Pyro_The_Kidd Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 anybody got any tips on how to land j.C 2D j.2C? i still cant seem to get that dam timing down
TD Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 lf you mean lv2, do 2d as you input jc, double jump right after, then delay the j2c ever so slightly. (Basically from that point it will be lv2: lt's all about finding the time to do j2c.) lt's about the same delay as in CT when you end an air combo with j2c pumpkin oki.
AlwaysDizzy Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 I had a feeling it was that but I was to lazy to find out.
gli Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 What's funny is that online, if I do it normally without thinking about that slight delay, I seem to land it more often (lol online).
TD Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 After a bit of practice, it's one of those things that can be done rather instinctively - Like a good habit, if you will.
gli Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Yeah just like p-links etc. It's all muscle memory in the end.

After so many weeks still can't get the timing down. I managed to try that move a bit at the arcade today, using CT cos the CS machines were all occupied. Only managed to do it once or twice. The main problem i have is that after the 2d, either Rachel lands on the ground or is very low, or opponent techs before I can j.2c. What I'm doing now is inputting the 2d when I see the animation for j.c. Is that correct? Or does anyone have a better idea? In CT, there's like no delay lol, I double jump and immediately j.2c, still hits.
TD Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 That's the way l explained it in the beginning... basically press jc and 2d at the same time. Yes this one requires strict timing compared to it's CT variant.
gli Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 If you are too low after doing the jc to 2d it means your j.c at the beginning of the combo was too early. I find even that needs slight delay.
EvilWolf Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 0.o then the J.b 5A J.c 2D J.2c that Ma Dao keeps using must be pretty hard to pull off. While trying to do j.c 2d today, i did have a few problems, like 2d became 3d or i double jumped too early. Still need more practice i guess.
kirbster Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 glirandly is right, I've also been practicing this combo a lot these past few days, and the first j.C has to hit slightly higher than you would think. I remember that's the trick Genow found out and I've been using it ever since. And for the JC, delayed j.2C timing, like people said, it becomes muscle memory once you get it a few times.
GenoWhirl Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 I have taken some notes after a lot of practice. Possible on Bang, Jin and Tager with 6a 5b Superjump J.c 2d Jump cancel J.2C I can normally pull it off on Litchi, Taokaka, Noel, Arakune, and Ragna. I find this the best air combo because I can extend into BBL or if I want to continue the normal air combo it adds about 800 damage (CT), I think about 500 CS. I can also just set a pumpkin and wait for them to tech if I feel like trolling. It's also god damn sexy. The only bad thign is my thumb hurts, brb testing on Carl and others. Edit: It...works normally on Carl, but it's so tight that you're better off not attempting it. With Nu it's possible in the same manner as Jin, Bang and Tager, as well as the normal way, just be sure to jump high. I have no fuckign idea how to consistently hit with it vs Hakumen. Edit 2: THAT'S IT! THAT'S FUCKING IT!!! ALL I NEED TO DO IS JUMP HIGH! I MISS BECAUSE THEY ARE TOO LOW! I FEEL SO POWERFUL :yaaay::yaaay: So by waiting a bit after jumping it's possible on pretty much all characters pretty much
AlwaysDizzy Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 I've been practicing for the last couple of days and I've been able to do it 70 percent of the time. Gotta make it 100 if I dont wanna die for dropping combos in CS
TD Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 l miss it rarely, but when l do miss it is usually because l input j2c very late, which is usually because i'm concentrating way too hard. Genow's way can make it much easier l suppose, and it's a bit more practical than the way l do it, but it does require you input the jc at the exact time so that the opponent dosen't tech right out and punish you. I'm going to try it myself and see the results.
EvilWolf Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 I'm going to try it again later today, gotta work on the timing. Also, if the J.C has to be delayed, I have to input 6A, 5B, (j.b), delay, J.c, 2d, then j.2c?
sanshiki Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 you sound pretty confused. j.B delay j.C will result in a missed combo. If you have any delay, it'll be after the relaunch 5B. ie. 6A 5B delay (j.B) j.C 2D j.2C. 5B has more stun time than it seems, so you can play around with heights on your first jump cancel: Delaying your jump, normal jumping, super jump, j.B j.C or j.C variant. All you need to do is just to hit the correct height for the j.C then muscle memory 2D j.2C. Make an effort to have clean joystick execution. hit j.C with the stick at neutral, slide it to 2, hit D as your umbrella hits, 9jump (at this point the 2D wind affects your jump nicely) j.2C as late as possible given your j.C stun. It'll be good if you study up on her frame data so at least you know how things actually work and combo into each other.
EvilWolf Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 I tried it a few more times today. Did it successfully a few more times, though I still missed quite a few, my j.2c lands outside their hitbox. However, all those that I did successfully registered as invalid combos, the part where the opponent could tech out being the j.2c hit. D: I think I've -almost- got the timing down, but still need some more practice. Mostly the problem i have now is that my j.c is too low, or I fail at the jump cancel part, or 2d becomes 3d. The latter 2 can be slowly worked on, just need to get the height proper now. Hmm, in all those videos where this combo is being used, do they use super jump or normal jump? I know super jump helps with the height, but I fail at combos with super jumps in them...D:
Pyro_The_Kidd Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I FNALLY GOT 6A 5B j.C 2D j.2C TIMING DOWN IM SOO EFFIN HAPPY
TD Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 That's great! Now, if only everyone here could get it. Y'know, this reminds me of 6FRC6, which took me roughly 3 years to learn. Except this one was wayyyyy easier and took me roughly a week to learn.... ... My point is, arc loves making the timing on everything so small-windowed, it's satisfying to get a combo like this in consistantly.
crazycrackers Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 That combo took me a while to learn but its SO satisfying now that I can pull it off consistently. Especially because of that big awesome *thud* the lvl2 j.2c creates.
calendula Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Now we celebrate for gaining proficiency on the j2c spike combo, anyone has tried the j2c spike loop on madao new combo vid ? I can consistently do 2 at a row but 3 is just hard, I tend to have brain fart when I'm about to JC. Also I've notice that most character has a loop combo and they do hurt alot if they hit, So far this is rachel's only loop that deals significant damage (though not recommended).
DSveno Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I FNALLY GOT 6A 5B j.C 2D j.2C TIMING DOWN IM SOO EFFIN HAPPY AND I'M STILL HAVEN'T GOT IT I AM SO EFFIN SAD =(. The timing is kinda weird. Sometimes it just works, the other times the j.2C hit early and no bounce. Even though I said "sometimes", actually it means 1 in 50 tries =.= Well....that combo look so fascinating that I don't think any Rachel player should omit it.
