Zeero Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 The reason i put the CH is cause thats the combo i hit the most during live game play. An if i were to do all that are u sure they wont be able to tech out cause thats alot of hits ?.? Carl combos go on forever, but a few things that I tend to keep in mind is... Avoid having 5A,2A,2B,6B in your combos because they have high hitstun proration. 6D as well... probably don't even bother doing for loops if you've already done 2 6Ds Try to use 8D as late as possible and as least as possible as it prorates hitstun like crazy... 8D's same move proration is also really bad... Try to have 1 of every Nirvana move to avoid same move proration as much as possible (As Isuyaru has done in his combos) Go in training mode and play around with doing different loops off the same starter and you'll see what i mean But pretty much, you have to be able to react on how you landed the hit to start the combo and what to follow up afterwards... eg... if you start with A's, might as well go for resets because you're not going to be doing much damage regardless. IMO playing carl is a lot about reacting to what you get and get the best from it... actually i guess thats just playing the game lol. Dio no combo carl ftw

If not, it's because I succeeded in fixing it at one point only to witness it breaking again in less than a day -____-. It appears that as a result of said breaking down, I'm actually not as good as I was (I suck), but I'm knowledgeable enough (at least I hope so). But, evidently, I still hang around my peoplez at dustloop at times (BB...why...? Q_Q) Kyle, I'll try and get at that LIVE today. Give me your PS3.

So i started using alot of dif moves like 6D 2D Volante & 8D for my combos, the 4D loop gives me trouble & the volante loop is hella fun to do, but hard as all getout the timing of the J.2c-allecan gets to me...... =( im not big on DD so i save my heat for counter assaults mostly.

I only see (3) reasons to use Fermata. 1: early in a combo for big damage 2: at the end of a combo when you know the 100 dmg difference over Cantata will kill 3: Air UB, which currently has no set-up for. =( Cantata applications: 100 less dmg to fermata, but allows a kd/ok set-up. long combo... Cantata, 8]D[, IAD, J.2C, J.B, 2]D[, Cantata, 8]D[ for great damage react to burst... Cantata Corner UB set-ups w/ tension No ada... Cantata, RC, 66, 6[C] Corner UB set-ups w/o tension with Ada... Cantata, 22]D[, 3]D[/J.C or Cantata, 22]D[, 2B, 3C+2]D[ Blowback forces opponent into corner Midscreen UB set-up with Ada & 100% tension...Cantata, Fuoco, RC, 6[C]... Corner UB set-ups with 100%... Cantata, RC, JB+C, 8]D[ Can be used to Yomi against Counter Assaults/reversals. If you mes up the summon combo and ADA is all the way across the screen use this time to WALK YOUR BITCH, also be sure to input VIVACE as soon as Cantata is finished to allow the screen to catchup with ADA's position as well.... 3C, IAD, J.2C, Alle~can, 6A, Cantata, 8]D[, IAD, J.2C, J.B, 2]D[... With on-line play, it's kinda funny how often the last scenario has saved my ass.

BUT DUDE, HIS DDs ARE AWESOME! 8D They've won me the round more than once. (Well, now that I think of it, they've lost me numerous rounds as well. Fuckin' gears.)

I like fermata because you can legitimately combo after it for biggg damagessss on punish, unless you're using it too late. and even more so because it looks so cool. :] Anyone mess with SUPER DEEP j.C > 3C in sandwich to avoid j.C > 5B > 2B > 3C? :]

B) If I counter assault when ever they close end & get me blocking they wont be able to do damage. C) I only counter assault on hard characters to block ( RAGNA OMGF I HATE HIM ) people like tager tao & michael jackson I just IB & mess them up wit 5a D) I do use DD but mostly Rapsody of memories to end a 6D loop, because its easy to cross up & Mix people up wile they blocking. E) I IB like crazy soooo without me doing to much offence il still get about 130-150 heat per round.

Someone please test and get back with me b/c I'm out of town and don't have BB available ATM. Against Haku's Yukikaze: have him Counter Carl, Have Carl use his "Free RC", activate Neesan, See if we can input Rhapsody of Memory during this to punish Haku's Yuk (assuming ada had enough hp to survive that super). If this doesn't work, try buffering in the RC like: 214214A+B+C+[D]~]D[. Lastly, Someone confirm if we can combo an aerial opponent with 6C, Fermata. I'm trying to work early fermata into some of my UB set-ups but find it disappointing the only thing that goes into it are: 2C/8]D[(late)/3C(grounded). It would be great if 6C, Fermata worked b/c the proration difference of 2C&6C is +10%. Thanks guys, Kyle

That'd be kinda like doing it on reaction during the super freeze of All Green or Jayoku right? I'm probably reading it wrong, but why would you need to RC? I mean, you can still make Ada do stuff as long as you're not getting hit (yet lol). And, it wouldn't be a real punish because he's invincible until he completely recovers (at least in unl lol), especially him being haku and all. Ehh, again, there's probably something I'm not getting.
Kyle Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 No, you about have it. Carl has to do the "Free RC" to re-activate ADA after the superflash. It sounds wacky I know, just please try it out and see if you can get RoM to activate AFTER Yuki.

This same reason is why he cant do Alegreto into Fermata he needs to have the animation. As for 6C into fermata, yeah it works but on if its a CH & on a grounded enemy. It can be use for a UB set up on an airborn enemy , provided the right conditions N-O-C-Wall......spacing is super important, but if u get it right only a few characters can get out, Hak-man wit his D & ragna with his inferno divider...... >.> but no one that good & even if they do get it Carl is waiting to rest them as they land :] FREE CORNER COMBO
