Wow if CS AND Tatsunoko Vs Capcom got put into this, I'm going. I'll even give people rides if they need them from near NorCal. Well, I'll give a few people a ride given they don't mind cramming in an '03 Mustang GT and helping with gas a little.

See add Tatsunoko vs Capcom. People will enter it and probably more people would enter it than BB CT since BB CS is out. Please consider making a wise choice to add it. I will help out too with it if needed.

I agree with Tron, adding in Tatsunoko vs Capcom would open up the doors for another group of gamers to get in and enjoy themselves. I may have only had TvC for all of 5 days but I'm already learning so much about the game that I would love to test my mettle with others. I'm sure there are others who would love the same thing. That and it would be a good competitive setting to use instead of WiFi cause that is just awful a majority of the time. I've played 10 online matches and all of them had bad lag. I swear the only game that i've seen on the Wii that has consistenly good connections all the time is Mario Kart. Everything else has problems half the time.

Wifi does suck haha. Yeah Tatsunoko vs Capcom is really fun and I have been playing since the Japanese version. I want more people to get into the game and it is not as broken as Marvel or the Japanese version. I am happy with the changes they made for the new one.

Sorry for being off topic but is there an Arcade version of Tatsunoko vs Capcom? I assume so give that it is a successor to MvC2 in some sense. I never even knew of the games existance until they announced the US console release.

Posted

Yes but apparently none of the new characters are in it which is really dumb. Luckily for me I only use one new character for my second team. So my main team is fine but yeah.

Posted

Who were the new characters? If Zero is one of those, I'd be screwed on the arcade version. I only use my team of Zero/Karas and the only others I can even remotely use are Ryu and Morrigan due to them being basically like MvC2 with some exceptions.

Posted

all the characters you had to unlock are new then from previous game was Viewtiful Joe, Ippatsuman, Saki and Hakusho Daimo. So those characters would not be in the arcade.

The possibility of us adding a 7th game to the roster is pretty slim at this point unfortunately. There was also a recent TvC tournament at FFA in Los Angeles recently and I think only like 12 players showed up. That's not much support for the title. If the game picks up and I can free up some time in the schedule, then we may add it. But my primary focus is to make sure all the issues from last year are addressed and working smoothly before I add more to my plate.

While I do understand your point about keeping everything within obtainable limits to your workload, I must comment on one of your statements. Now you say there was a recent tournament in LA for TvC and only a small amount of players showed up. But one thing you must take into consideration is that the console version of the game literally came out last week tuesday. So odds are that by the time April comes around, a lot more console players will have the game and be willing to join something like a TvC tournament because they will actually know what they are doing. Because if most US players are like me, they never had access to the arcade version and was only able to watch videos and read up on information about the game until it was released on console. So that would be a hinderance to any players who did not have easy access to the game.

Now that the console version has come out, there is a much higher chance of a bigger turnout for a TvC tournament because more players will be familiar not only with the logistics of the game's design, but players will also be familiar with actually playing the game, getting comfortable and learning to actually play well. Watching videos can only get someone so far without actually being able to play it.

Just a mere rebuttal, I have no intention of making anyone do work than is possible. Just something to take into consideration when making any final decisions.

Point taken Orion. I'll see how the scene grows over the next month or so, but I'm fairly sure we won't be adding a 7th game. I'll see if I can set aside space for a BYOConsole area or something so players can get their TvC on.

Though we're still going to be looking into it, in the off chance that we do not get BB:CS console, what options would be best received from this community? 1. BB: CS arcade - Potential for no stream time pending on outputs from the cabs, location, etc. Sunday's finals would have to be better planned out. 2. Run BB: CT (bleh, even from me) 3. Put in another game? GG:AC, Melty, etc? This is not to say BB: CS console is off the table, I'm still looking into it, but I wanted to get the opinions early of what to do should it not happen.

ah, since the tourney is planned on April, doesn't it almost impossible to have CS console? In the situation we are in now, I think going with CT is very bad idea. I'd say manage at least 2 CS cabinet and run CS tourney, or go with other game. was it like 35 people last time? I'd say very much the same amout of people would enter this time as well. Maybe more? anyway, wouldn't be like KOFXII for sure. so even with 2 cabinets it seems pretty bad. If you worry about the schedule stuff, I'd say just go with Melty. Again, thanks for the concerning and communication.

I really believe that it's best to try to run CS for Warzone II.

The community (especially SoCal) has expressed overwhelmingly that it has moved on from CT to CS, so at the very least, CT should not even be considered.

Regarding streaming CS, HellFromAbove's Top Tier Gaming does direct-feed streaming of CS from one of the local SoCal machines almost weekly, and I expect the equipment he uses is likely the same as what you already have available for streaming at Warzone. I suspect that streaming will not be a problem, especially if you are limiting it to top 8.

That said, I think people would rather have a CS tournament at the sacrifice of the stream (in whatever way it had to be) than no CS at Warzone.

I think having even 1 setup to run CS would be sufficient, even if it means starting the tournament earlier. I, for one, would be willing to put up with a CS tournament that takes a few extra hours if it needs to. But I also don't think it would be all that hard to secure 1-2 more setups to get things running.

We'll see what happens when BB console is announced soon (link here), but I think it's unlikely we'll see a release before this year's Warzone in April.

I know EVO recently dropped BlazBlue for another tournament, but their case is slightly different. They are dealing with the entire country. They are literally the biggest major tournament in the US. There was talk of getting all the people that own CS boards to bring them to EVO, but they would need like 5-10 boards, and they can't safely count on every one of those people who promised to bring their CS board to follow through.

For Warzone, I think it can be done. I know of 1 CS board that you can 100% count on, and I don't think it would be all that hard to procure 1-2 more before Warzone happens. I think solidifying CS's spot at Warzone will get people pretty fucking hype. This is LESS than TWO MONTHS away. I already can't fucking wait!

If you're open with the community about what it takes to make CS happen at Warzone, I guarantee you we will step up and make it happen. Tell us what YOU need to happen to make CS's spot at Warzone secure.

Who knows? Maybe we'll all be surprised and BB will come out on console in like a month and all of this won't matter. :vbang:

I like how someone deleted my comment. IN short then Render makes a good point. Half of the BB community should chill out and deal with it like Render is. HFA especially! Please add TvC! Thanks!

You suggesting they use illegal copies of CS for a legit tourney is a fucking dumb dipshit idea, whereas render didn't imply anything of that sort. Your comment deserves to be deleted.

What TGS said. Your post was deleted by me and with good reason.

Well you guys want to play CS badly so just helping since the boards are not easy access to. So don't start bitching because you cant throw a CS tournament due to lack of set ups. I was trying to help but yes it is illegal but just throwing out an idea. HFA I was just kidding and I am not irritated by you anymore. That TGS guy.....!

It would be pretty freakin hype to have 1 setup lol! every game would be seen by all the players haha. I hope we get alot of Tushar vs. Japanese Ken moments from last year's WCWZ.

Thanks for the input guys. If I can't get CS console, I'll definitely run it on arcade cabs. Now I gotta talk to Scott to see if I can procure Arcade Infinity's setup. Anyone know if Denjin has CS?

The locations of CS boards in the state of Cali are 2 at AI 1 at Mike Z's home 1 at SVGL (Norcal) 1 at Milpitas Golfland (Norcal) 1 at Goryu's home (I think)? Denjin and FFA are supposedly contemplating about getting it...

I don't know about Denjin...

But FFA was supposed to have gotten it when it came out.

Apparently it wasn't on pre-order, like I was led to believe.

Too bad CS won't be out on consoles by April. CS was just announced to be released on consoles in Japan this summer. International release is likely another 4 or 5 months after that...So you better start hitting up everyone who has a CS board and hope for the best!
