FunkyP Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Just ordered my NEC ticket online, Also this friday lets try to start at 7:00pm as close as possible, i wanna take advantage of all the time we have before SEB.
TheSlyMoogle Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Paul what time should I meet up at your house for tech tomorrow? Also could you either text me or PM me your address again. Well, assuming it's cool to ride up to tech with you tomorrow. Tim, you don't need me to pick you up for tech tomorrow?
FunkyP Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 John I'd like for you to get to my house before 6:30pm so we can get to Tech before 8:30, I might also be picking up Crimsonfalx at SPSU if we have to roll on 285 so that'll add like another 10mins to the trip.
Eshi Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 I will be at tech on time today. Will try to help people get set up for it on time too.
Jewdo Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Bringing my PS3 + TV + BBCS + SSFIV. Also, my JLF replacement parts came in today, so I'm good on equipment for SEB.
FunkyP Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 we're live http://www.justin.tv/funkyp#/w/548352240
FunkyP Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 SEB was disappointing to say the least. The southeastern BB community has once again let us down, with the exception to a few. Also here's that House Disney album for you guys that wanted it http://db.tt/s1Ssx3F
Jewdo Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Tekken 6 and HD Remix had the same level of turnout as BB (~8 people each). Tekken Grand Finals took place no more than 70 minutes after the tournaments started. SSFIV thrived (50-60+ people), and I had a blast with that, but BB/T6/HDR fans missed a big chance to represent their games. We get more BB players at our Friday night gatherings than we saw at SEB. What's say we host a tournament next time on the stream for $5 buy-in? I'd join.
FunkyP Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Tekken and HDR had 10 man brackets each, BB had a six person round robin. Also I don't know why you would want to pay for free casuals when you didn't even want to pay to enter BB.
ravaii Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Thanks for coming for coming out to SEB with the georgia tech crew, I was the only person in the BB tourney that isn't from that crew lol. Good job to Ivysaur and Chris, who got 1st and 2nd. I think they get free entry into final round and into the blazblue tournament as part of the top 2 prize.
TheSlyMoogle Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Meh this happened with ct as well though. The game is pretty tier heavy and people just get tired of it. Hell most people who dropped ct didn't even bother with cs
ravaii Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 I was talking with Chris about how when atlanta had a guilty gear scene it was the same deal with it having only one group and a small number of players, I think each state has a similar type of scene going on with Blazblue. I always attributed the guilty gear scene being like that because the game was different enough that everything in it had to be learned from beginner level, and that learning how to play it is difficult. Blazblue i am not sure how come it isn't bigger but I do know a lot of people tried out CT, thought it was broken before learning how to play enough to recognize real broken stuff about the game, and then that was it for them for BB.

Yea, there use to be a small scene in SC. Most of the players stopped playing the game seriously and I was left with only 2 people to play against. Everyone else either hates on the game or constantly complains about it. Needless to say, our scene is virtually nonexistent, when it seemed like we were going to have so many player before I really sucks because BB is one my favorite fighting games and it feels like the TvC situation all over again. I would have came to SEB, if my money situation was right.
TheGreatReptar Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 SEB's turnout was fairly disappointing. Just to remind everyone though, that next weekend is Tension Pulse 2010. Details at http://shoryuken.com/f7/tension-pulse-2010-atlanta-ga-november-20th-248130/ . Don't let last weekend's turnout stop you from attending.
FunkyP Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 If i end up doing the stream for Tension Pulse i'm not gonna be able to enter any games.
Jewdo Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 The tournament director will run GGAC for an 8-man bracket. I know that three players coming from Columbus play Gear, and 2 more have already requested it on SRK. GG Scene rebirth time. Come on down, Sly.
TheGreatReptar Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 How much would the GG tournament cost? 5$ like Blazblue?
Spring_Raid Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 (edited) @ TheGreatReptar: Me and about 7 of my friends will be there for Tension Pulse next week. This is actually the event most of us have been waiting for. @ Jewdo: I know at least one of my friends play Guilty Gear and I'll probably enter it for kicks, lol. I'm not that good, but I like the game. I'm hoping the GG tourney is $5 too. Edited November 15, 2010 by Spring_Raid
Eshi Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 shit, tension pulse is already here? guess I'll be going to that too.
ebzero89 Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I haven't entered a tournament in a while so I'll probably go and play gg
Daysoo Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Of course I can't go anywhere or do anything when there's lots of tournaments going on. In other news: Who here likes chocolate and is of legal drinking age? Found a recipe for making some chocolate infused vodka. While I'm not the biggest fan of chocolate, I thought someone here might get a kick out of it.
