LordSpectreX Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I swear, I'm starting to think I should never fake-out. Like ever. Copperdabbit never does it. Nor does Skye and AbyssKnight from the looks of it. *sigh*. You played really well in all of them. I can't believe you were able to do 5C Diveloops in your first tourney. I was fumbling all over that. Must be French nerves of steel. To quote Skye. "Good Shit."

kousaka Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 fake outs are hard to use properly.. you will use them in due time.. it's a bit of a double edged sword.. some people will just do whatever/mash and hit you out of it.... some people will predict them and just punish you for spamming it.... it's not critical but some matchups such as haku, lambda, hazama at high levels will be heavily swayed by how well you can make of your fakeouts....
King_Slime Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/user/Adakune#p/u/1/mybeimYnRFE ..... Im not sure why the arakune player didn't just turn around and punch the shit out of the mu-12 player....
Abyss Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I don't understand what you mean... You wanted him to just wait and don't approach?
Senkei Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 You should be looking to see if Souji and Fumo do fake-outs lol. It's a great tool to use just don't be stupid with it. I find it very helpful towards my game.
LordSpectreX Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Oh no, I fake out quite a lot. In fact, I revolve a lot of my usual gameplan around it (when I'm not being nervous >_>). It's just I never really see other Arakune's do it. Makes me think I shouldn't be revolving my gameplay around them. Even though I use them decently. Then again, I like to think my aggression is very good, but my defense sucks ass. So fake-outs help me compensate me for that by making the opponent hesistant. And I want to punch all Mu-12 players in the face. I hate Arakune Vs Mu far more than I do Arakune Vs Lambda. Rage. I just hate that character so much. Thank god D Bug picks her up now. It's the only matchup where I will actually just choose someone else most of the time. Like Hazama. Even then, I still hate her. Not even against Lambdas or Litchis would I change my character.
Skye Posted February 9, 2011 Author Posted February 9, 2011 Mu isn't that bad if you know how to approach her.
Abyss Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I hate her also. Laser, Shoryu, great reach (damn her j2C and jC >_>). The thing is even if i can approach her, i don't want to pressure a lot because i'm afray to eat a shoryu or airchoppe (big range, i'm surprised sometimes). I like also when i FC her but i can't combo because of the laser ~ But when she is curse, it's a true pleasure Haha.
Skye Posted February 9, 2011 Author Posted February 9, 2011 The thing about Mu is guessing right, she has 3 typical options, Ground to Ground (5c), Air to Air (j.c), and Ground to Air (2c). You can beat 5c by avoiding it. You can beat j.c by avoiding it, which is pretty hard, but possible. You can beat 2c by baiting it, like all anti-airs. Dodge lasers and be aggressive, but block her shit. DPs should be baited and punished like all others.
Senkei Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Play a good Mu and tell me all that works. She is a fucking pain in the asss!
Skye Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 Our local Mu player is pretty damn good. I'm not saying the match up isn't hard...well, actually I sorta am. It's not Lambda hard, but it's annoying as hell and an up hill battle, but aside from her C attacks, it's nothing we haven't dealt with before on worse scenarios. If you stay out of full screen range and know how to block her, you won't get zoned to death. Aside from that it's a matter of not getting hit with her C attacks.
Senkei Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I'd much rather fight lambda... I know it sounds silly but when i've cursed her she is dead, Mu not so much... that is what frustrates me the most really. Well... and who I play against is just solid as fuck, can't grab or mix the fucker up at all lol.
LordSpectreX Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I agree with Senkei. Skye needs to fight MainG_Jago's Mu.
Abyss Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 If i have choice, i think i prefer Mu at all. Lambda can zone you so hard... and spike chaser is a pain in the ass (yeah, 2D can deal with it but you can't just do that always). And Lambda pressure is harder to see coming than Mu for me, TK crescent is quick and she can cancel it for do a better mix-up (crescent saber, low, grab, airbackdash for baiting any attack...). I don't say Mu haven't pressure, but it's more easier to see it coming (j2C isn't cancelable and isn't fast at all, if she do 6B overhead, IB the second hit and punish 5A>6B). But with lasers it's still annoying to protect everything. When i pressure her, i'm more afraid by her airgrab than other thing (j2C is shit also). 2A 5B jc 664jB... wait throw counter? fuck.
Skye Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 I agree with Senkei. Skye needs to fight MainG_Jago's Mu. Jago IS our local Mu, lol.
Toasty Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I agree with Senkei. Skye needs to fight MainG_Jago's Mu. Jago is the local Mu that Skye was talking about, actually.
LordSpectreX Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Jago IS our local Mu, lol. Bah. Humbug.
A.X.I.S. Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Jago is supposedly good online but he gets blown up at casuals and ranbats all the time. His netplay isn't strong enough. Jago lacks stein oki and footsies so its just a party for me.
A.X.I.S. Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Skye we have real life footage of Jago! we have him on camera man! Also Jago does not play match ups so once you figure him out you can have a party. Too bad you guys play Ara. It's not easy dealing with lasers when you HAVE to be in the air to do anything. FYI if Mu does any C poke as a blockstring just IB it and do whatever you want. I am confident if she tries 5C>6C in a blockstring you can IB 5C and do j.6A and she is hit, hell don't be surprised if you can dive on her before she can recover. You know what? 5C>6C? Try 2Cing it out of IB. Shame that you gotta yomi that 2C or you get hit. TL;DR IB her ground C pokes because she will be helpless at that point and has to commit. I IB ID'd 5C>3C.
Skye Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 You seems to forget that Arakune doesn't have Invincibility frames. We might be able to backdash out of it, but that's counter intuitive.
A.X.I.S. Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 (edited) The gap is huge enough for me the dash 5B with Ragna. Edit: I am gonna update this post with some bittles for Mu. Only because I like you guys. Sorry Dabbit and Kou but it must be done! Edit 2: Ouch you guys can forward dash 2A to punish that string but keep in mind if you can cross up. Shame you guys have hard time punishing bad moves. -_- Edited February 10, 2011 by A.X.I.S.
LordSpectreX Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 It's the price we pay. An awesome backdash but a (near) useless forward dash.
Skye Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 It's faster in CS2, we may be able to find some practical applications for it then.
