Was going to help my friend with cutting and putting on the art for him, and this is what I found. Looks like people at MadCatz were bored...

Finished product. PS-14 Gs and da Seimitsu Purple ball-top.

When you guys make the art in PS, do you just get high-res renders and stocks and such? I feel like the stick would look blurry/garbage if I just blew up lower res art.

Always gotta use high quality renders. Make sure you set up your document right for printing. CMYK~ and etc.

depends on how big you want it. I used some lower res art, but if you don't blow it up to cover the entire piece it doesn't really look terrible, could look sharper but you work with what you got at the end of the day.

yes that pic is already low res enough on my monitor, printing it out would degrade the quality even further.

Generally you want to print in 300dpi. To give you an idea of that resolution, when you make art and its the same size on your screen as it is printed thats 96dpi. 300dpi is several times sharper and clearer printed.

You can resize any image into print-oriented pixel ratios, if you have an image you want to use already, I could resize it for you. But if the resolution is too low to begin with, even the advanced resizing tools will come out blurry in the end.

So I would need to find a 300dpi image of Nagase or is there something I can do to change it? This is my first time using Gimp.

300dpi is just the resolution you'll be working with, the image can be whatever resolution as long as the final product will come out clear on a 300dpi canvas.

Well I'll be damned. Try it now, fixed it, works for me.

It's by no means bad, but if you're willing to wait a few hours I could definitely improve the overall image quality and optimize it for print.

But it's pretty good. You could totally print that, if you matched it with the size of your stick and all.

If you wouldn't mind I would definitely appreciate it.

Its for a Madcatz SE. I used the template from the SRK TE/SE thread, but I read that they aren't 100% accurate.

I'll do a little research.

As for the actual work, it's no bother at all. I'll start sometime after I get out of my courses, should be done by this time tomorrow at the latest.

Standard Edition mod I did for a friend using sesame's artwork of Ookami in her thread.

Apologies for the blurry cam shots; I just snapped a few quick pictures with my phone before I sent it to him. I should have a clearer shot or two from him in a bit.

Did not know lamilabel adhesive stayed on hard the way it does, which led to the screw holes because peeling it back was impossible outside of replacing the whole thing. Will try to keep that in mind next time...

EDIT: Two clearer pictures. Size/resolution are kinda big, so I put a smaller version at the top.
