Arifureta Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 If it's not going to kill, it's probably not worth throwing a Jayoku in midcombo.
Fireryda Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Well if you have 100 meter to waste then why not. Gives you knockdown setup and ~30 meter back.
Eclipse Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 If it's not going to kill, it's probably not worth throwing a Jayoku in midcombo. Tell that to Buppa :-/ Haha. But yeah, I prefer to go for FC kills to increase the damage. By the way, I often find myself bacthrowing into Jayoku for a 6D~A x 2 > 623D and the corner combo.
Arifureta Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Touche. If your opponent's not going to shut down your BnB then just waste as much heat as you'd like. I like doing the Jayoku > 214D~C > dash crossup > corner combo. It's so fancy.
Eclipse Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Touche. If your opponent's not going to shut down your BnB then just waste as much heat as you'd like. I like doing the Jayoku > 214D~C > dash crossup > corner combo. It's so fancy. Yeah, I still haven't mastered that yet unfortunately. For some reason I have a lot of trouble dash canceling anything. I find it difficult to dash into 3C after 623D, dashing into 5C even gives me some problems. Hell, even dash canceling with Ragna in CT gave me some issues, haha. Yet I find Jakou into Mizuchi to be relatively easy. Ah well, and I'm not really in support for wasting heat. It just goes well with Buppa's hyperagressive, unpredictable style with Hazama.
kid viper Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 it really doesn't matter to use jayoku mid combo because you're going to gain the heat back anyway
Arifureta Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 ^ Truth Yeah, I still haven't mastered that yet unfortunately. I dunno, I just double tap it reeeeally lightly so my finger's out of the way when I hit the next input. The beauty of his dash is that since it's a fixed distance every time, I don't even have to hold it.
Eclipse Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Yeah, I like how he short dashes, since it makes dash canceling much easier. Despite how most people hate it because his mobility's low in running. Just chain all over the place, haha. Well, not exactly, but once you get the hang of moving with the chain, I think it's easier than running. I was an Arakune main, so I'm used to weird gimmicks with getting out of the corner. Every now and then I find myself air dashing backwards towards the wall though. Too used to that across the screen teleport. And true, kid viper. You can use RC's, and Jayoku's all day with Hazama, and still pull off a victory. That's why abare can be so great with him. Random hit into opponent's death is awesome. The main thing you need to pay attention to is what you started the combo with, since it heavily influences the damage via proration, and even when the combo will blue beat.
Ghost Beef Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Yeah I have problems getting the dash to 3C in as well... By the time I get there they're getting up :\
DF2K Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 I have no problem with doing dash-3s if I'm facing left, but right is a different story. If I plan on using dash-3c, jayoku, I just make sure the 623D is relatively high to buy more time, not to mention prorate the combo less to make the super worth it. But like Kid said, if you have 100 heat there's no harm in using jayoku mid combo just to add some additional damage, especially with Hazama's heat gain.
kid viper Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 not 100 heat. anytime you have heat you can use it. hazama isn't restricted by it because he has to do those combos so your opponent can be afraid.
kid viper Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 here's the "matchup diagram" of our arcade http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/2885/imag0005k.jpg the diagram's are very off because usually it's mainly me and kensou playing.
DF2K Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Today something amazing happened. My friend was playing Tager and he did wake up MTW. In response I did 3c, the first hit of MTW clashed with it and I canceled into Jayoku. The second hit of MTW and Jayoku traded and I ended up doing around 5.5k. XD I love Space Kick.

Fireryda Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Rachel is Mid-Tier. No bad matchups. What is this? I don't even-
Eclipse Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 The chart's clearly dependent on the players' skill level in that particular area.
Keo-bas Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 My appologize for posting this in the complete guide so I'm redirecting it to here. * this is a condense and grammar adjusted of the original post version* Hey guys I still contemplating I mainning Hazama. He looks like fun and interesting but one of the main things I hear about him are that is combo are strict and is damage out put is considered low. I think I can tolerate these but I want to hear your views on a player who primarily works on defensive play trying to use Hazama. Hazama drive seems unique and versatile in usage. I"ll like to point out that I'm not the excessive turtle like street fighter but I prefer to be put in defensive situation and look for opening. I'm not comfortable with aggressive style and have hard time taking the initiative. I'm comfortable with relying on my reaction and creativity on defensive and neutral scenarios. *This reply is to comply with the post's made earlier in the Hazama Complete guide thread* Thank you guys for your inputs I’ll like to comply about some of you’re the suggestions. I must admit that one reason I did not play with Nu/lambada (surprise none one mention Hakumen) was due to tier placing. (I have the low tier whore syndrome) Also I personally don't pick character that suits my style, I prefer to choose characters I like by design.
Arifureta Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Eh... Lambda's in the same tier as Hazama so it's not really as if you're tier whoring when you pick her. If you really wanted super low tier, you could always go with Hime-sama. :V Which actually isn't as bad an idea now since ever since her nerfing, most of the people I watch with her just go with super defense and insane yomi to catch out their opponents. Of course, I could be totally wrong.
kid viper Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 i have no clue why everyone thinks rachel is low tier. she really feels mid tier at this point of the game. without a doubt in my mind tsubaki is the absolute worst in the game. a character with no damaging options and loses just to the opponent holding up-back.
Arifureta Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Tsubaki with no install == Absolute worst character Different story if she has it though. It's not as big a jump but it does kinda up her game a little. Of course, if you have Tsubaki people who don't use it then... Rachel's damage output is preeeetty low without heat (and even with heat, it's still kinda iffy). So, I dunno, she can punish but not significantly, which is one of the reasons why I think she's pretty low tier.
Keo-bas Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 @Arifureta- Didn't know she change since she seems the same from her CT counter part. But even so she's not appealing as character.(she much more strongly as keep away character and I'm not into excessive turtle) @Kid-viper- You and me both. I think most if her previous player just hate that they have to think outside of the box now to play her. But tsubaki seems far from bad ( not to mention no character seems bad, just not excessively good). Admiditly defending against her does seem pretty easy. I dunno since I mostly play bottom tier characters, I'm usually able to be optimistic on them. Not to mention that even if she has the worst tool's , blaze blue mechanics pretty much compensate for any needed buffs. Though honestly I must admit I'm not worry about tier whoring in this game. (BBCT I was) but I do dislike glaring good characters. (looking at you arakune/ litchi)
