Skye Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Too risky. Just backdash, less recovery, won't throw him in CH status if he tries and/or gets hit, etc, etc. All around the better option.
Blade Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Sorry, Skye, What are some good "safe" Arakune Normals that won't get me thrown by 360A or 360B or just Throw? I fight Tagers who like to block a lot and if I jump wrong, I get colliderd', or they block j.2A/j.2C and Buster me.

Skye Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Arakune in all situations is better off zoning Tager. But if you do need to get close, 5a > 6b is good, IAD j.4b is good too. Arakune's air game isn't really free anymore, so you'll need to watch your ass vs Tager. Never dive outside a combo unless your opponent is cursed. But in most of the match should be you zoning Tager.
LordSpectreX Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 GrI IAD j.4b. Though to be honest, why are you attacking him? If he's blocking a lot, then backdash and j.d 2d and cloud him. Then 2C if they sledge or backdash 6d if they jump. You should not be rushing down tager, especially with j.2a.
Stafy Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Would forcing an f of g be viable to recurse in the corner? i.e airgrab, tager techs, F of G?
A.X.I.S. Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 nope, I advice against it because you can go for full curse from that very air grab and F of G sucks. another thing to note even if we neutral depending on high and spacing tager can smack you out of it or delay his fall with elbow.
Heroic_Legacy Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Would forcing an f of g be viable to recurse in the corner? i.e airgrab, tager techs, F of G? Works anywhere if you time it right/unmagnetized.
Stafy Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Well, I was mostly thinking after all of the loops. I should've mentioned that, my bad.
Skye Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 (edited) Arakune does have like 1 guaranteed FoG set up and it's a punish. If you catch Tager doing starting Sledge, you can hit him with FoG, He'll activate it, autoguard into it, CH you, then start getting hit. Curse meter is added on the last hit and you can combo into it 100% curse, it's more unorthodox than it is unpractical. Other than that, you can't really zone Tager into getting hit, if there are height restrictions to his evasion, he can jump and j.2c, and it'll CH you on the way down, and if Tager is pimp like that, he can backdash it. Trying to tech trap him into also won't work if the Tager can react to the air super, again refer to j.2c, so it's not a good idea. Just combo from the air grab, meterless and with the same optimal result. Edited November 8, 2010 by Skye
Argent Zero Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 In Tager's case, Arakune does have the upper hand. However, what makes it a little dangerous is Tager's Sledge Hammer and Atomic Collider. The Sledge has the ability to block JD's, and 6D and will allow Tager to advance on Arakune. The Atomic Collider will put a hold on Arakune's areial moves. Since Arakune's health isn't great, two to three combo sets can really cripple Arakune to the point of defeat. Sorry for being too basic, but hope this helps any Arakune players...
Blade Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Hey guys, I'm getting caught in Tager's 5D guardstrings...I backdash x N but it doesn't get me anywhere, he keeps throwing out 5D to keep my close and magnetized or hit with 5D again to reset the process...help me escape, please.
A.X.I.S. Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 LOL all the ara's I fight keep mashing it until the mag wears off.
LordSpectreX Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 If he's spamming 5D, use 2C. I was told that in this very thread.
Skye Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 If Tager is being brain dead about 5D there are things you can do against him. If you're close to him, do 5b, you'll hit him preemptively, go into 5d for meter, if it's full screen, hit him with 2c, FC curse combo. You can also get a well timed j.6d in, but that's more of a yomi thing, j.d is so damn slow. If you're too scared to press anything, IB the 5D and punish with 5a > 6b.
