I don't like his playstyle I suppose

TKs/TK feints don't have anything to do with nothing. Minori's pretty incredible, and Azu, who there's only three video's isn't super fancy but god was he agressive and fun to watch. Same with the few video's I've seen of Pulsr.

There was another video of Gorou someone posted that not long ago, and there were times I thought, "fucking awesome!" quickly followed by, "why?"

Not like I'm gonna be 1/4th as good as these players, more just comments

Just wanna add, the best players still have unflattering vids. Maybe they're really good and it just doesn't show well on footage. But it seems unfair that just because person X is deemed really good that any bad video's shouldn't be called bad. If I'm juding a video of just ONE video with no names given, I don't think it seems unfair to base their performance JUST on that one video.

If person X is generally known to be good and you see one, two, three bad vids, well, you know that video is just one of many and that you know this person kicks ass in general, just not in the particular video.

I don't really think it's arrogant to make a comment on the annoymous player, it seems unfair to have to nod and agree with everything and have to have to agree that it's awesonme because everyone else deemed it to be so.

I'll take it back, Gorou isn't bad, that doesn't mean I still don't think that vid Kabookie posted was good, he rushed in two or three times with a 6C, what the fuck is that? And even some of the things the opponents did. Jin did a fullscreen 5B in the middle of a blockstring.

He also did some impressive corner pressure against Hazama and some good stuff on Jin in round 2, I think. He's good, but I don't like his Lambda and the vid was a poor representation of him

soujiro seta you can react to nus melee its nothing special... the only thing one should have trouble reacting to is tk feint, and tks are pretty much the same for lambda

umm I thought the bang vid was pretty good. The others were meh... I think its a bit pretentious to judge someone vids harshly especially since we dont know if the players played each other alot, familiar with certain patters, or even if it was an off day. I thought he played a solid zoner especially since his opponents all had better melee options compared to lambda. he definitely didnt play as good as the other vids but there are unknown, unknowns

with that said bamg makes me sad... oh well

Well, if the player is a known player and generally good then of course I'm not going to just use that video as a representative of them as a whole.

However, if it's some annoymous player and you watch the video, the video is bad and you may never likely see that player in a video again then all you have is speculation of that one video.

If a great player did bad in a video I don't see why you can't say that they did poorly. No one is good all the time. If you're trying to take notes on your favorite Nu/Lambda players you're not gonna rewatch all the videos where they were terrible, dropped tons of combo's, got hit by stupid stuff, looked outclassed, etc...will you? You might just take notes on what he fucked up, what not to do, but that's different.

I'm sure my Lambda will be terrible, I can still judge from afar though :kitty:

I looked up Goryus' Lambda just in case he was going by Gorous. lol.

Actually, there's some new Goryus Lambda videos up, they don't seem to appear if you type Blazblue Lambda.

I'm actually enjoying his Lambda, it's a good balance

I play my Nu a little like his Lambda in this vid. I'm really enjoying Goryus style, he definitely knows how to zone and play keep away but the guys no pushover up close either. He has a good corner game too. This is what I enjoy to see

I loved his 214A reversals on Tager. 236D, however, always scares the crap out of me because of the humongous window of opportunity it leaves open against Lambda... you can essentially see her doing the move, react 2 seconds later by dashing or IAD and hit her out of it before the attack comes out.

also really like that second combo vid posted it suck you have to rapid to combo even with a fatal counter... why does calamity sword suck ass

9097 damage combos suck if they take 100% heat?

It's no less practical than Hakumen's 100% life combos - while the situation isn't going to come up often, the reward justifies the cost.

Awesome combo video.

it takes a corner fatal counter hit off of calamity sword then you have to rapid another 50 heat, I doubt your opponents going to be in the corner if you have 100 heat to use. it also requires you to use gravity well. its much less practical than hakus 100

combos, also calamity sword for me almost never counter hits so its probably going to have to be off a complete guess because been in the middle of attack and still able to recover and block it or a blocked dp and if you have 100 heat your opponent probably has 50 to cancel their dp its a great combo but imo not very viable and calamity sword still suck

vids still awesome though and its good to know the combo exist just in case

rather painful to watch. without her loop, she's rather below average. she has trouble cracking the upper 2k using her parsers, swords and c. her loop is what puts her in contention and does the bulk of her damage.

Dio's Lamba sucked. I didn't like the other video of his Lambda someone posted a while ago either. He gets wreckless with DP's.

I didn't like Kahqns either. I think I'm picky with who uses her.

The nice thing is her character is so versatile that good players never use her the same

Lambda isn't a scrub friendly characters....... where the difference in skills is very noticeable.. without her more advance combo at best you be at Rachael level of damage. with that said you are a very picky person ^^,

Yeah, what Kenja said is true, without either CH 5D or 236C or corner combo's, her damage is really garbage. I'm a little scared to use her, I'm worried I won't be able to land her bigger combo's.

I'm not worried about doing her combo's, I'm more anxious whether I can land the move to set up for her damage.

Don't worry, AF.

I don't even play her, and I get 4k+ consistently. You just have to adjust your playstyle, and learn what works. You'll be doing great after that. She has a lot of tools.

lol @ dio changing his name. It's probably not dio.

And double lol at the fact that I witnessed his embarrassing Lambda yesterday.

EDIT- watching him play, it's definitely not dio.

Is anyone else getting tired of combo videos that spend a lengthy amount of time in the intro using one of the opening credits that say the name of the game to introduce the combo video over a matter of 30 seconds to a minute?

It's almost as tiresome as a rambling sentence with no other purpose than to complain... anyway:
