I got that when it first released on Tuesday, reserved it a couple of weeks before. I think it's good for the most part. But apparently there have been problems with online play. :psyduck:

The only complaint I have with offline play is the lack of SDTV-support (its very difficult to read the move lists, and the micro-text tickers are nigh impossible to make out). The characters are great as always, the gameplay is solid, and the new mechanics aren't unbalanced (at least not yet), the stages are nice, the customization is great, and the music is fantastic. Well, at least most of it is, anyways (LISTEN: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuBKuYMqtgQ :vbang:).

Online, however, is a different story. The lag is dreadful so far (there is input delay on the character select screen), but I have faith that a super-patch is on its way. Until then, Training mode is the only mode for me.

Oh yeah, the player base isn't very good from what I've seen, either. I had one guy flame me because I beat him by blocking his attacks and attacking him back too much. Ugh, those types of people don't deserve to play video games with other people. :I:

I picked it up day one and i must say I'm very pleased, this is a nice step up from Dark Ressurection. The new characters feel very fresh to the genre in general and blend nicely with the already established cast. The revisions to the older cast is nice aswell, Lili is my main and she felt like a new character with all her changes n.n As far as online is concerned I have yet to experince any problem, it runs smooth as butter for me (unless on the rare ocassion I encounter someone with red/orange ping) the only time there's lag is after the fights during the victory poses, but by then the parts that matter are over ^^ The way sceneario mode was handled wasn't exactly "new" for the Tekken series but what was implemented was for the most part good, honestly though they should've simplified the engine for this beat-em up mode as you can't hardcore fight 90% of the enemies. Also I heard this would be co-op yet haven't found a way to play it as such... My only complaint in no Online Team battles? WTF Bamco? But if you're into 3D fighters and/or a Tekken fan, 6 is deffinately worth checking out!

I got my PvE and PvP toons all twinked out.

This is the first Tekken game I plan to practice since 2 and 3 were more for fun than anything, so I can't comment too much on the game's balance. Seems decent so far. Overall, the game has been a blast to play, amazing fun with groups, looks GORGEOUS (though, it's a fighter from Namco, so I wouldn't expect any different), customization is decent (maybe could use a tad bit of work, but good for the most part), and the character selection is mighty impressive (even if there isn't quite as much variety as the game boasts, the mechanics are mostly to blame here). Not at all disappointed here. Been trying out Hwoarang, lots of fun.

I haven't had too much of a problem with lag (got the game today) so far.

But I agree, most people aren't very good from my experience. Been seeing alot of LP-RP scrubs already and Hwoarang LK-RK spammers. Plus almost everyone I've fought so far don't know how to block.

I use Raven BTW.

Not blocking in Tekken is a sure fire way to not win in Tekken.

Learning the 10 hit combos doesn't seem to help people out that much either.

Though it is hilarious to see someone actually pull it off.

Only to be answered with a combo that both works and does damage.

BJ's first post hit's it on the head. Great Offline game. We got cheated with the on-line netcode being shit & no on-line co-op Campaign mode available from release. Patch releasing in Dec. to enable on-lien co-op Campaigne & update hitboxes to be more accurate to the JP version. [NOT OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED BY NAMCO] No response on revision of netcode. It's bad guys... The game loses frame rate & prefers slow-down. No input buffering exist. You can mash your inputs & they will come out.

oh, and people get mad when you block though. seriously.

Question:"WHY CANT I JUST HIT YOU FREE?"

Answer:"Because I play Guilty Gear, hahahahahaha"

Just in case you guys were wondering, there is a sort of Dustloop for Tekken called Tekken Zaibatsu. Here is the link for the Tekken 6 page: http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumid=139.

Be aware, however, that info is a little more difficult to find than it is on DL, and the notation is rather complex.

Oh and double post, but if you read their guides they explain that korean ass way of discerning moves.

Apparently they have trouble with Dragunov's b1+2_d/b3 mixup. :kitty: I just discovered Miguel; I think he would be pretty cool to learn as well. Although, if I ever landed his unblockable, a ragequit would be sure to follow. It already happens with Dragunov's.

No one ragequits after getting hit by Kuma's unblockable twice in the same match apparently.

I even taunted afterwards. What am I supposed to do? D:

if someone picked kuma ide ragequit over the fact you picked his ass.

Seriously...Dragunov's oki is amongst the most dangerous. his 14f punishment is also sooooo much damage man. Dude who wrong his guide on tekkenzaibatsu=beast.

BTW favorite dragunov move = jesus boot, u/f3 is sooo good. jumps all the lame lows people try to do. CH = free combo.

After ~15 hours of practice (mainly on PSP DR), I've finally mastered all of King's chain grabs. Sort of. Now, I've just got to find a way to make sure they don't get broken. :gonk: Oh, and yes, I like u/f3 myself.

edit: I'm pretty sure at high levels, King's throws just become lol-BB positioning tools. Like, pow > grab dude, tell him: break it and end up at the wall or take it and end up in a wall combo; pick one. Or like, knockdown: roll backwards towards the wall, or get SCOOPS'ed in to a throw.

shrug, I don't play King and I don't know if they given his chain throws a mixup in T6.

Haha. The noise to signal ratio of TZ has always been omega-high. Namco always has tv spots for Tekken and TZ has always been good about appear on the first page of results from search engines. So naturally, you get alot of 'experts' trying to tell people how their 'combos' are unbeatable. There's good information to be had, but you sometimes have to dig through so much shit to find it. Tekken Tag was when I put away my shovel. Sitting in training mode, you'd probably find what your looking for faster then searching TZ or waiting for a mod to update a sticky or guide. Now, I just camp TZ for their framedata.

I hope SRK's Tekken forum doesn't turn in to too much shit.

SRK's Tekken section isn't horrible, just doesn't have all that much in-depth info, at the moment at least. Tekken Zaibatsu can be great or terrible, just kinda depends on what section you're in.

But my real question is: I haven't really got any time out to play the game yet, but who is a good female character for me to pick up? (Besides Nina or Christie, for various reasons) From what I've read all the girls except Nina and Christie are complete balls. This true? I generally don't like playing male chars, but if every single chick except for the two I swore I'd never use sucks, then...

Tekken 6 analysis after 1 day of playing: Offline mode is good, complaints of Azazel (sp?) being cheap is largely unfounded and honestly had more trouble with Jin in arcade mode. Online mode is mixed bag. When it isn't lagging, its ok, but when it does lag (which is often) is UGH!!!! I'll have lag happen with full green bar connections =/. Which rather sucks with Raven since some of his inputs have to be spot on to cancel some of his kicks into a high/low mix up or when I try to input a move that requires 2 buttons to continue w/e string I'm in and it reads only 1 button, and I get squarely punched in the mouth for it. Also on the 10 hit combos, if you catch someone and go all the way with it, they are really high damaging. But it seems like there are "holes" in some of these combos (which makes them not really combos) and offline I can get to the 8th or 9th hit consistently with Raven. Online I can barely make it to the 4th =/
