is Ki, he says it in the dialogue and in terms of use it applies, in the Japanese Script source it's called Ki which translates as Spirit Energy. Sure it's no Hadouken or Spirit Bomb, but being able to control trajectory/speed is one form of Ki use.

@Kitsoru: PWAB was analyzing people since long before they were supposed to be dismantled, which means anyone who was alive during the war who had any sort of power could be listed.

@clockmongler: Special or not he uses Ki, which means he can potentially fight Gears and Forbidden Beasts (which he does, which earns him leadership of the Guild).

If it were magic, they'd be referring to Chords and Sequences, Ki has been known to be used for sensors and threadlines for puppetry and other control-oriented techniques, so expanding one's own Ki around a cueball to control it's trajectory isn't beyond the bounds.

If you still don't like to believe the obvious, then you might as well not believe Slayer has an OutRage which was just as obvious. :/
